  • Geoff thompson is really great,

I'd mention mick coup Bill kipp and peyton Quinn

as people who REALLY want to know what works for 99% of people out there, after researching my own experience about 6-7 yrs of formal but still practical training Thai boxing Boxing Judo etc,

But the last 5-6 have been focused on these authors, Any one he discards these guys opinions are Complete novices, THEY JUST DON'T KNOW IT YET

  • My father in law is fighting in this vid...I'll never cheat on my wife!! She was trained by Geoff too up to her 4th dan. Geoff is a total legend and probably the nicest guy you could ever meet. I am proud to know him.

  • Give them another read if you get the chance - it really is good stuff. Both are high grade in traditional karate so it's not as if they haven't put in their time on the training side. But they were on the doors when Coventry was an absolute warzone, and maybe pavement arena is a bit cheesy, but their books and their seminars are fantastic.

  • fair enough.

ive read his book animal day though.

personally im a bit allergic to the whole tough man approach, it's all focusing on negativity.

  • Yeah I agree - 'Animal day' is definitely focussed on the physical side, but all he discusses in the other books and interviews he's done is the ultimate fultility and destructiveness of fighting, aggression, and grudges. Have a look on youtube for Geoff Thompson Masterclass 'Forgiveness' - awesome stuff. I'm not into the religious side as he is (he's a practicing Christian now) but the general terms he uses are very thoughtful.

  • the old man can fight, but doing sit
