  • In regards to the Anthony call, after so long in my own journey I still feel the pangs of guilt and doubt that were burned into my head in my early years. It isn't as bad as it once was, where I would say "What if I am actually wrong?". But I learn to dismiss it and get on with things that I need to do and focus on.

  • Adele is an athiest cool

  • matt you sexy beast. LOL

but seriously everyone on this show has a hot personality

  • she looks good

  • Fit.

  • Haha, Matt looks like the mom from Hairspray.

  • @phxsns1 I miss Divine so much!

  • @Chise37 Glad someone actually still connects that role to Divine. Travolta wasn't too bad, though....

  • who is that beautiful woman on the right?

  • My gosh, Matt... you'll scare everyone ... lol

  • .... Im not ashamed in being turned on. _

  • "What I'm wearing has absolutely no bearing on what I'm going to say in the rest show"

    ;_;

I wanted to hear Matthilda talking in a sexy voice...

  • Oh they have Eddie Izzard on this episode? Wow he gained a lot of... HOLY SHIT that's Matt.

  • Urika with a whore infront of it xD

  • Who is that hawt chick with Jeff... meh.

got only 4 words for ya Matt.

OMFG (yes pun intended). Still just as funny months later.

  • Hell never seemed real to me. Never feared an afterlife in some firey cesspool. I did think there was a heaven but when I imagined dead relatives watching me from heaven I realized the concept was nuts. They weren't or aren't watching. No heaven either.

  • After watching the rest the video, I realize that Matt looks like a larger than life version of my (female) best friend! Even the mannerisms are eerily similar...

  • @mooniekate i bet you never see them in the same place at once too.... hmmm.

  • @hardinmichael1981 *gasp* You know... You're right! What perfect logic, too. You never see god and RuPaul at the same time, therefore RuPaul is god! Lol!

  • @mooniekate uh, i was taling about Matt and your friend whom he supposedly resembles.

that was the joke. god had nothing to do with it.

  • @hardinmichael1981 I realize that it was a joke, and I added one of my own. Sorry, text has no tone.

  • @mooniekate no problem. my bad.

  • Matt looks great in drag! The red hair really suits him. I could be biased, though. I'm a redhead.

  • "You had surgery last time I saw you" - love that line.

  • matthilda = la mas fea de la fiesta!

  • lol. I'm finding it hard to take Matt seriously dressed as he is. Not that I have any problems with any sexual identities out there. Im just not used to Matt dressed like that, and find him looking like that pretty funny, not in a bad way.

And congrats Matt on raising 30K!

  • Matt's rant during the first 7 minutes is simply amazing.

  • WOW...

  • I love how he just hung up on the guy. xD

  • I cant beliefe that Jeff is supposed to be really 51 already. He looks like 35.

  • @DasHinchen

It's a question of faith, I just believe he's 51 even though observation tells otherwise :P

  • @agsiar Hah, that was a good one. *brofist* ^^

  • @agsiar

    Test his prostate...

  • @DasHinchen Indeed this is actually harder to grasp than matt in drag tbh

  • make out! make out! make out! make out! make out!

  • I was going to say is that thing even human??

  • OMG He looks like Maggie Gallagher, an improved version of her that is.

  • Matt look so hot and beautiful!

  • Jeff Dee is like *pokerface* the whole time

  • Matt is a pimp.

  • Hhhahahah, I HAD NO IDEA, that you would do this, i was just eating my bread with butter and there you were talking in a woman's costume.

  • He doesn't look half bad in drag, he cleans up nice :D lol

  • Lol Matthilda isn't as freakish as my mind made her out to be. XD

  • Of all the awful bullshit foisted on most black American men, I feel worst about the fundamentalist gender roles. They believe they're rebelling against white culture, but they're actually playing up to the stereotypes given to them by white culture, often against their own friends and family. Sno good.

  • Have you seen the shock of god video where he takes you dressing in drag COMPLETELY out of context.

  • WOAH was not expecting that

  • Matt, are those boobs real? :)

  • Horica -- worst --- storyteller -- EVER!

  • @TomVodkaCollins I was wondering what the f*** I was hearing. Yeah dude - they've probably never heard of the largest religious idol/most absurd usage of money right above poverty stricken squalor.

  • Matt looks cute, like he ought to be walking on a Honolulu beach holding a coconut drink. Bet he'd be real popular in Samoa.

  • Sorry: Matt/hilda, you fucking Rock!

  • I have just laughed my arse off through the first 5 minutes of this! Matt, you fucking rock!

  • wow u look better in drag !

  • Is that AronRa's wife?

  • Strategic minimize activated.

  • Yea he's definitely making atheist look good with this XD... smh

  • What's more fucked up, this or the Amazing Atheist's banana sex tape?

  • Could Jeff look more bored? :)

  • @bajholster - He doesn't look bored, he looks like he wants to stop the show and jump all over Hilda. (That's what happened after the screen went off. ;D )

  • awesome show keep it up guys!

  • hahahahahahahahahaha

  • Matt is making me have John Waters type flashbacks of Divine!

  • Jeff and Hilda make a cute couple!

  • Jeff annoys me so bad.

  • Jeff Dee doesent flinch at all....like a boss

  • LOLOLOLOL awesome!

  • Omg i didnt even recognise him! He looks like a woman and had me fooled till he opened his mouth! lol

  • why didn't the guy on left dress as a girl. damnit. he was sitting there looking like a jackass with a dumb grin. uh. next time just have men in drag please.

  • Man, that was one long-winded story!

  • It sort of sounds to me like Horica made a new friend in Rio's water, or at least I hope he did. Either way, I'm not staying up 5 days.

  • Who's "Check'em Charlie"?

  • @aphoxema some idiot who keeps calling to troll the show under different names

  • I'm more schocked by Matt having hair than anything else o.O

  • I'd tap that.

  • No God would make such an ugly chick

  • Matt. I had such a shitty day before this. You made me laugh. Thanks! :)

  • Comment removed

  • Hey Matt... ;) Honk honk.

  • 13:26 LOL check Matt out.

  • ROFLMAO! Matt looks fantastic! That's hilarious!

  • Holy shit!

  • I think Beth might get jealous from all the guys hitting on Matilda :p.

  • OK now THAT was a shock!

  • I'd hit it.

    TWICE.

  • Matt you look amazing!! :D...

  • Matt does not have feminine bone structure at all and is not what one would call a "pretty boy". So yeah, he does look better in drag than I would have expected! I respect his level of comfort with his sexuality and who he is. You rock, Matt!

  • @FM897

    - "I respect his level of comfort with his sexuality and who he is. You rock, Matt!"

It doesn't have much to do with his sexuality. It was just something that he had promised to do if his team would raise more money for Camp Quest than PZ Myers and his team. Matt won.

  • @TheAtheistExperience I understand, and I didn't mean to insinuate anything. To me, it doesn't really matter why he did it. My point was that I respect him for being comfortable enough as a STRAIGHT man (I'm assuming Matt is straight) to dress in drag.

  • @TheAtheistExperience (Part 2) A lot of straight men wouldn't feel comfortable doing so for any reason because they run the risk of having their sexual orientation questioned, being labeled a "fag", "freak", "crossdresser", "tranny", etc. There is a massive amount of ignorance out there.

  • @TheAtheistExperience (Part 3) I respect him for not being uptight about dressing in drag, for not simply making a joke out of it, AND for giving a nod to transsexuals at the beginning of the episode. The entire trans community needs all the spokespeople, formal and informal, that they can get. He is appreciated as an ally, whether being one is his intention or not.

  • @TheAtheistExperience It does speak to the level of his comfort with himself because if he had issues with his sexuality he would never had agreed to dress up in the first place, much less gone through with it.

  • @TheAtheistExperience Yeah but you have to be comfortable with your sexuality, whatever it is, to be so totally at ease in clothing that contradict it.

  • @FM897 make-up does wonders xD

  • Oh geez, I'm just staring at Jeff's face, his expression is amazing.

  • Haha, I love Matt. XD Only a man comfortable with himself and his sexuality can pull this off. :)

  • Holy crap that is awesome

  • @ridewave444 Yeah, the little mermaid really let herself go.

  • matt should be a horseman when hitchen dies (which i hope not). im not replacing hitchens but the 4 horsemen must not be 3

  • so who is the hot redhead?

    j/k haha

  • matt, no offense but...are those boobs real?

  • Haha I began watching the show and I thought, "I've never seen this host before", then she spoke and I was like "oh wait, that's Matt!". Poor Jeff, he looked so uncomfortable, he barley looked at Matt!

  • Yucky!!

  • seriously?!

  • I'm an Atheist who believes we have souls, so how about THAT? ;-)

No heaven, no god, no hell, no dogma, no books to read and not even an afterlife... Just a simple idea that "personhood" is something beyond just a brain's electrochemical activity.

And yes, I arrived at this position on my own without prompting from any book.

  • @pburto what evidence do you have?

  • @wideheadofknowledge Evidence? None. But perhaps you'll agree with this: Your emotions exist, and they "matter" to you. Likewise, I matter to myself. I matter to myself more than you matter to me. (Nothing personal.) This is instinct, and I simply prefer that the instinct isn't false.

But if you follow the logic that we are only a manifestation of chemistry and other laws, then the future is predestined, and therefore pain, pleasure, and pursuit of a better life are illusions.

  • @pburto (continued) By the way, the burden of proof WOULD be upon me if I were attempting to convince others, but I don't care if others see things this way, so I acknowledge accept that I have no proof and others are free to disagree.

It is instinct to "matter". To quote Neo, "I don't like the idea that I'm not in control of my own life." I'd take the red pill. It doesn't matter to me if other chemical reactions occur, so why would the chemistry in my brain matter, except for that instinct?

  • @pburto What does that have to do with a soul and why would you believe in something for which you admit you have no evidence?

  • @wideheadofknowledge Your first question: If you define a soul as a "vessel for an afterlife" then it has nothing to do with a soul. But my definition is simply: The mind, as distinguished from the brain. Belief in a mind is common, but unlike most other atheists I believe that the mind is NOT EXACTLY the same thing as a brain. It may be that the mind can only exist within the brain, but I don't believe that neurons alone can fully define "the experiencing person". See part 2 about evidence.

  • @pburto Regarding evidence, there isn't much, but my belief isn't strong either. I'm not committed to this concept and I may change my view if I am persuaded.

But, we have a finite number of neurons in the brain, and each has a finite number of contact points with other neurons. I that the human experience is more complex than can be defined by this activity. My belief could be called an estimation, like guessing the number of beans in a jar.

Also, see no evidence against it.

  • @pburto Firstly - seeing no evidence against a position is absolutely no reason to believe in it. Secondly - conservative estimates put the number of neuronal connections in the trillions. Thirdly - your inability to comprehend that the "mind" is nothing more than emergent properties of the ebb and flow of neuronal activity is falling into the trap of the argument from incredulity.

  • @wideheadofknowledge Firstly... You're correct about that, and I didn't state otherwise.

Secondly... Admitting the brain isn't digital so this analogy isn't perfect, a trillion bytes (8 trillion bits) is a terabyte, which I say is inadequate to store or process the human experience. (To me.)

Thirdly... It's not an argument at all as I'm not attempting to convince. I'm explaining the basis of my position, because you asked. There is zero evidence either way so any position is equally valid.

  • @pburto

    1) You stated "Also, see no evidence against it" - why write this if you know it's irrelevant to the argument?

    2) "To me" = argument from incredulity (again) which leads to -

    3) You said "I don't believe that neurons alone can fully define 'the experiencing person'" thus committing the argument from incredulity. It doesn't matter whether you are trying to convince someone. The flaw is in your own reasoning. Your position makes no sense logically.

  • @wideheadofknowledge 1) When comparing evidence for vs. evidence against a position, both do indeed matter. It is particularly relevant that there is no evidence one way when the other side is equally without evidence. 2) Not an argument AT ALL. Disagree if you wish. 3) Again, not an argument AT ALL. Disagree freely.

If I ask you how many beans are in a jar, and you don't take measurements, it is perfectly legit if you respond "I think between 500 and 700" without evidence.

  • @pburto 1) If one makes an hypothesis (There is a mind/brain duality) we should test it. At present neurobiologists pretty much agree that the mind is nothing more than an emergent property of our neuronal activity. Your claim that "there's no evidence against the position of duality" is both contradicted by the evidence and is itself a logical fallacy - it's called the Appeal to Ignorance.

    Part 2 coming...

  • 2+3) The Argument from Incredulity is a logical fallacy that involves faulty logic. You are committing this fallacy in your reasoning. The fact that you don't recognize your own position as a (faulty) logical argument is not my fault. You are saying that, for you, the complexity of the human experience cannot be simply accounted for by the trillions of connections between our neurons, therefore there must be something else. This is a textbook case of the argument from incredulity. Look it up.

  • @wideheadofknowledge I know exactly what a logical fallacy is, and I know what an argument from incredulity is. Further, you just described it, confirming my understanding and YES, in addition, I looked it up again now. Really, it doesn't apply here.

You're speaking to an atheist who has absolutely NO belief in anything metaphysical. (The latter may be a surprise to you.) From the start, you may not have come to understand my position. Shall I define it further or is "winning" what's important?

  • @pburto 1) I explained just why your postion constitutes an argument from incredulity. Care to expound on why you don't think it is? 2)If you don't believe that the mind transcends matter then where does the "mind" reside if not the brain? Some hitherto undiscovered organ? 3) Winning?! I'm just making comments because its fun and good "exercise" for one's mental faculties. I am genuinely interested in your point of view.

  • @wideheadofknowledge I'd like to reply by message so I can type more, but to do so, due to your friend lock I need to be added as a friend. (Unfriend me later if you wish.) I'll send you an invite.

  • Matt, honestly, you look great as a woman.

  • I swear, for like the first 30 seconds, I was like, "I can hear Matt but can't see him, where is he hiding?"

  • What the fuck...

  • @39 i miss the fellowship of the church. sitting around other people who share the same opinion as i do about something, talking 2 people who otherwise wouldn't hav spoken 2 me. facebook is great, but i'm a lonely person with 3 real-life friends and miss being part of a group, in person, that meets once a week. i'd talk 2 a few people then go home and i was happy with that.

  • @25 lol! i lov that he can admit this

  • damn that chick is so fine

  • @Vggamegod fuck yeah!

  • "Eureka with a whore in front of it... "

  • HEY MATT can I get a lap dance?

I want you to wear 8-inch heels & dance to the song "Nasty Girl"by Vanity6

    ...fan

  • Matt: you can stop going to church my child,

    hahaha, I love it.

  • That costume was way to good.. hahaha :D Great episode

  • I'd hit that!

  • So is this the "apex" of the atheist humanist world view?

  • He looks shockingly like Jo Brand

  • omg i just jumped when matt started talking

  • I want to thaank shockofgod for bringing this to my attention. Great show and Matt you do look fabulous. And that is coming from a queen who is also an atheist.

  • Matt, do you do gerbils?

  • WHAT A FREAK?

  • Man, we REALLY need some group like the ACA here in Brazil...

  • It's so weird to see and hear a woman making so much sense......

    umad, feminist?

  • LMFAO he looks like my 10-chinned annoying fat aunt

  • lol Jeff won't even look at Mattette

  • you're sick God Bless you...

  • So this is the episode Matt just says fuck it.

  • As a die-hard skeptic, it is unfortunate that if you are an atheist then everything goes. I don't believe in glorifying the homosexual lifstyle or anything to the extreme. If Matt ever has some boys and in the scouts, baseball etc. I hope the leader/coach is a butt slammer.

  • This is the worst episode ever man... Boring as hell... I couldint focus on what the hell the callers wer talking about... Just.. Not good

  • I don't see what the big deal is about Matt in drag. I think he looks lovely.

Then again, i do live in Amsterdam...

  • fuck was it long-winded caller day?

  • Atheism just happens to be a prevalent characteristic of secular humanism

  • Matt.... hahahahahahaha ...holy shit dude...

  • I have never seen Jeff appear so rigid and uncomfortable before. I can only think that Matt's attire and make-up really disturbs him :)

  • @jrcahill2 I did notice that. He does a good job of not looking at Matt throughout.

  • I think that's a real good reason why people get uncomfortable w those things, they just don't see it enough. Maybe if it were more of a norm we'd find it more easy. That said, I also understand why people don't always come out w who they really are as well. There are too many racist people (christians, republicans, etc.) bigots might have u. I say COME OUT AS U ARE!!!!!

  • Matt, u are one ugly woman! hahahaha! I've actually seen women that look like u in Walmart! HA!

  • "So why am i setting here looking fabulous?" HHHHAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHALOLOLOLOOLLOHA

  • @LBTennis I lold too....

"So why am i setting here looking fabulous?"

  • LOL - Good Job

  • Evolution is a continuing check of current genetic output against reality. No reason we cannot evolve our memes alongside genes.

  • Matt having a "broad" experience, is now "The Experienced Athiest".

  • in order to have free will we would have to noe every decision we make but since were limited eh who knows also what about the babies that get abortions, our world is not how we perceive it like the wind perhaps

  • I'm glad to see Matt has finally come out of the closet.

  • damn who is the hot chick on the right?!?!?!

  • Hey! Looks like Matt Willy-hunter. :hehe:

  • Who is 'Check 'em Charlie' and why is he a "Bat-shit crazy Bastard"?

  • I've woke up next to worse.

  • @YesIamJames hahahahahahah

  • Matt is a very ugly woman

  • What a gayboy!

  • Holy fuck, Matt. You're looking like someone's mother's friend who gets drunk at every gathering and tries to get into bed with every male 18-24. Hahahaha!!! Jeff is VISIBLY uncomfortable with how fabulous you look. Mixed feelings...I'm telling you.

  • Too many rambling callers in this episode. People need to get to their point and stop repeating themselves over and over again.

  • That evolved athiest guy needs to stop calling in. He keeps changing his name but he keeps bringing up the same stupid topic...and he doesn't bother trying to change his voice--not that that's easy to do. I hope he stops calling in because he's getting really REALLY annoying

  • LOL who the fuck is check'm charlie HAHAAHAHHA

    BAT SHIT CRZY LIAR AHAHHAHA
