You can do 2 on top and 3 on bottom or vice versa (:

You're not limited to 5 sections. You can do 6 or more if necessary ^^;

i know when i tried this (and it worked like a charm!) my ends would always get out. i'm not sure if it was an issue for anyone else, but if it was, then they should try using small elastics to keep the ends in place. :) it worked for me so that the ends curled, too.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I have tried pretty much every single video on youtube about heatless curls, and the moment I took the markers out I fell in love with this effect!!! All the other tutorials made the curls too loose, or too curly or too frizzy, and that's obviously a personal preference but you just solved all my hair troubles! My hair is naturally wavy but REALLY frizzy, and this way I get too maintain the texture + smooth and shiny curls!!! You are amazing!!! :)

Okay.. Actually it didn't turn out as good as I thought it would, haha! My hair is still really damp, so the curls are barely there even if I had the pencils in my hair for 3 hours :( . I guess I'll try again another time...

Next time, try to dampen your hair to only about 20% ^^; It should only take 2 hours max for your hair to dry! Otherwise, you've wet it too much xD
