1 of 2: Setting aside the politics of this architecture & its architect, I find viewing this video again mesmerizing. I feel transfixed by the light & the shadows; by the contrast of the sun's warmth bathing & softening each grain of wood with that of the stark geometry & sterility of the concrete. I appreciate the serendipitous geometry of the windows which cast a dancing light within the stark walls. The majestic height of the ceiling reminds us of our small place in the universe.

I'm not an architect. And may be for this , that I can't understant his "ethics" . Mr. Fuksas hates the "formalism" in some historical buildings . He then seems to have an "ethics of informal" . The ergonomics is too formal for Fuksas . Window-washers in Rho-Fiera , working on those so informal glasses , are going to send him to hell in a such similar informal manner . He is a genius . In order to get payed for these "works" You have to be a genius or a fool .
per quanto non condivida la quasi totalità delle opere di fuksas, devo ammettere che questa mi ha sorpreso in positivo! l'unica cosa che chiederei a max è se gli sia mai venuto lo scrupolo di guardare il contesto in cui è intervenuto, il pesaggio e i rapporti numerici che regolano l'architettura già costruita a foligno...in poche parole, questo progetto mi sembra molto fuori scala!
il minimalismo delle finiture poi negli ultimi interventi religiosi in Italia non mi ha ancora convinto, tempo sia solo la reazione alla miriade di chiese antiche ed arzigogolate che abbiamo sul ns territorio e delle quali -forse- ci siamo un po stancati.

sul progetto dico solo che il cubo interno piu che essere leggero a me da un senso di oppressione notevole, è come se i fedeli dovessero con la loro forza alzare questo coperchio ma non riescano a liberarsene per raggiungere i cieli.
è lo so ma io vivo a Foligno e come la stragrande maggioranza degli abitanti del centro del mondo sono costratto a subire giornalemente questo sfregio alla mia città e all'arte umbra, un cubo che copre le bellezze paesaggistiche e che nessuno ha mai voluto ma come ripeto solo subito.
Fa tristezza vedere come sia facile distruggere una regione di arte e cultura come l'umbria.
