For a moment there, Russ, I though you were not chatting with a real person but getting a "programmed responsed." Well, on second though, maybe you WERE getting a programmed response! LOL
I think its hilarious how Joseph Smith taught that there were multiple Gods, and how God the father progressed to Godhood while in the Book of Mormon it says
"For Behold, I am God; and I am a God of miracles; and I will show unto the world that I am the same yesterday, today, and forever; and I work not among the children of men save it be according to their faith." 2 Nephi 27: 23
I get the same thing everytime I talk to them online. I already know the religion really well, but I want to see if they will admit what they believe. A true Chistian would be proud to preach what they believe, but they dont feel comfortable sharing it. Obviously the LDS gospel is not from God. I pray for the LDS all the time, that God would soften their heart so they can know truth, and come to know the true God of the Bible. Even if I cant get truogh to them, I pray it will spark an interest
Good video. It would have been even more effective if you used some of the scriptures in the Book of Mormon saying there was only one God. It is amazing how many contradictions there are between the Book of Mormon and what mormon prophets have said. Somehow I am supposed to believe that the modern prophet is right and all the prophets before him who said contradictory things were all wrong. Again, good video, though if you are really christian then you are just as deluded as the mormons.
Recently, I tried to log on to the mormon chat, but I never get connected to any missionary. Did they cut down the missionaries? Or is it browser specific?
I said, "Speculation? That families will be together for eternity or that you can be gods?" She then said, "Like god - we really don't know what that will be." I said, "Like god? Isn't that the same lie the devil used to deceive Eve in the garden?" She said, "yes, but Satan didn't know that the fall was part of God' plan." I then asked how they could pursue something (be a god) forbidden in the commandments? She ended our chat. :(
Cont. She said "husband and wife." I asked that if they had children if they would be sealed to them and also to their future spouses through the temple? She agreed. I then asked how that fit with the doctrine of eternal progression/exaltation since the most worthy Mormons would be rewarded by being gods of their own planets. I said it would seem that they would literally be worlds apart - not together in eternity - if this promise were true. Her response? "That's speculation."
I had a similar chat this evening with Tiffani at Mormon.org. Wish I would have saved it. I asked if she was familiar w/ the saying, 'Families are Forever." She said she was. I asked if that was an important teaching of LDS. She started down a rabbit trail. I asked, "Do you believe that children who are sealed to their parents in the Temple will live with them eternally?" She said, "Yes." I asked the same about spouses and she said, "yes." I asked which sealing took precedence.
They did the same thing to me also when i started asking them on the teachings of grace as described in the "BOM", they dodge questions, and speak more on about feelings then anything else. I don't hate Mormons, but sometimes it can be frustrating speaking to them, it's as if i you ask them a certain question, they automatically think your trying to attack them or something?
great job russ. this is so typically mormon: obfuscate, deflect, LIE. sad that so many will go to hell because joseph smith taught that the One True and Living G_d was once a man. sad. G_d bless you russ. Peace, in His love
LOL, She cut you off. Well hopefully she'll think about what you had to say, or maybe something you said will plant a seed in the heart one of her friends. I've always wanted to do this, I'm just concerned that I won't know what to say to them. I guess it's good practice for when the Mormon Missionaries come to my door. =)

If one were to use the Bible to answer the question, the answer would be simple.
"In the beginning, there was God"
Problem solved, that is, if you believe the bible to be true.
