  • I can't see the dislike-bar!!! ;DD

    Star Trek rulez!!

  • Kirk is cool and all, but Picard FTW

  • Opening brings Tears to my Eyes...

  • Great opening music, amazing.

  • Great opening music, amazing.

  • Ive never really seen a series that had so much to teach to humanity about our selfs really we could learn alot from TNG. picard is the man

  • My opinion (yes, humble, I know many will disagree, and am not interested in a flame war) is that this allows them so much: and instead of doing "wrath of khan" (or whatever) in better graphics and with younger acters, they should focus on being relevant to today in exploration of themes.

Ideally, I'd say the conflict between the rising federation and the Klingon empire (china "threat" to usa), and the aftermath of a lack of Vulcan tutelage for Federation (a bit more gritty?).

  • @benofirefly Excellent points

  • As a kid I loved star trek. But it's old; and it's not very good (though phenomenal for it's time). They flew to the edge of galaxy with Kirk, does anyone remember that? And there was a barrier? Star Trek was awesome: but it had a lot of crap pilled up in the tvseries.

A great movie and a clean slate allow them to forget old storylines and retconning that disease of comic books- and focus on STAR TREK: exploration of space - leading to exploration of ethics and humanity. Whichwas thepoint of it.

  • @benofirefly Thing is, apparently the barrier was created years BEFORE Kirk, where this movie is what happens when Bana goes back in time and kills Kirks dad,Vulcan and spocks mother, so the Barrier would still be there.

  • @benofirefly And TOS was great for 2 seasons.

  • no i just dont like the way they made the new one.....i miss that atmosphere of the old ones....this star trek was made for the money and mainstream....Hollywood simply has no ideas anymore...and ppl like u are the ones who make sure that they will keep doing that...simply by saying the new star trek plays in a parallel universe makes me wanna spit on that dude who had that idea.....

  • I saw this in theatres :D it was amazing

  • This piece of music is stunning, particularly from 0:38 - 2:46.

I hadn't seen this film for years, then it was on TV a couple of weeks ago. I'd forgotten how much I love it. I hardly think it's the best Star Trek film, but it is, without a shadow of a doubt, one of my favourites. I always loved the music as a child. For the first film not to feature anybody from the original Star Trek, they did a good job. I love the original series, but this film really helped me get into Next Gen.

  • the show isnt bad, but all the new Stuff will never be as good as the Originials....kirk, mccoy, scotty, spock, zulu, uhura and chekov are the heros of my childhood...the last star trek was the biggest crap i ever saw in star trek universe.....

  • @alaurel81 What, the JJ Abrahams one? Are you a pseudo purist?

It was better than I, III, V, VII, XI and X.

  • @lukeskymac well thats ur opinion.....and i dont give a rats ass about it.....go with the mainstream lil boy....

  • @alaurel81 WATCH OUT, WE HAVE A BADASS OVER HERE!

But it was. And the whole industry and critics agree with it. And butthurt purists don't have a point in criticizing it for anything, really, ESPECIALLY the people that talked about plotholes or scientific inconsistencies... because almost all Trek movies/episodes had them, and Trekers ignore that.

Or maybe you're an elitist and doesn't like the idea of non-trekers enjoying the film?

  • A dislike? NOT AGAIN! THE LINE MUST BE DRAWN HE-ARE! THIS FAR AND NO FURTHER!

And IIIIII, will make them paaaaaay, for what they've done!

  • @lukeskymac Engage!

  • this should be a national anthem for all star trek fans everywhere

  • SSSSWWWUUUUPPP.......We are the borg...lower your shields and surrender your ship.....we will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own.....your culture will adapt to en-service us....Resistance..... is Futile......SSSSWWWUUUUPPP

  • Out of all of the Star Trek Movie themes, this one is my favorite.... this, and Wrath of Khan...

  • last part is so damn chilling, i would rather die then be assimilated

  • When I listen to this song, I hope one day, mankind will unite once and for all around space exploration and forget all our differences

After all, space is the ultimate frontier isn't it ? :)

  • Often play this in the car on a long drive. I adore Instrumental Movie Soundtracks

  • What a damn fine piece of music...

  • no!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  • Borg Queen came here and disliked the video.

  • I must say, it is quite rare to find a video with no dislikes on youtube. Way to go opus289. Great song, good quality. Cant ask for more ^_^

  • @Mines0000 Thank you...I'm trying to get better.

  • Absolutely beautiful. Of all the individual Star Trek movie themes, this is by far my favorite. The best TNG film as well :D

  • everytime i listen to this song. i feel like im going to cry. its so great!

  • thanks for posting

this main theme is so beautiful

    one of Goldsmith's best works

and describes Picard and his crew so well

    TNG forever

also great sound quality and neat picture

  • @benji1701 You're Welcome...thank you for the kind words!

  • thumbs up if you want this music played at your funeral or to the start of the first enterprise

  • @NonstopRam- First Mate on Enterprise, no question. Jim Kirk may have been speaking about the Captain's chair, but he says it best in "Generations": "...don't let them do anything that takes you off the bridge of that ship because while you're there, you can make a difference."

  • @blackknight6063 very much true

  • I like the opening theme... especially since this movie is one of my favorites from Generation while the other one is The Search for Spock even though that's from the original series...

  • 15 years, wow has it been that long! Insurrection has the best End Titles. BUT this has the best Introduction. This smooth track with the main cast credits rolling in and out of focus... still makes me fell grand after all this time. Bravo Jerry!

  • @LandoSolo2012 I forgot to add that opus289 is one of the best people on YouTube. Thanks for the uploads!!

  • @LandoSolo2012 While I don't know about that, you're welcome!

  • what would you be, Captain of some ship or first mate of the Enterprise?

  • It's a very impressive soundtrack !

  • I love this type of music. It makes me feel like we have a bright future ahead of us.

  • I remember when my school orchestra played this song. Everybody stood up and cheered.

  • @HikaruSolo I wonder how many people who heard you play ever saw the movie.

  • I wonder where Joel Goldsmith's music is heard because according to imdb, he made additional music with his father, Jerry.

  • that was film music!!!

  • <3 TNG forever.. greetings from germany...

  • <3 TNG forever.. greetings from germany...

  • <3333 so much :) TNG forever

  • Best soundrack ever.

  • When I saw this in the theater, I got very choked up at this opening theme. It still gets me teary eyed every time.

  • I think, the 8th film ist the best of TNG. Good story, funny and Action

  • Absolutely beautiful

  • Resistance is futile-You WILL like this music.

  • I would've loved it if they'd brought Lilly along with them into the future. I know, I know. The time police would have a bitch fit! But, I think she'd have made a great ship's cousellor. Plus, Alfre Woodard is regal, and beautiful!! "The Borg. Our most lethal enemy....."

  • I would've loved it if they'd brought Lilly along with them into the future. I know, I know. The time police would have a bitch fit! But, I think she'd have made a great ship's cousellor. Plus, Alfre Woodard is regal, and beautiful!!

  • an epic song from an epic movie.

  • This is excellent, thank you so much!

  • @fadsforwhatever You're Welcome!

  • Jean-Luc, blow-up the damn ship!

Noo. NOOOOOOOOO! *Glass smashes* * awkward silence*

    You broke your little ships..

  • This, I think, is his best work.

  • So hard to believe this film came out in 1996 - seems like just yesterday..

  • I cried when listening to the part beginning at 0:40

  • haven't seen the film in years but for some unknown reason i was humming this track. It took a while before I could recall what film I was thinking of. Thanks for the upload. Made my day to hear it again.

  • @MGDirty You're Welcome!

  • @MGDirty same thing happened to me.. haha

  • Very good quality thanks.

  • @Pak514 You're welcome, I appreciate the feedback!

  • IMHO best Star Trek movie and moste awesome Star Trek movie soundtrack.

This movie made Star Trek 4D. Means it bridged the timeline from the "near" future (21th) to 23th and 24th century. "Star Trek - Enterprise" continued this time bridging gracefully but this move starts 4D Star Trek!

  • best star trek score ever...

  • Best music!

  • "watch your future die!"

  • @agumon12 "Watch your future's end."

  • Awesome Score from a Awesome Movie! =D

  • Seriously memorable.

It follows the movie just right.

  • Anytime i think of this i can hear the Borg and their famous speech "We are the Borg, Lower your shields and surrender your ships. We will ad your biological and technological distrinctiveness to our own, your culture will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile!"

  • awesome score

  • Punisher...as always, thanks for the compliment!

  • @opus289 Appreciate you uploading these soooo much.

  • You're Welcome!

  • cool picture and good sound quality....
