im hitting a really bad fuel cut in my mazdaspeed....its nasty i bought bigger injectors but now there too big and there just sitting in my garage until i get a safc!!!this sucks lol but you gutta love turbo cars lol
Ok my Car Does The Same, I have a Glanza Running at 17 Psi.... And this Started Happening And a Friend of mine Told me its Was Fuel Cut... Now What should i Do...???? Help me out!!
if you have the right mods done and your engine can handle the boost hks fcd type k is a cheep way fo getting around it be sure you have a wide band o2 and meter so you know when you are leaning out your engine
As for the guys in the GSX's that are hitting fuel cut, you might want to try and upgrade your injectors, or get a tuning device and try to get our of your pig rich stock boost map. Almost every stock boosted car is in the 10's for AF/R's.
As for the guys with the GSX's, since your probably still on the stock ECU, your probably hitting 100% inj. duty cycle and your ECU is causing fuel cut to help save your engine.
To get around fuel cut in a MK3 you need a bigger AFM (V8 Lexus AFM) Accomidated by some larger injectors (550cc's are common). Once these have been installed with a new fuel pump, you can then tune out fuel cut @ low psi's, and it will be more around 20+.
Let me throw this out there for everyone whos asking about fuel cut. I have a MK3 supra so i can refer to it, not so much about the GSX guys or what but here we go.
The supra has a karman sensor placed before the turbo (AFM), and measures airflow in hz. Idle is around 5hz, and so forth. Once the car hits 1500hz (Turbo sucking in more air, more air = higher hz) it will hit fuel cut. Thats for our car that is. But it happens because your maxing out the AFM @ 1500hz.
Pretty much it goes like this. Your ECU is seeing too much air through the MAF, and doesn't know what to do with all that air. So the ECU shuts down. And then it's like hitting a brick wall. Do a boost leak test and maybe you can find where your leaking.
How's it running now

Once it hits 1500hz, BAM, fuelcut!

ya that was def fuel cut...i use to hit it before i got a boost controller and it tuned better

looks like some boost creep is another issue as well. Porting turbo + Tuning device will be handy.

Did you get bigger injectors? Cuz i burned up my exhaust valves from hitting fuel cut too much.. dont want to have that shit happen too ANYONE,,

Sounds like detonation to me.
I've never been in a 1J when it hit FCO, didn't imagine it would be that much different than a 7M.

Nah. Boost is strong, just the ECU.
