  • I know what you meant. Burns collected such tunes but he has been around since 1700s so is part of the tradition. Bach is different.

  • Actually the lyrics were written by Isobel Pagan, an illiterate Scottish poetess in the late 1700s/early 1800s. Burns admitted to "borrowing" her words ;~)
