After listening to Zinn & Chomsky I get this feeling that maybe they are right and its absurd to keep with this 911 thing. But then...I just have to check again the facts to reaffirm my beliefs, it was an inside job, and me feeling dragged out of this idea is just the consequence of these 2 guys.

@twitch01 Look into WTC 7. A whole building collapsed into its footprint, no plane crashed directly into it, and there was no mention of it in the 911 Commission Report. Also, in a google image search, look up "confession video bin laden", The still on the left is from the "Confession Video" that was used to tie bin Laden to 911, and the still on the right is an image of him from the late 90's. Genuinely compare the two and draw your own conclusions..

You say that freefall has to have no resistance, and all the potential energy of gravity. I've just given you an example where you are wrong, where freefall, according to you is taking place, but there is no acceleration (gravity's pull is negated) and a lot of resistance (equal to the pull of gravity), so your conditions of no resistance and acceleration due to gravity are not conditions of freefall, are they?

Nanothermite is specifically designed for complete ignition, there might be residue left over from the combination of the two parts, but you can also get the same residues from burning computers.... for example...
You admit that an object falling at terminal velocity is still in free fall, even though it is no longer accelerating, and is facing significant resistance. Your idea of freefall is flawed. Also, freefall in a building indicates structural failure, you can not determine the cause of that structural failure from a video, or the time it takes to completely fail. You must at least concede that point.
On the collapse bit, you are not a structural civil engineer, and although it might not make sense to you, that doesn't mean that your "freefall" could not take place. Also, you mention that I don't know the difference between velocity and acceleration. Please back that up.
You have no evidence of any black ops, or of any explosives. Thermite is not used as an explosive, I've played with it myself. Nanothermite, which is still in the experimental stages can be used for explosives, but there is no need, we already have other materials that are proven and commercialized. To go from that to black ops teams in the night is a giant leap of faith with no evidence. What would the elevator crew be doing rolling in miles of det cord, and workind in parts of the building that have nothing to do with elevators. How did they place explosives on these beams and leave them there with our anyone noticing? It is common for science experiments under controlled conditions to have unusual or unexplainable outcomes, that doens't mean the government did it. So, what proof do you have?

Ok, by your own definition for WTC 7, it isn't in free fall, but now that I've given you an example where we decrease the air resistance so that it can reach a terminal velocity, at which point the air resistance is strong enough that it counteracts the force of gravity to a degree that it is no longer accelerating. Once it reaches that point, is it still in free fall?

If it were actually measured with very sensitive equipment in a controlled environment, they could measure the impact floor upon floor and the deceleration that would take place however slight. That didn't happen, no such equipment was in place. Even in a demolition the "free fall" you're talking about doesn't exist.
I explained freefall to you, and you didn't understand what the word meant. I explained the difference between potential and kinetic energy and the transfer of energy, and you don't understand those concepts. Most buildings are made of empty space, I work in a 75 story building, and it is mostly empty space, otherwise there would be no room for offices. Also, free fall has no description of velocity, so it could mean the object is falling at 2mph when it impacts, or whatever the terminal velocity of a baseball is in our atmosphere. The acceleration of free fall would also be different on the moon than it would be here, or on Jupiter. So what we are seeing when a building falls or when I drop a ball is the transfer of energy to the object, and subsequently into whatever the object collides with.
Your understanding of physics is flawed. Free fall describes an object that moves with no acceleration except that provided by gravity. Once the object is moving it has kinetic energy, energy sufficient to smash and break things. By your definition, if I drop a baseball from a heighth onto a pane of glass, the glass wouldn't break, because all of the potential gravitaional energy was used to make the ball fall, and something else would be required to make the glass break.
I already answered both your questions, path of most resistance is not an accurate description, since gravity is pulling in the direction it travelled. For it to go any other direction, it would have had to overcome gravity, which would have been the path of most resistance. In any case, what is your view on what happened? Also, in a google image search, look up "confession video bin laden", The still on the left is from the "Confession Video" that was used to tie bin Laden to 911, and the still on the right is an image of him from the late 90's. Genuinely compare the two and draw your own conclusions..

They didn't use bombs though. It was nano-thermite, which was found present in a chemical analysis of the debris by a European university. The stuff slices right through steel when ignited. Supplementing the crash with the thermite ensured that the building would be leveled.

When Zinn says, "We have to know why people want to blow up our buildings..." it becomes self-evident that another question should first be answered: Who were the people who blew up the WTC buildings?
Strangely Zinn and other famous political analysts prefer to avoid that fundamental question. Why?
I believe they are afraid of the consequences of the answer, and that they think it is less dangerous (not for themselves, but for all of us) to focus their efforts on how 9/11 is being misused.

I mostly agree with Zinn (on most things), but I just can't agree with this. No matter which side of the debate you are on, you must be able to admit that if it could be shown that the Bush administration either had a role in making the attacks happen, or otherwise knowingly allowed them to happen, it would completely change the perception of the US government. It would change everything, from our laws to our foreign policy to our standing in the world. The truth should always be known.

I've just given you an example where you are wrong, where freefall, according to you is taking place, but there is no acceleration (gravity's pull is negated) and a lot of resistance (equal to the pull of gravity), so your conditions of no resistance and acceleration due to gravity are not conditions of freefall, are they?

You have no evidence of any black ops, or of any explosives. Thermite is not used as an explosive, I've played with it myself. Nanothermite, which is still in the experimental stages can be used for explosives, but there is no need, we already have other materials that are proven and commercialized. If you don't want to play along, that's fine ;) The first floors to buckle at WTC7 were lower floors, which carried with them all the weight of those above, in other words it collapsed a lot like a demolition, but it was caused by damage from fire which burned uncontolled for hours, and not from placed explosives. That's not true at all. Free fall refers only to the fact that gravity is the only force acting upon it. If it were actually measured with very sensitive equipment in a controlled environment, they could measure the impact floor upon floor and the deceleration that would take place however slight. That didn't happen, no such equipment was in place. Even in a demolition the "free fall" you're talking about doesn't exist.

Buildings may be used of steel, but they use just enough to keep the thing standing, they're made up mostly of air and emplty space, especially the design of the World Trade Center.

Also, free fall has no description of velocity, so it could mean the object is falling at 2mph when it impacts, or whatever the terminal velocity of a baseball is in our atmosphere. The acceleration of free fall would also be different on the moon than it would be here, or on Jupiter. So what we are seeing when a building falls or when I drop a ball is the transfer of energy to the object, and subsequently into whatever the object collides with.

Your understanding of physics is flawed. Free fall describes an object that moves with no acceleration except that provided by gravity. Once the object is moving it has kinetic energy, energy sufficient to smash and break things. By your definition, if I drop a baseball from a heighth onto a pane of glass, the glass wouldn't break, because all of the potential gravitaional energy was used to make the ball fall, and something else would be required to make the glass break.

The only facts that are known are that 3 steel framed buildings completely collapsed at virtually free fall speed. I agree that the truth will probably never be known, as long as secrets can be kept in the U.S., but disagree that searching for the truth is a waste of time. Frankly, I'm quite disappointed by Zinn

The CIA and all other instruments of class warfare need to be dissolved because these (real or pretended) external threats are being used for internal consolidation of wealth & power. Do that first, then worry about 911.
If there really is an external threat that poses a real & present danger ... then that's not really a good time to have corrupt Institutions that the people don't trust.
911 was a scam - but people who take out buildings are smart enough to fake a few 911 theories.
