Oh ok, it was DWEEZIL!. The dimwit side of zappa.....I knew something was terribly wrong about this ozzy thing, Frank beeing associated with a semi retard junkie and all
@cherryorchards A "dimwit" could not have put together such a dauntingly ambitious project as ZPZ. Ozzy isn't stupid either. You on the other hand....
@Gregorypeckory You didn`t just called me stupid, did you? because it looks like you did! Boy i hope i`m wrong, because that would make me really really mad!
but seriously, it breaks my spirit to know that a fan of Frank Zappa considers Zappa Plays Zappa an "ambitious project".
@cherryorchards Obvious troll is obvious, responds only to the person who takes the bait but not the person that actually said something that makes you look stupid.
It's just cool that two greats were put together. I love it when musicians cover each other and do it their style with respect for the original artist-like Sting and Zappa doing Murder by Numbers. Too cool.
The story I heard was that it was Sharon who didn't want Ozzy to 'dilute his brand', as they say.
I'm playing bass, Josh Freese is on drums. The version on Ozzy's Prince of Darkness has new bass and drum tracks. I was THAT FREAKIN' CLOSE (holds thumb and forefinger an inch apart) to being on an Ozzy album. :-(
At least I met Donny as he was coming out of the control room. Nice chap!
The story about this - as I remember it from 1991 - is that Dweezil wanted Ozzy to appear on his cover of Stayin' Alive for his Confessions of a Dprived Youth album. After they recorded it, Ozzy's record company would not permit him to appear on Dweezil's album, so Donny Osmond re-cut the volcals and thus Donny's version is the one most people know.
Obviously the tapes of Ozzy's vocals always existed so with the power of the internet it was only a matter of time before they leaked out.
this has to be very loud ! - it took me awhile to realize i like OZZY -- but it might be his good wife that finally did it for him - and he has great kids - พิซออนเดอรูฟ
The poster must think we're all idiots like him. Putting images of Frank on this video when he had nothing to do with it is pathetic. Dweezil plays one of the solos but isn't in the video. Best to just listen and not watch.

@chapter24 uh, frank absolutely did NOT write a lot of disco songs. he wrote a FEW parodies of disco songs. also (not to you, just dont really wanna post another comment), does anyone else notice how these are the same solos from dweezil's version. congrats ozzy, lotta hard work there -.-
Zappa did disco parody sometimes, like Dancin' Fool, which has a disco vamp in the outro. Also, in the eighties Zappa made little references to Stayin' Alive within other songs, like Approximate and Inca Roads. Dweezil doing the full song on his Confessions always seemed like a continuation of that Zappa joke to me.
This song is a one time collaboration project between Dweezil Zappa & Ozzy Osbourne and has nothing to do with Frank! Somebody paid for that project......
people who don't do drugs cant expand their minds XD

This is Dweezil Zappa .......Frank had nothing to do with this. This was originally recorded with Donny Osmond, for Dweezil's Confessions.
