  • Dam dogs! Put money in one end and get shit out the other just so you can step in it and have to pick it up, not the annoying barking pissing off the neighbors. Suspend them 30,000 feet in the air and they''d still be a waste of space and time.

  • oh and can ANYBODY tell me how to cure the rocks for a freshwater aquarium? i know you soak it in salt water for a salt water aquarium so do i just soak it in regular water for a freshwater??

  • i have a question. what do you mean by "live" rock? like does it grow stuff on it once its alive or what? i dont understand.

  • TO ALL WHO PLAN ON MAKING THIS...DO NOT USE ANYTHING BUT PORTLAND CEMENT. i tried to use mortar because i got some for free...dont do it. PORTLAND CEMENT. i tried mortar and everything crumbled like a biscuit. portland cement is much harder and works way better...the only way to go.

  • Great videos!!!! Can't wait to get started! Thanks! Do you have an aquarium and did you use these rocks in it? Don't think i saw a video.

  • i will have to do this again sometime.i have had a lot going on in my life.sorry.when i get the chance i will make more and finish it the rock so you can see.

  • Hey,

How long did it take for the rock to cure? How many days and how many water changes?

    Thanks!

  • dude you are the shhzit ! i bought a 55 gal with rocks which i thought to be "dead" so i was considering buying at least 5o lbs of "live" rock. I simply didnt know because im just starting my tank this week. just wanna say thank you for the info and i hope you don't mind additional question

  • INTERESTING VIDEO,,,,,HOWEVER...one thing I don't understand about CEMENT for aquariums..the Chemical alkali for making concrete hard is very strong. I am in hospital with 2nd degree burns from a concrete job.(..laying a carport floor) the concrete got down my boots and rubbed into my ankles. My question here is..Even after rock is made, because its so porous, cannot some alkali chemical still come out and poison the fish? I've heard of soaking and changing water, but I don't know

  • @froglobster you lay the rock in the water but chaange the water everyday when the water its in reaches 0 ph and salinity is when you put it in your tank

  • thank you.

  • Your stuff looks just like mine. Some other guys use the same stuff and it comes out white..

  • nice vid.. you can probably use 1 part ash grove cement and 3 part silica sand. and a little moose milk. Just an idea if you didn't know a good patch material thats a good formula for it.

  • hay Wayne you the man! I will be making some rock and I like the video keep making them

  • I used to live in Lancaster CA... I miss it. I'm thinking about moving to Rosamond.

  • Hey, Wayne.. Very good video.. Keep make more video. Any idea where to buy the coral sand and small rock you use to make the rock?

    Thank you man.

  • it is fine play ground sand and you can get it at Lows or Homedepot.

  • HAHA i kept thing you were saying semen. SEMEN what? oh cement..

  • Hey thanks for the videos. I have just set up my 55 gal tank and have 3 damsels and 1 5 lb piece of live rock from the store in it. I made about 70 pounds of the rock on Sunday. I am letting it sit in the sun now and will soon put it in water to cure. How long should I leave it in the water. Should it be salt or fresh. I have read so many things on the net I thought I would ask you directly since you have done it. Also since I really dont have much in my tank can I just cure it in the tank now?

  • Very interesting! Cannot help it, can you describe your tattooes you have?

  • Great demonstraton Wayne! Would there be any reason we couldn't use these rocks in a terrarium - or are they only for aquariums?

  • Lookin good Wayne! Great demo. Hope some other folks out there will start making their own reef rock and sharing the results too:)

  • your the man.. I don't have water today.. but if i do.. i will know how to make rocks thanks to you man..

  • This looks pretty good. Let me know how long the curing process takes and how long it takes to actually become become live-rock. My rocks have been in the tank for 5 weeks now and they are just now REALLY showing growth. They did have a starter pack in there along with some smaller pieces of live rock. I am thinking of starting up a "raw" tank like this with nothing live to start and am just curious about how long it is going to take to get things going.
