When I fought malek, I couldnt beat him, I never used Grenades the whole game soooooooo I decided to use adhesive grenaids to stick him then every other grenade to blow him up. Epic Jedi duel right? right?
When I first went against him I didn't know that you could destroy the captive jedi and so I waited for him to go through them all before finally killing him...
Well if they ever do a movie, at least we have the advantage of Malak having the prosthesis - you can have anyone you want do his voice (the original voice actor would do just fine though)

My first playthrough, I didn't even have the "Stun Droid" power to try and free the captured jedi... Malak would heal again, and again, AND AGAIN!!! The day I beat Malak with that save file was so wonderfully SATISFYING!

@mayte919 I actually thought of that, but once you go down that walkway to him he automatically talks to you, not giving you the time to place them around the battefield, unless you wanna place them on the walkway and let him corner you.
What I did for this first time is I figured he'll probably be using force immunity so I wore Mandalorian Battle Armor. Then I fought him head on with my saber till he ran to heal. After the conversation I would use Master Speed and take out the guys in the suspension fields. After I did all that I ran around a bit healing while doing it. Then when my health was full I fought him with combination's of Master Critical Strikes, Flurries, and Power Attacks. Eventually I beat him with barely any hp.
@MLGJeRiCHo Yeah, I had much more trouble with Calo Nord, by Malak I was a badarse Jedi god, master flurry + master heal allowed me to make short work of him.
the first time i played this... i tried really hard to go pure ranged / blaster spec - no lightsabers during the entire game - and it was a very epic (albeit tough) final battle with malak
See, the moment I saw him drain life out of those captured jedi, I go ". . ok, I'll do it too" and I simply thought of it as...the jedi lending me their strength rather than me om nomming their souls. Makes the fight a hellovalot easier when you absorb the jedi, and not malek.
lol the way i always fight malak is this:get those adrenalin boost thingys,thow all granades that u have,while running around the whole place from malak,then use force lightning lvl 3 or something,then heal,and repeat untill he dies after like 5 hours...one thing i dont like(and kinda do at the same time lol)is that malak is sooo overpowered!really hes the final boss so he should be a little,but if u stay in 1 place and fight with him,consider urself already dead in a few seconds...
yeah, this WAS a pretty challenging battle... but with decent character and a ton of medpacs its ok :) just use force lightning on the captured jedi and you're halfway through :)
I remember i could never kill him in direct combat, id always run my ass away and lay a mine felid, and watch him run through it like a dumbass, and spam him with grenades...
I have to say, for a game that wasn't hugely impressive in the music department this piece really takes me aback in its sheer ferocity. It differs from a lot of Star Wars battle music in that it has a sense of real maliciousness and violence to it. It gave the sense that Malak really wanted you dead and that you were fighting for your life.
If you use a dark side move on the trapped jedi there body and soul will be tormented, use a light side move and there soul becomes one with the force
meh i dint get what the big panic is.if oyu bring along enough of medpacs and use them through the ineventory then you dont need to spend thos moments to heal yourself.and if i required more force i would just beat him the firstime and after that destroy those jedi holder cells and i would get a slight boost to the force.but okey it would be best to do it at first becuse otherwise malka will use them to heal himself
when i hit this level back when the game first came out (i was like 13-14 at the time) it was around midnight and my brother and i were hungry so my dad sent out for pizza, good times
Geez. That final battle was ridiculous. I lagged the game by pressing "Y" with my twin lightsabers so I could pass the conversation trigger and plant every single mine I had at his feet. Then I went back, and he was at half health. "Yes!... WTF? Life drain?!"......
The last section of the game couldn't have been better. Going to the StarForge and facing waves and waves of dark jedi and sith troopers- and to the heart to face Malak. Man, I get a high whenever I even think about it
I am extremely agitated that TOR is made instead of a KotOR III. However, this music keeps me from being pissed off. Too epic for me to think of much else than the fight with Darth Malak. :)
@JMDub89 Games with the idea of "ultra realistic" graphics have minimal playerbase, almost always. Within a year or two later those games are forgotten about.
- people don't want to pay for reality.
- people want it to be runnable smoothly on their systems.
- technically those games are same graphic levels with just ADDED dozen filter effects (ex gears of war).
- some of them are horible as you can't even see in the game.
- for than likely games like those have bad gameplay too.
Exactly; graphics aren't the most important thing in games. Of course, I like great graphics as much as most people, but considering the type of game TOR is, and why they are designing it that way, I don't really care that it looks "cartoony".
@MrNagelfar It can, well it works on mine. I had trouble getting it to work but I got there in the end, look online (I can't remember how I got it to work)
@MrNagelfar Most classic games like this will eventually work on any Windows cause the community for it never dies. A while ago I played the old Red Faction on W7 even though it's normally not possible. But the community made some patch for it so it worked. I guess same goes for KotOR. Haven't really checked though. Finished this game so many times that it's pretty much boring me now everytime I play it. Such a shame.
what if they remade kotor but kept the cool story line and the music, but update the graphics add more levels possibly and add music from kotor 2 and other things like weapons and items. Also they could add more force powers to it like force crush and other powers, but also have the gameplay a bit like the force unleashed. THAT WOULD BE AWESOME !!!!
@ResurrectedTemplar Heh you're right, but I always hope sometimes lucas arts people look at my posts, andthink about what they're doing. But I think that if Lucas Arts browsed around platforms like youtube and actually care about what the fans think, we would have a KOTOR III already (and not a stupid MMORPG, I'm not paying a monthly fee for that), a new Jedi Knight, and maybe a new Battlefront.
And probably they would stop releasing new versions of the movies with new CGI.

@EmilioIsMyName I agree with you fully but I would like to use the gameplay in TFU2 to play as Revan with the purple and red lightsaber while beating the crap out of the Sith. I love the Force Unleashed series but KOTOR is the best.
obisidan is planning on doing kotor 3 apart from biowares mmo if lucas arts will grant them permission, there is also a pettition that everyone who wants to play a kotor 3 should sign, look it up.
@russianbear0027 ooh that a toughy I used 2 play it on windows 7 try installing the lowest package they have if u can't even get it installed. If u have it installed then I would try down grading the graphics. These might not work cuz windows 7 just kinda suck.
@masterplusmargarita heh yeah I had alot of trouble with him also, but I was so happy for adehesive and plasma grenades because they made it so much easier.
@greywolf1178 I recently found out how helpful they are. I had the stupidest idea on my first playthrough that all grenades where absolutely useless, so I just sold them whenever I got some. (The reason for this was that the first grenade I threw WAS crappy, so it didn't do any damage at all. After this, I started that stupid custom of mine)
@masterplusmargarita I killed him without even beating him. What is it with most people? you need to run from him and then when you get the chance, heal or attack.
Mine was more like: "a'right, BRING IT Malak! Let's settle this and.... why are you not doing any damage?... Wait.... did I forget to .... OH FOR F*CK SAKE, the difficulty it still set to easy, well - quickload!"
@russianbear0027 you have to go in your files of kotor (if you have bopc) and then select the old launcher. there you will find configure. klick on it and then disable movies. should work :p otherwise just look it up xD
@flashpeter91 Malak, besides being strong in the force, uses power called "Force immunity". It makes any player or npc who is using it immune to force powers, which cannot be broken by wisdom stats. Only change to strike at him is before he activates "force immunity" again. I've only managed to use force plague to him once, and it probably succeeded because I happened to use it (accidentally) in the right time. I've never have been able to do it again, though.
What I do is on LS or DS, I always have Death Field so I drain them to regain health and Force. Then if I'm a Guardian I use my Master Force Valor and attack him with my lightsaber.
theres also another easy method: you jsut run away destroying all jedi captive, and run away from malak, then you turn back and attacking, but do not finish the sequence and then you run again. That way he does not attack you :P
I felt guilty killing those innocent captives (even though they were PHYSICALLY dead), but it had to be done so that Malak couldn't syphon any more power from the poor souls. Damn you Malak!
@mandalorian9 It's possible, I can't say for sure because I don't know how much HP malak has. Fists do 1-3 damage base, Max BASE strength is 18(which adds 4 points to his damage), then gear maxed for damage and strength, adding another 5 to his damage(I believe). Master power attack adds 10 to your damage output. Simply: 1-3(Base) +4(STR) +5(Gear) +10(power Attack)= 20-23 on hit, 40-46 on critical. Without knowing Malak's HP I can't say for sure if it could 2 shot the dark lord.

See, the moment I saw him drain life out of those captured jedi, I go ". . ok, I'll do it too" and I simply thought of it as...the jedi lending me their strength rather than me om nomming their souls. Makes the fight a hellovalot easier when you absorb the jedi, and not malek.

lol the way i always fight malak is this:get those adrenalin boost thingys,thow all granades that u have,while running around the whole place from malak,then use force lightning lvl 3 or something,then heal,and repeat untill he dies after like 5 hours...one thing i dont like(and kinda do at the same time lol)is that malak is sooo overpowered!really hes the final boss so he should be a little,but if u stay in 1 place and fight with him,consider urself already dead in a few seconds...

yeah, this WAS a pretty challenging battle... but with decent character and a ton of medpacs its ok :) just use force lightning on the captured jedi and you're halfway through :)

I have to say, for a game that wasn't hugely impressive in the music department this piece really takes me aback in its sheer ferocity. It differs from a lot of Star Wars battle music in that it has a sense of real maliciousness and violence to it. It gave the sense that Malak really wanted you dead and that you were fighting for your life.

meh i dint get what the big panic is.if oyu bring along enough of medpacs and use them through the ineventory then you dont need to spend thos moments to heal yourself.and if i required more force i would just beat him the firstime and after that destroy those jedi holder cells and i would get a slight boost to the force.but okey it would be best to do it at first becuse otherwise malka will use them to heal himself

Geez. That final battle was ridiculous. I lagged the game by pressing "Y" with my twin lightsabers so I could pass the conversation trigger and plant every single mine I had at his feet. Then I went back, and he was at half health. "Yes!... WTF? Life drain?!"......

The last section of the game couldn't have been better. Going to the StarForge and facing waves and waves of dark jedi and sith troopers- and to the heart to face Malak. Man, I get a high whenever I even think about it

@JMDub89 Games with the idea of "ultra realistic" graphics have minimal playerbase, almost always. Within a year or two later those games are forgotten about.
- people don't want to pay for reality.
- people want it to be runnable smoothly on their systems.
- technically those games are same graphic levels with just ADDED dozen filter effects (ex gears of war).
- some of them are horible as you can't even see in the game.
- for than likely games like those have bad gameplay too.

Exactly; graphics aren't the most important thing in games. Of course, I like great graphics as much as most people, but considering the type of game TOR is, and why they are designing it that way, I don't really care that it looks "cartoony".

@MrNagelfar Most classic games like this will eventually work on any Windows cause the community for it never dies. A while ago I played the old Red Faction on W7 even though it's normally not possible. But the community made some patch for it so it worked. I guess same goes for KotOR. Haven't really checked though. Finished this game so many times that it's pretty much boring me now everytime I play it. Such a shame.

what if they remade kotor but kept the cool story line and the music, but update the graphics add more levels possibly and add music from kotor 2 and other things like weapons and items. Also they could add more force powers to it like force crush and other powers, but also have the gameplay a bit like the force unleashed. THAT WOULD BE AWESOME !!!!

@ResurrectedTemplar Heh you're right, but I always hope sometimes lucas arts people look at my posts, andthink about what they're doing. But I think that if Lucas Arts browsed around platforms like youtube and actually care about what the fans think, we would have a KOTOR III already (and not a stupid MMORPG, I'm not paying a monthly fee for that), a new Jedi Knight, and maybe a new Battlefront.
And probably they would stop releasing new versions of the movies with new CGI.

TFU and KOTOR are both Star Wars, and are comparable. TFU is more flash and awe than depth and quality.
It's good for a couple hours of force rape, but the old republic series has much more to offer.

@greywolf1178 I recently found out how helpful they are. I had the stupidest idea on my first playthrough that all grenades where absolutely useless, so I just sold them whenever I got some. (The reason for this was that the first grenade I threw WAS crappy, so it didn't do any damage at all. After this, I started that stupid custom of mine)

@flashpeter91 Malak, besides being strong in the force, uses power called "Force immunity". It makes any player or npc who is using it immune to force powers, which cannot be broken by wisdom stats. Only change to strike at him is before he activates "force immunity" again. I've only managed to use force plague to him once, and it probably succeeded because I happened to use it (accidentally) in the right time. I've never have been able to do it again, though.

What I do is on LS or DS, I always have Death Field so I drain them to regain health and Force. Then if I'm a Guardian I use my Master Force Valor and attack him with my lightsaber.

theres also another easy method: you jsut run away destroying all jedi captive, and run away from malak, then you turn back and attacking, but do not finish the sequence and then you run again. That way he does not attack you :P

@mandalorian9 It's possible, I can't say for sure because I don't know how much HP malak has. Fists do 1-3 damage base, Max BASE strength is 18(which adds 4 points to his damage), then gear maxed for damage and strength, adding another 5 to his damage(I believe). Master power attack adds 10 to your damage output. Simply: 1-3(Base) +4(STR) +5(Gear) +10(power Attack)= 20-23 on hit, 40-46 on critical. Without knowing Malak's HP I can't say for sure if it could 2 shot the dark lord.
