well here is what happened. 1. bad service. there was an over-heating issue, they put the processor right next to the graphics card. melted my dvd-rom drive. send me another one that didnt match the frame. 2. sent a tech over to fix it, all they did was replace the heat tape. 3. total over-heat with burned motherboard. total loss. no replacement. I have had a dell and currently on an HP, none of which have any of the issues.
The Arima chassis used in the m9750 is cool enough to use on your lap, the m5550 (guess) which Skylap has is known to have heating issues, mostly because of a badly placed temperature sensor in the chassis that AW used so the fans wouldn't turn on when the CPU and GPU got hot.
Thinking you can is differant than doing. Laptops have very sensitive cooling piping and airflow systems, if you damage them they will over-heat. The Alienware did that (but it was due to poor designs).
