There is no axe in this game, or any of the Legend of Zelda games, as I recall.

He uses the Biggoron Sword through most of the battle, obtained from doing a series of sidequests.

He also uses the Megaton Hammer at one point, obtained within the Fire Temple.

You know, in my version of the game, Ganondorf coughs up red blood. Why is it green here? Did some versions of the game censor it out or something by making it green? Then again, I have an early copy from around 1998 when it was first released, so maybe that's why.

Blood became green, blocks and the mirror shield were changed because they had Muslim resembling figures on them and the Fire Temple music changed as it had muslim chanting in the background.

it took me about.... 10 tries, 30 minutes in total to defeat him (that includes ganondorf [about 3 tries] escaping the castle [once] and defeating ganon [7 tries, the first 6 i ran out of magic and gave up, the 7th i figured out you can defeat him w/o light arrows])

This isn't legit. At 0:18, the player targets Ganondorf, which isn't possible during regular play. So the vid is either fake or hacked. I don't doubt that people have beaten him in extremely short timeframes, but without a cheat, it would have been done without targeting.

@linkfreak117 nintendo made several different cartridges that improved the game with each remake, taking out infidelities that made the game 'offensive'. you probably have the original one, the one that has the 'Islamic' background music in the fire temple as well. to some extent, those are hard to find.
