This video is brilliant! Great, haunting visuals, and gives a really great sense of isolation and loneliness. Some of the shots are incredible, such as her breath on the glass. This is hands down one of the best-made videos of the last 10 years. I could put it on a loop and not get tired of it.
I don't believe in Jesus. But I also don't have to pay attention to the words of this song and appreciate it as a rich mellifluous track that's ameliorating on a psychological level well beyond language acquisition.

I listened to the audio while I had other tabs open, and it's a great performance, but after just watching the first 10 seconds I knew it wouldn't be worth to see more. Just give me a straight shot up and down of the artist singing and playing, or I'm not interested. Music videos like this one only actually detract from the music itself. I love this song, not only because of it's beautiful sound, but also because it holds deep meaning to my sister, who had went into a depression after someone like a grandfather to her died. She was driving down the highway and this song came on. While it was playing, a truck with her "grandfather's" name on it was driving past her. After that experience she wasn't so sad anymore, she understood that he was in a better place.

What is it with the defensive relgions. I beleive she was trying to get an idea out. She says Jesus because that is her chosen faith, but she talks about prayer and angels which is mentioned in other religions. All the same being, she wants everyone of all religions to have faith no matter the faith, not to worry when life does not seem worth anything anymore go to your faith. I guess relgious but the melody and they sound of her voice make this song one of my favourites.
I agree with you, except that having a personal relationship with God doesn't necessarily mean you will have an "easy time" during the hard times. Sometimes the struggle is part of the growing process. However, that relationship with Him helps to sustain us and give us strength during those difficult times.
There is something slightly unhinged about this song. The lyrics are straightforward, but her delivery and the mood of the music makes me think there are some darker undertones.

@undyinghope27 I always felt like the character in the song had gone too far with her faith and was using it to justify some really horrible things that she was doing, namely child abuse. But that's just my own interpretation.

Bacon - I think what nate is getting at is that at its roots christianity is about a relationship with Christ and with everyone else on this earth, and not about doing religious/habitual activities to feel righteous.
Beautiful song, I just wish they hadn't chopped most of the bottleneck solo out for the video. Some songs go on longer than they should...this one however deserved the extra twenty seconds... it really adds to the emotional build up.
Faith isn't a subjective dynamic. Sincerity is nice - but impotent. What, or Who, you place your faith in is crucial. Plug into an empty socket, you won't have power.

I've lost someone very close in this "current" war, and the power this song gives off , pretty much sums up the true attiude of those in the company my late husband served with. I think the most interesting part about this song is about the special bond one who trusts in Jesus has with Him throughout their human lifetime on earth. Personally, I know that relationship and am thankful for it too. Thank you for putting the song on.

I love this song, not only because of it's beautiful sound, but also because it holds deep meaning to my sister, who had went into a depression after someone like a grandfather to her died. She was driving down the highway and this song came on. While it was playing, a truck with her "grandfather's" name on it was driving past her. After that experience she wasn't so sad anymore, she understood that he was in a better place.

This Human Being, This Beautiful Person, This Believer took the inspiration and shared her pain for us to hear and understand and to find comfort. Just her faith in Jesus. No Religion. No Government. What is it with the defensive relgions. I beleive she was trying to get an idea out. She says Jesus because that is her chosen faith, but she talks about prayer and angels which is mentioned in other religions. All the same being, she wants everyone of all religions to have faith no matter the faith, not to worry when life does not seem worth anything anymore go to your faith. I guess relgious but the melody and they sound of her voice make this song one of my favourites.

I agree with you, except that having a personal relationship with God doesn't necessarily mean you will have an "easy time" during the hard times. Sometimes the struggle is part of the growing process. However, that relationship with Him helps to sustain us and give us strength during those difficult times.

There is something slightly unhinged about this song. The lyrics are straightforward, but her delivery and the mood of the music makes me think there are some darker undertones.

@undyinghope27 I always felt like the character in the song had gone too far with her faith and was using it to justify some really horrible things that she was doing, namely child abuse. But that's just my own interpretation.

Bacon - I think what nate is getting at is that at its roots christianity is about a relationship with Christ and with everyone else on this earth, and not about doing religious/habitual activities to feel righteous.

Beautiful song, I just wish they hadn't chopped most of the bottleneck solo out for the video. Some songs go on longer than they should...this one however deserved the extra twenty seconds... it really adds to the emotional build up.

I've lost someone very close in this "current" war, and the power this song gives off , pretty much sums up the true attiude of those in the company my late husband served with. How can anyone truly listen to the words of this song and not feel the" REAL PAIN" of those serving our country with pride and honor.
