This scene contradicts lots of what Estus Pirkle said in the movie. THe kids have their ear drums punctured so they can't learn about christianity but another scene in the movie has the kids being taught that Communism is good. Really weird, but Estus Pirkle was heavily exxagerating what the real soviet invasion would be like--which would be much worse than this

True, this movie is anti-communist, cold war hysteria, but lets remember that there were & are regimes in the world which force this kind of hardship on its citizens. It could be in the name of any ideology, and this movie certainly exploits the hardships faced by Christians in Communist states, but this happened under Stalin, Mao & Pol Pot. It also happened non-Communist states, like El Salvadore, Chile, and now, Sudan.  Be careful when mocking this kind of suffering, because it's real.

Well I saw this movie and the entire series during revival back in the early 70's and I still remember them and search for THE BURNING HELL>. It's incredible and I do believe this as well...
