I do it two ways. I do it where my back is doing most of the work, then ill drive it with my legs. Its a very good workout when combined with log splitting lol
Unfortunatly I have far more lower back strength and hand strength then I do leg strength I got a 600 pound and I flip it all day when I started doing it your way it really started working out my legs more thanks
Alright, i just brought home my tire, its only about 500lbs. After flipping it five or six times my forearms are really sore. Is that normal or am i doing something wrong?
@rockstr56 I am familiar with this concept of "work". I have lifted more weight then most men my age, being a former powerlifter and a current highland games athalet. I am also familiar with injury and if my sore arms are a sign of incorrect technique then it would be nice to know. I have no need for smart ass comments. Thank you.
@spicyfuckinmchaggis Im sorry man lol. Its just taxing your forearms and causing lactic acid to build up which is a by product of the ATP-PT procces. I was just making a joke but it was dry and i apologize
@rockstr56 My bad dude, i over-reacted. Kinda had some stuff goin on earlier. I have done a bit of research since my original comment was posted and i found out that the tread on the tire that i use is too deep, therefore it was putting alot of force on my inner arm.
@rockstr56 Was damaging, i have gotten a new tire with shallower treads so i can get my hands around the edge of the tire. The new tire is 650lbs but i can lift it easier using better technique.
I just found my first tire on the side of the road! Called my neighbour to help me get it into the back of my truck. I did exactly what you said. I tried to dead lift it. I tried your way and wow what a difference! Thanks for the tip!
Just did it for the first time to switch things up a bit and it is a very good piece to a routine...true dinosaur strength development. I posted the video as well of my first Tire flip(s)
Im guilty of trying to do the dead lift motion while doing tire flips.

@spicyfuckinmchaggis is it damaging your arm, or is it just working it hard?

@spicyfuckinmchaggis I would of thought that it would have worked your forearm muscles so they can grip the tire

How heavy is that tire? and is the knee kick really a better technique? especially for beginners or should I push with both feet instead?
