  • 4:16 you've got to realize there was no real special effects, they were actually throwing darts and he actually had to time out his dodging. Holy shit I was scared for him for a second.

  • 3:32, LMAO!!! "Hoothz idea wathz the eyethe tray?"

The expression on his face is priceless~~

  • Rest in peace, Ernest good buddy.

  • Loved Ernest when I was a kid. Ernest goes to Jail was my favorite.

    I miss him.

  • JIM VARNEY IS ONE OF THE GREATEST ACTOR IN THE WORLD, HE'S UP THERE WITH CLARK GABLE AND JIMMY STEWERT.

  • *light comes on * "I'm a bad dream!"

  • Jim Varney made over 4,000 commercials as Ernest. Four thousand! That is unreal. What's even more unreal is that he had the ability to churn them out without making people grow sick and tired of seeing him. His commercials made me smile every time. He was a good actor, a funny comedian and a great human being. I know he's in a better place, but I do miss seeing him on my tv every day. Thanks for the many years of making me and countless others laugh. Varney, you are the best at what you did.

  • Mastadon is in the suggestions. Oh yeah! I miss JV. Such a funny dude and made really good comedies. Him cussing was alittle shocking but I loved it.

  • I missed this guy :(

  • who is vern?

  • gotta love my cousin lmao

  • poor Vern Ernest always was in his house

  • He died to early!

  • i want a jim varney tatoo lol

  • i miss you!!

  • ".... shit.. " R.I.P. Jim hilarious!

  • Long live ernest, the world greatest person that ever lived!

  • And answer the phone.

  • It's so funny to see Ernest being beeped out saying the four letter word. Hilarious!!! R.I.P. Varney.

  • Man I sure do miss ole Earnest! Saw Earnest goes to Camp the other day, the memories :D

  • Good Night

    IMA BAD DREAM

    Here I am again

HAHAHAHAHA I think I hurt myself laughing

  • ahhh i didnt know he had passed.... and only 51 years young....

  • I wonder if there are Ernest impersonators that will keep Jim Varney's spirit alive.

  • @MechaTailsMK2 Tried and failed unfortunately, they overdid the character.

  • @CrazedWolfen Yeah, but think of Vegas with a character like that.

  • @MechaTailsMK2 yeh still wouldn't be the same... No one can copy him perfectly.

  • he reminds me of my uncle lary

  • @MrGogogirl0 he reminds me of my uncle gary haha. and i'm not joking either. but he's dead too, so that sucks

  • I don't know why, but I always loved his eyes.

  • This video could make anybody's day.

  • Jim Varney is gone, but we'll always have Ernest

  • .. just put that ee-bee daa-naa-haa. ull yee nib gee? uh lee-ba-doo-ba-dee... good night!

nothing as timeless as ernest commercials!

  • One of the best!! Forever!!

    Love you Jim, RIP <3

  • At the end someone says, "Kathy Cherry I don't believe you did that." I might have the name wrong.

  • Jim always made clean movies but it was funny to see him get bleeped. Jim did Ford commercials. Mike Rowe does Ford commercials. Jim pretended to have ants in his pants and Mike really did have ants in his pants during the "Alligator Farmer' episode. There is a lot of similarity between these two. But there will only be one Jim Varney and one Ernest P. Worrell. No one else will ever have that Worrell charm. KnoWhutImean?

  • you know, I could see Mike Rowe from "Dirty Jobs" doing a modern day version of this though no one can fully replace Jim....

  • @ViperSRTnACR Only Mike Rowe can come close and yet it still will never be close enough.

  • Mr. Varney reminded me of my other comedy favorites. He was like a one Stooge show :D

  • PRIZE

  • "Marrrrvel turkey Vern" Shit!

  • Pancakes on parade!

  • Ernest is more entertaining than FRED.

  • Earnest brought vaudeville back to TV

  • "shit" lmao

  • He's got your four basic food groups: beans bacon whiskey and lard!

  • @xxPatheticEmoxx right on! XD

  • My aunt was a nurse at the doctors office that Jim used to go to before he died. He was a really intelligent man, and incredibly nice. His only gripe was how many people thought he was actually inept like his Ernest character, it didn't stop him from doing the character but he was actually extremely smart and well read.

  • @eternal0star Did your aunt ever meet him?

  • @jebAZ09 Well... yeah. Otherwise I wouldn't have been able to make those statements about his being well read, and nice. :P

  • @eternal0star I knew he was very intelligent. He did 'Ernest' so well, that people actually thought he was. Whenever there's a Jim Varney show on, everyone always refers to him as 'Ernest' even though he wasn't playing him at the time.

  • I grew up with Ernest movies, and loved every second of them. Man I miss Jim Varney like crazy, he had such a good brand of humour.

  • @MrSlowSkyline I know I died inside when my parents told me he'd passed. I couldn't believe it. Could you even imagine the great films that would be around today had he not died.

  • I could just sit down for an hour lookin at all of the faces he can make

  • I have to say, I miss Jim Varney. Then again, I also miss Crazy Eddie.

  • 3:38 "The line is......GYOOOOSH!!!" Dropdead funny as hell.

  • Here I am again! Im that meatloaf!!

  • Woooow... I remember watching this collection on his Greatest Hits VHS as a kid. RIP, dude, you were one funny-ass SOB. <3

Am I the only one that sees the resemblance between Jim Varney and Mike Rowe?

  • @arashinight Nope, There was another ernest video where someone was saying that and I see it too.lol

  • @Aiglos Good to know I wasn't losing my mind.

  • @arashinight Nope. There's a big resemblance.

  • I miss Ernest!

  • jjjj

  • You just can't get comedy like that anymore

  • I MUST find some Mellow Yellow now!!!!

  • how old was he when he died

  • that dart almost got him

  • Its hard to believe he died from cancer, Jim was so Full of Energy

  • do they still make mellow yellow?

  • @GroverKent REALLY? where can i get it (btw i live in canada)

  • @werewolfnomore44 I don't know where you can get it in Canada... I usually see it in grocery stores and such in the soft drink aisle, where they sell them in the liter-sized bottles, or in six-pack cases of cans and such.

  • @GroverKent thx

  • EVEN OL' ERNEST MADE BLOOPERS---HA!

  • I wish that Jim was alive so he could have done the voice of slinky dog in Toy story 3 .

  • Guy was such a good sport XD

  • You are probably making god laugh up there....omg this is just too sad. No more slinky, no more ernest, no more commercials.....why do all good people die early?

  • @mrj0nny5 A guy my dad used to ride Harley's with haha. I dunno.

  • "PANCAKES ON PARADE....SHIT!" LOL

  • 1:40 - 1:45 i love that face.

  • check my site out do i look like jim ? lol

  • he keeps saying shit hehehe

  • You have to have a good sense of humor to do all those takes. That's work.

  • I luv the hand coming in the side of the screen @4:06!

  • I think it's hilarious at 3:40 when he snarls out "GEE-YOOOOOSH!"

  • I like Ernest pity that it is not :(

  • Wow Ernest has fast reflexes. He dodged the dart that was being thrown at him. RIP Ernest

  • does anyone know where i can watch the E True Hollywood story on him.... I cant find it anywhere online and I cant seem to ever catch it on tv or find out when it comes on again.

  • Ernest was my hero, he was the Funniest person who evered live

  • Im a bad dream, Im that meat loaf, only a genuis could think of the things he could that quickly, an absolute comic genuis.

  • I would have died from laughing if I was working with him, I still bust a gut watching him and I miss him!! A true american original, the funniest ever. RIP

  • I miss this man and his talent so much!

  • hey is sooo funny

i didn't know he died till last nite when we watched the family guy where peter brought him back to life i was like HE'S DEAD and my mom's boyfriend was like ahh ya

  • aw shit man I didn't know that.

  • I didn't know man

  • Hey Vern, it's Ernest was one of my fav shows.

btw i really think u should do a resident evil 2 lets play.i loved the first one

  • thanks for the sense of humor, we miss ya bro

  • I LIKE THIS

  • ME TOO

  • What I don't get is that he played Jed Clampett in the newer (well... 1994 -ish) movie, "The Beverly Hillbillies" and nobody hardly ever mentions that one, I thought he was even better than as Ernest!

  • YOUR RATE NEVER GOES DOWN IT IS IMMORTAL

That is pure genius right there =)

but then again, he was a pure genius.

  • R.I.P. Jim 'Ernest P. Worrell' Varney!

  • I heard that Jim Varney was a Shakespearian actor. True? Anyone?

  • true

  • Just do a search on JIM VARNEY SHAKESPEARE and you will find some video of Jim actually reciting some Shakespeare on YouTube.

  • @MyceliaProductions42 He sure was. He was a very classically trained actor, and in real life had a near-genius IQ... he just ended up being pigeon-holed as Ernest and similar roles (Jed Clampett, Slinky Dog, etc).

He truly was a very versitile performer. One of a kind.

  • LOL,I wonder who was that was calling Ernest in the middle of commercial filming?

  • The commercials were shot at director John Cherry's house in Nashville. Yeah, talking about shooting on a small scale. The children's show he did in 1988 was shot at his own home in White House, Tenn.

  • Okay yeah I thought as much where they were filming, thanks for that tidbit of info.

  • Ah, to have a neighbor like Ernest.

  • I actually hung out with him at an airport bar in Virginia for a couple hours. He was one seriously funny dude.

  • i envy you so much

  • @utoobia You were so fortunate. I'm so jealous.

  • never sold out RIP Jim

  • whoa i remember all of this when i was just a kid i actually had the greatest hits vhs that had this clip

  • does anyone know where i can find the blooper where Ernest leans on a big pot and the lid hits him in the face? i think it was a midas commercial but i cant find it anywhere.

  • Loughing out loud X'D

    Thank you Jim, RIP

  • 1:12!! lol

  • Jim Varney i love you so much!

  • Jim Varney died at his home nine years ago today.

    RIP.

Thanks to sites like YouTube, his talents live on for so many to enjoy and appreciate!

  • i luv 1:29 to 1:37

  • 2:56 Thats gets me all the time

  • You should rename that to:

"Ernest's Commercial Bloopers: 'I Never Make Misteaks'"

  • :P I'm guessing the typo was intentional?

  • X3 "How's that meatloaf?"

  • He says "I'm that meatloaf"

  • RIP jim varney, you brought laughter to my childhood

  • Varney was a huge part of my childhood. RIP ol buddy.

  • Jim Varney was a true unsung legend. From Fernwood2night to The Beverly Hillibillies Movie. He was subtle yet versitile. I was so shocked to hear of his passing, yet with my movie collection and YouTube here - he'll always be alive forever. Thanks Vern. :)
