  • I love this tune - amazing! I 'm really wanting to learn songs whereby you're not reliant on electric guitars, amps, effects and backing tracks. This then is the perfect kind! Do you have a free tutorial with tab for this????? Amazing!

You are truly talented. I understand the misspent youth comment. Unfortunately, I did not spend it learning guitar. I am working on it now.

  • You are the best, i like as you play guitar , you are many fun. i want learning a playing as you the blues.

  • Grandeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • This song is actually called "Windy and Warm", which was written by John D. Loudermilk and popularized by Chet Atkins in the 1950's. It's actually an old country song. Not really ragtime. But this gentleman plays it beautifully, so no complaints here.

  • Comment removed

  • Neat dwelling too.

  • you are what it's all about, THAT IS RAG TIME at it's best.

  • man you're an outstanding rag time guitar player ... thanks for all this ... i play rag too ... I'll purchase your video soon ... thanks a lot

  • Jim. Recently bought one of your instructional videos with 3 x songs plus a freebee (Key to the Highway) tablature and vocals. For the equivalent of three pints of Stella Artois at current Manchester city centre beer prices I have invested in a significant genre of the Blues. I have extended my knowledge of the acoustic guitar, and I have about 90 minutes tuition from one todays leading Bluesmen whenever I wish.......................... ..Yeah!

  • Nice!

  • is this in standard tuning?

  • Yes.

    Is standard tuning.

    Normally in A minor.

Written by John D. Loudermilk, but finished by good ol, Chet. ;)

You can go see the story here on Youtube.

    Great fun to play. :)

  • How about posting a cover of Son House's "Deathletter Blues"

  • First part is called Windy and Warm. Nice hat, you would look good in a suit like Robert Johnson.

    Well done sir

    ; )

    The N.I.

  • Leon would be proud !!!

  • man that is slick

  • Love that sound and your style.

  • Great performance!! And the smile at the end let me know you really did want to be there after all.

  • nice

  • 5 stars. Great performance. The second one sounds like a mix of Doc's guitar and Black betty. The third one is Diddy wah diddy, sounds perfect. Step up and go at the end is also very good.

  • man you are awesome....ive been playing for about 15 years. nowhere near as good as i should be but i have my own style and i enjoy it.. i decided to actually try to learn to play ragtime guitar a couple of weeks ago...and man it is so hard... i play mostly blues myself.. and im pretty good...when i try to do this i sound like i just started guitar!! i cant seem to hit the right strings...all the tabs are so precise! i am a sloppy player!! where can i find some lessons online? or something!?

  • google art of ragtime guitar. it has a pdf and samples and is pretty good.

  • Now that's fingerpicking!

    What's with the capo?

  • windy and warm, cool rendition!what is the rest of the stuff you play? great playing!!!

  • Hi,

Can't remember the second one - I think I picked it up from a Guy Davis disc sometime ago. I tend to hear things that come out later on, rather than methodically learn pieces. 3rd and 4th are Blind Boy Fuller ragtime songs.

    Thansk for you comment

    Jim

  • Big respect!

  • wow, just wow, such masterism, thats right,a new word for how good you are at ragtime

  • very good, merci pour ce petit morceau sympa !

    Nice music

  • he is chuck's norris dad

  • WONDERFUL!!! But where´s your smile? Aaaah there in the end it is :)

  • Man, that's movin'! thanks for sharing your talent! You are incredible!

  • Great picking!

  • Beautiful, and fun tricks involving the competing lines. If that's how your youth was spent, there was nothing misspent about it.

  • I want to be able to play like this so baaaad!! I just can't get my thumb to move back and forth! does anyone know of any lessons or anything for begginers? Thanks!

  • Do it slowly... don't play any faster than you can do it cleanly and repeat nine million times.

  • This is extremely inspiring, thanks alot for sharing. The melodies flow so neatly, I really wish I could play real ragtime like this (and hopefully some day, I will).

  • DANG did you see that pinky work?

    That's pure craziness!

  • I hope ragtime makes a comeback in todays music. You never know! Loved this medley.

  • very entertaining - strong sound

  • nice!

  • very good, merci pour ce petit morceau sympa !

    Nice music , thanks!!!

  • Nifty! Well played keep it up...

  • Just when I think I one of your other videos is my favorite I hear this one. Now I dont know.

To say you are awesome is a gross understatement. Keep em coming.

  • Thanks for your great comments. Results of a mispent childhood mostly.

    Jim
