The music has such an icy feel to it, not so much from xylophone/etc notes like others, but from the mechanical coldness.

You see so many 'ice dungeons' in games, but this one easily is the best. You have to hunt the bosses down, you're joined by other allies - it's like an actual battle. Another thing I love about this game; in Zelda and such rarely do the bosses have any buildup or backstories, but these ones do.

And the clocks & machinery compliment the cold empty feeling in such an eerie way

@austinthebookworm5 Ok, the second I'll let some else have at it.

1) Because that would mean Oki would have to be there, and that would create a paradox within the game. Ergo, Oki wasn't worthy of boarding the ark in the first place and he, along with the developers, knew that. If you look in the gallery, you'll notice Capcom at first wanted to put the twins in there, but realized the heavy contradiction it would create, so the dropped the idea.

2) It wasn't poorly designed. It was more of a boss rush then a temple. And it's also more like you're done messing around with their games. It's time to fight!

Oh and it gives it more of a 'This is serious business'.

that's a very fair point, but I was expecting an epic, amazing dungeon like all the others. oh well, it's not like the bosses weren't very fun to fight, and I love the game regardless

Apparently Ezo Fuji is an actual volcano. It's not Mt. Fuji that Wawku Shrine is located at but Mt. Yōtei, which is also known as Ezo Fuji due to its resemblance to Mt. Fuji. It is found in Hokkaidō, which is where Kamui is in the game.

Aah, for a long time I haven't heard this song. A game music is usually hard to be appreciated precisedly without the background, so it sounds strange for a moment. But, the more I hear to it, The more I feel the chill somehow, finally the cold atmosphere is "felt" without seeing it.
