  • Very beautiful.

  • yeah i wish i was a 90's kid too.good music days.

  • wow. major major flashbacks

  • yeah, it is very Bowieish, but Mr Jones must be proud of his offspring

  • They're The Smiths's heirs!

  • This song was a big hit when I was in my early twenties. Great stuff, brings back beautiful memories!!! And still sounds fucking awesome!

  • agree !

  • The opening line is, "She can start to walk out if she wants", a lot of the lyrics for the first album are like that, i thought Anderson said "I'm an arsehole" instead of "I'm an airsign" on "Sleeping Pills".

  • Actual Robert Christgau!

Wordy rock can be breathless and too full. Brett's phrases just fit: "It's there in the platinum spires/It's there in the telephone wires", "We shake shake shake to the trumpet/and through the slippery city we ride"

  • Wow I so wish I was a 90s kid. I would have love to have my teenage years when Suede were together and at there best!!! unbelievavly amazing, unlike the emo shit arround nowadays.

  • I was there n that wasnt that great!!

every time seems better then the new one. i use to say what you did on the 60's.

enjoy the scene now so you wont miss it.

  • @TheDaughterofsin with you bro. hate emo's they're so idiot. dont worry after a few years they'll be all dead they'll bleed them selves dry using razor blades.

  • Still epic, brilliant and fresh after all these years. One of their best.

  • Bloody good times!!! xxxxxxxxxxxx

  • phenomenal

  • lets chase the dragon

  • Their greatest song ... what does Brett sing in the beginning? "because, star"??

And "Let's chase the problem", or "Let's taste the dragon"?

  • She can star

    &

Let's chase the dragon (drugs reference)

  • Start: She can, start, to walk out

Let's chase the dragon - drug reference to taking heroin i think

  • Brett sings She can! start! to walk out! when she wants!

dice let's chase the dragon...it was something inbetween ;)

  • i think he sings "she comes, start" or whatesoever

  • I was 14 when it came out...shit!

  • Should be considered a direct decendent of the 80's Smiths

  • True say. they are definitely in the same vein. I think that Bernard is a slightly more talented guitarist, and his towering styule is where the real limits are set. Bretts voice is much smoother than Morriseys, though not always as deep and impactful.

  • i'd say i prefer suede to the smiths if brett's lyrics were as good as morrissey's... i agree about bernard. suede b-sides>smiths b-sides

  • Truly a great song from a great band its a shame they split.

  • hahaha lets chase the dragon!

    what a junkie!

i love him so much so sexi, but so junkie D:

  • All about the guitar and the voice...timeless stuff.

  • youre so btfl

  • Definitely one of the best bands from the entire Britpop scene, such a lovely voice and such a great tune!!!!!

  • i love this song this is the best song of all times OF ALL TIMES :@

  • One of the BEST VOICES in Britpop!!!

    So young indeed!!

  • London early 90's ....i was there

  • so absolutely do I!

  • beauty song

  • ahhh ...maravillosos 90

  • soo epic

  • Utterly fantastic.

  • Great song. Youth and innocence are being destroyed by heroin addiction.

  • SO HOT

  • i love brett ssoooo much

  • yes I agree suede is better than Oasis. Oasis are not as good as stone roses.

  • vas a lo fácil, wapito de cara.

y si fuera gay, qé? te preocupa?

es el cantante de uno de los mejores grupos de los 90, q no es poco. lo siento, tu nunca llegarás a serlo, guitarrita.

  • I love listening to this song. It's a shame that Bernard left the group. His guitar work could have taken some of those songs on Coming Up to the next level. I still have Suede and Dog Man Star in the mix on my ipod.

  • Suede rules.

  • what did he sing in the first four words?

  • She can start to walk out when she wants

  • grande bella !!!!!

  • I love the intro

  • suede ur the best i

  • Youth, is wasted on the young. But, always remembered (and appreciated), by the 'not quite as young'.

    Suede shine forever.

  • well said

  • lol....he's not gay.

  • He's not. It's all about good marketing strategies XD

  • Uh yes he is. Nothing against him, just stating facts.

  • Me gusta...me lo recomendo Ariadna

    Juan Manuel

  • Haven't heard this since it was new. Great song, It reminds me if a girl I used to date. Wonder what happened to her.

  • she died in a horrific car crash and came back as your pet dog

  • good Brit- times !

  • The Smiths, Verve, Nirvana, even earlyish REM the Suede!

    Coment:

  • This is so enchanting! Pity that I didn't know them when they were the age here. I am now making up all I missed on Suede~

  • sad

    Brett is amazing

  • I love Bernard so much!!!

  • brett is still in my heart, whatever never change

  • amen

  • lol bernard butler looks quite the poof in this holding his guitar that way. Awesome song though and awesome bad, well they were. The 21st century killed them off like many other great bands of the 90s.

  • Well maybe my favorite music video of all time. No other band make me felt like Suede. And i was huge fan, and i really tried to like Coming Up, but well the magic wasn't there anymore. I dont think it was just cause of Richard, anyway it was commercial record but it wasn't Dog man star. The best live ever ever saw was Suede with Richard touring Dog Man Star 1995. Never ever every felt that way in a concert.

  • muito boa musica...rifs da guitarra...uuuaauu...

  • Although I hear Death wispering in my ear, I still feel...so young!

  • Brett Anderson, he's so handsome, I just love him =)

  • suede...ahh....lovely...the first album i ever bought was dogmanstar...

  • hammerguitarre!!!!!!

  • that guitar riff is hypnotic.

  • still actual

  • Brett you need to come back right away

  • Mind blowing!

  • lol @ info =)) :D

  • In 1993 I went to see Suede at the Palace in Hollywood (15 years ago! lol). The energy was like nothing else. Maybe seeing The Smiths in 1985 would have been the same, I dunno. But this was a religious experience.. The crowed swooned and swayed through the whole show, entranced by the whole spectacle and trying to get close to Brett who seemed inhuman or untouchable.

  • It reminds me when i was 20 !!!

Great song , best years .

  • brett is hot as hell , even now he is still hot, ..... suede the tears, suede...the tears same shit hahah for all the suede lovers listen to the tears

  • Killer guitare riff. I love it!! OrangeKatzlan is an idiot. Radioheat is boring.

  • This still sounds good, even better than the first time. When will you fucking monkey finally realize that not everyone's tastes are the same as yours, musically or otherwise. You know you're just gonna get more hate and nothing will be solved in the end right?

But then again, you're just a stupid troll so fuck off to under your bridge and get your head out of your ass.

  • You are talking bollocks yourself - Germany have produced some of the best philosophers and composers this world has ever seen.

I think you need to open your mind a little as it's views like this that make people view us Brits negatively.

  • so sad.

  • i like this 'so young' !

    thanks for upload. ^^

  • so sick

  • Bernard Butler. What a guy

  • When were young we wan't to be older.

When were older we want to go back.

But were on a one way rode, no u-turns possible.

  • The ones who are young and wish to be older are simply stupid.

  • Ci4nyde: 100% agree.

  • Apparently 'By The Sea' (which also starts with a similar 'she can walk out anytime...') ws written around the same time as this but somehow only appeared on Coming Up. So Young is one of their best ever songs imo, esp that piano bit at the end...nice vid too.

  • anyone knows the first few phrases he sings before he starts with "because we're young"? i can never catch it. i love this song.

  • It goes:

    She can

    start

    to walk out

    if she wants

  • "She can

    start

    to walk out

    when she wants...

  • thanks, it was nearly indecipherable to me

  • yeah, it's a bit difficult, i read the intro in a website called The Essential Suede, there's where i got to know what Brett said in the intro.

  • I miss Suede so much. They were one of my top bands of the 90's. What a voice!

  • Brett is definitely one of my legends.

  • Great band, dreamy video.

  • Wonderful song!

  • What happened to this type of glam-y music, all Bowie / Smiths / Pulp with a sense of style? Britpop is so painfully sincere now, and going in this dreadful U2 direction, where all the songs are about the world's problems or whatever.

  • Yeah!!

What happened with this type of Stylish Bands!!

I would liked so much be more older in that time

  • You are so...right!

  • You are so...right!

  • good band pretentious video

  • I disagree perfect video for this song.

  • Suede was a great band.

It´s a damn shame they split up :(

  • The word beautyfyll and beauty in general is used for the female gender. With that said i understand your subtle comments.

  • beautyful*

  • Such An Amazing Song

Brett Is The Definition Of Beauty

  • I remember a review of them playing in nyc during their one US tour, calling him "sylph like".

    Perfect.

I wish I had a time where I could have been called that....but I think Brett captured it in perfect sylph fashion.

I admire them for coming from nothing, and becoming everything they gave us.

True artists. These are the people our civilization should honor.

  • Brett Anderson is one of the most beautiful creatures created by god.

  • Hear! hear!:) But I do think the devil had a little to do with it.

  • one of the last of the truly great bands which includes the manics radiohead and very little else

  • i used to be really big on suede. still got their albums. Bernard Butler, what a great guitarist :)

  • Suede and Dog man star was so much better than definatley maybe and morning glory. Noel gallagher always slags suede off but over all suedes music has been better and they split up at the right time. I also wanna give a shout out to 2 suede songs on there last album that were amazing astro girl and lost in tv suede classics!

  • Suede were just better than Oasis period! Oasis were just trying to be The Stone Roses, just look at Liam's stage act, it's a ripoff of Ian Brown! But Yeah the first two Suede albums are classics!!!

  • Coming up was classic too. I mean half of that album was released as singles and its actuley the none single that was even better like. By the sea, picnic by the motor way and the chemistry between us. It was a great album too cuz it was a gamble of having a new sound and it paid off. So to me suede had 3 classic albums.

  • Yeah i liked 'Coming Up also. And Sci-Fi, their B side album, which is alot better than most bands proper albums! It just shows what a great band they were.

  • There was also so many great songs that didnt feature on the sci fi lullabies album. Have you heard this world needs a father, asda town, dolly?

  • I haven't, are they on the singles?

  • also b-sides from the early years and b-sides from head music

  • suede definitely the better of the two, but i hadnt heard of noel slagging suede off, i thought that it was known that oasis were quite influenced and drew quite alot of inspiration from suede?

  • nice songs..and nice days too..suede never die....

  • Suede, quite possibley one of the most underated British bands of the modern era.

The composition and feel to this is beautiful. Brets haunting tones are complimented pefectley by Mr Butlers instrumental work. A highly unique and gifted band. Boys when are you back?

  • i think their gonna try and make a come back... beautiful ones is a classic song..

dodgy are cool aswell and the seahorses

  • Great!!!!

  • demi moore!

  • suede never dead

  • Super muza. Z moich znajomych nikt nie słyszał o takim zespole, a w końcu go odnalazłem!!!

  • I always loved and still love this song. This is an epitome of being young and grazy in love and...everything. Great memories! :)

  • Wow. That is still so fucking powerful. Some music just lasts!

  • "She can start

    To walk out

    If she wants"

That's what Brett says in the beginning. Fantastic disguise isn't it?????????? I would never guess it mysekf. Just learnt somewhere in the net.

  • questa canzone è divinaaaa!!

  • GRAN tema!

  • great band!

  • I love the guitar hug: beautiful :D

  • Good music to listen to before committing suicide...

  • you're not going to do anything silly are you? hope you don't mind my enquiry...

um... when i was an angsty teenager this song brought me comfort when i felt lost, like i wasn't on my own... hope you don't mind me sharing but oh well i did :)

  • She can start to walk out when she wants

  • Oh good one. I've replayed it many times & keep hearing "speaker"-"star"-"towoka" so thank you!

  • towoka ??? LOL wtf

  • hehe yeah i always wanted to know aswell

  • Does anyone know what he says in the beginning before the song starts??

  • Good question mate! If I was high on drugs or life and I was recording an album, I would probably mumble some crazy shit before the actual lyrics just to keep it controversial... But that is just me. :o)

  • The whole first album has that escapist quality but has depth behind it. It could be argued that later Suede releases(Coming Up and after) were more a kind of surface image of the prior band. Looking back I realise how much of a drug album the first one was.

  • God,how I miss Suede!

  • Brett looks a little bit like Marc Almond........but with longer hairs ;-)

    beautiful song !

  • Rialto are terrible.

  • rialto is a britpop band

  • I knew it.. :-D

  • rialto is still d best

  • Hey, who is Rialto? (non pensi d'un ponte a Venezia, eh... ;-)

DarkDANTE :-) thank you so much for that issue; actually I like the Smiths as well. The best one in these days:BIG MOUTH STRIKES AGAIN

Now I need just a name of a cat..

  • Well, I had missed all!! their concerts.. What to do?? "Dear Suede members, vous pperformance?? S'il vous plait.." votre fidele--ouvez repete votre of course, especially for you, extra..

    :-(

Hey, I don't know why they called themselves "Suede" -i can not find that information anywhere....

  • Justin Frischmann made up the name a few days after Morrisey release 'Suedehead'

  • why on earth would you write to them in french?

  • I absolutely adore Suede. Brett Anderson has a fantastic voice.

  • I'm 17 and I listen to Suede over most of today's rubbish!

  • that's cause u have good music taste and ... brains

  • Thank you. Now who's thumbs downed my comment? >8^(

  • don't know... but ill give u a thumbs up ! :)

  • Sweet! Thank you.

  • dude, another seventeen year old?

    -high five-

I feel so young around here, and like I missed all the good stuff, but w/e, far superior music.

  • Well I'm 18 now, but yeah. I agree!

  • Heroin, so good, not. Fantastic band. Maybe that's what it takes to get to the top.

    No, lets not!

  • It is so good to listen a piano part of this song. Perfect as Suede were. I like the poppy start of that clip. I made a portrait of Brad. Interesting expression! .-)

  • Thanks for posting, it's so beautiful
