  • ust bougth this yesterday for my birthday, THIS STAGE KICKED MY ASS! But kept going because of the music ;-;

  • the music < 3. U so damn good at these games vix O_o

  • coolest version of frankenstein's monster ever! this game looks so freakin cool, it's like a cryback to Castlevania 1 mode of play, but done right. I wonder if there is a hard mode with more enemies and harder enemy placement....but even if there isn't, this still looks pretty cool.

  • @GrandMasterTemphis There IS a Hard Mode, with the exact features you just mentioned. >ω< The Hard Mode also removes platforms and other supporting objects.

  • I like this rendition of Frankenstein's 'creature'. Seems more closer to the original idea of it.

  • You know, he should have carried a door with him all the time, so in case of emergency, he could open it, killing all the enemies onscreen.

  • Hey this is nothing. It's too easy. Try beating it on Hard mode.

  • Aquarius theme AWESOME

loved it in castlevania 3, and CoTM ^^

  • It is quite interesting that they used Symphony of The Night's background textures from the Library in the first indoor part of the stage. (Brown marble background, etc)

Doesn't look bad though, and I don't really mind..considering all the new awesome sprites they added into this game!

  • They've used parts from Aria of Sorrrow as well...

  • tthe damn ghosts are almost as annoying as the medusa heads! fight vixy, fight for everlasting peace! yay!

  • 4:35 = Jesus...! That fool went out like a light...!

  • This music appeared also in

Castlevania Circle of the moon for GBA

    Underground Gallery,where the

    bosses were 2 zombie dragons.

    Good memories.

  • i love peeping eyes

  • This is definitely one of the longest and hardest stages I played in all of the Castlevania Series and I played almost all of them.

  • Over all I think this game is fairly easy in some parts and more challenging once you get to stage 4 and 5. Everyone out there I talk to wants a Remake of Dracula's Curse. It was interesting that this one was made first. Which seems to take place 100 years after the third game.

But I am glad that Christopher who seemed forgotten comes back and kicks butt. Also the music definitely brings back the good old days.

  • Well A remake of CV3 would be great, but to make it truly astounishing, they'd have to make it in a Castletroid/Metroidvania style.

Keep all the places from the original game and put them in as different areas connected, and ofcourse. Encounters with the cast at different places. And please oh god, a reference to Sonya somewhere...

  • Maaaan, this music is so good. It brings a tear to my eye...Nostalgia is a powerful thing.

  • It ain't Dracula's castle without the Clock Tower

  • This looks great, but of all the games to remake, why the adventure?

  • @faceheadman

They were probably disapointed in the way Adventure came out as it is usually refered to as the worst Castlevania. They probably didn't want the game to be closed as a bad game. So they kind of balanced it out with this.

  • Why is everyone bashing this game? It looks brilliant and the music is amazing. Sick remix of Aquarius.

I'm so excited for a new(ish) old school style Castlevania. Why isn't this out in America, come on Konami.

  • @blah1017

Because 90% of the people bashing this game are Twilight fans, While 10% people are Mario who Criticizing the game so difficulty and so childish.

  • @blah1017 I just bought this game a few days ago and it's amazing. I'm hooked. It's all I wanted in a new classic Castlevania game!

  • This looks much much better than the original game. But since that one (due to a poor grasp of the gameboy's technical limitations by the developers) was without doubt the worst game in the series that's not saying a lot.

It's a shame they swapped the actual Castle-looking Castle look of the pre-Symphony games to the now (after 7 Metroidvanias) generic looking SOTN style. Which makes the game look like it's been made from pre-existing material. (Not saying it is, just that it looks that way.)

  • PS- not that I'm saying the game looks bad. Hard to tell from this video really. Have doubts but I look forward to eventually playing it and finding out for myself.

  • The music (along with Contra Rebirth) has more in common with Sega Genesis versions of the games (Bloodlines and Hard Corps) than anything else.

  • @Temjin99 Yeah, I noticed that as well. Good ear.

  • The audio emulation is actually based off the old TMNT arcade board, which is what the TMNT and Gradius 3 arcade games used. The Genesis used a stripped down version of this sound hardware. This is a large part of the reason why Konami arcade ports to the Genesis still managed to sound good.

  • The sound style is sega genesis style with a bit of sunset rider style sound. I like it though, specially this one which tells me "clock tower level" yeaahh, love it! Also was wondering why i wasn't seeing any mutton joints XD

  • I hate this stage so much... i lost 2hrs of recording because of it... i got so pissed

  • Aquarius is such a good song.

  • Travel Demon!

  • Aquarius?

    HELL YES

  • Cool story, bro.

  • the music is too "techno-ish," yet it is also too "soft?" this is an odd description, considering that techno is known for its abrasiveness. as far as i can tell, the only thing that this sound has in common with techno is that the instruments (aside from the percussive ones) have no counterparts in "real" instruments.

  • Maybe he meant "not dark" than "soft". I gotta agree with mangass here. The music is techno and light.

  • Love the TMNT 4: Turtles in Time vibe to music. And I find it amusing that the game makers still used some of the sprites for some of the enemies that were used back in Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Nights.

    Also...

Who the hell was that mid-boss anyway? "Monkinstein"?

Still, I can't wait to play it for myself.

  • @JoeCoolMaveric

They all look redrawn to me.

  • Nearidley has the right idea. The music in all of the Rebirth games thus far has been arranged to sound almost exactly the same as Konami's early 90s arcade games (which Akumajou Dracula X68k sounded similar to). Listen to Gradius III AC, Turtles in Time and Sunset Riders, etc.

  • That´s right. You can show this kind of music to anybody who's into videogames and they will probably say... Oh! That kind of sound... This must be from Konami.

  • @Nearidley

Hell yeah, I know it's konami when I hear the hi-hat instrument sound very synth in certain parts mainly. Hard to explain. :P

  • is it ok if i use clips for your game play for a castlevania fmv?

  • I don't see any harm. You can do that. ^^

  • Love this games version of Aquarius but its seems out not to be in a water filled level

  • I'm confused, is this game a remake of the original?

  • It's remake in the same way Super Castlevania IV is supposed to be a remake of the first Castlevania.

  • Are you insane this game took all the best tunes from the other castlevanias it doesn't matter if it doesn't sound "organic" but cyber is just fine when the tunes are there

  • @mangaas

It's like you've never heard the NES soundtracks to any of the Castlevanias and rely simply on Super Casltevania's. It sounds fine considering it's going back to old school; it fits perfectly.

  • Opinion != Fact.

  • @RenegadeC

    That road goes both ways

  • @sudokai73

This guy obviously never grew up with NES castlevanias.

  • Go play Sunset Riders or Akumajo Dracula for the Sharp X68000 and maybe you will understand why they still use this kind of sound.

  • New Messiah, Multiple Haunted Castle Tracks and now Aquarius!?

Sniff... so there IS a God.

Good to know, too, otherwise the Belmonts would have been doing all of this for naught...

  • yep, for this and more I love this game.

  • Why do Medusa Heads always appear in the Clock Tower stages?

    Soooooooooo annoying.

  • Hey, cool! Those sickle guys are back.

  • Aquarius? Reincarted Soul? New Messiah? Wow, the soundtrack for this game is amazing.

  • Aquarius!
