  • How hard is it to get these? Are they seasonal off the shelf or what?

  • @every1zhero13 nevermind - watched whole video.

  • So is this your favorite ipa still or do you still like Avery's Maharaja better?

  • @sector69102 No this is much much better then Maha!

  • Its a close second to younger by a slim margin, very slim. Still the 2nd best ipa Ive ever had, thats opinion by the way. 3rd in line for this baby on the release date ;-)

  • @fikes73 Ive been getting reports from a few people that they liked the newest batch of Expo Hoppy better then this years Younger. Supposedly the booze is more well hidden in this then Younger

  • Better than bells hopslam? Or can't really compare?

  • @dmbsong41 Much better then Hopslam!

  • Alpine brewery is not in northern California. Despite popular belief, we do have mountains down here in San Diego. Small, but they exist. Alpine is about25 minutes east of downtown.

  • @jesseleemelton Yeah after I said that I realized i spoke incorrectly.

  • I live in northern cali, and if I cant get this at my liquor barn, someones gonna get an ass whoppin'!!!!!

  • @RJPX50 haha i hope you can get it!

  • @BeerGeekNation I bought a case! super happy, got 4 sluggers of Alesmith speedway stout and a case of Lagunitas lil' sumpin WILD. IT WAS AN EXCEPTIONAL RUN!!! OH YEAH, a bomber of CHIMAY BLUE. drinkin' that now. man is it yummy!

  • @RJPX50 haha I know your gonna trade me for another one right!

  • I really wish I could get this. it sounds right up my alley.

  • This is what we call a San Diego IPA! As far as I know, nothing that Alpine brews is distributed outside San Diego County, and apparently they intend to keep it that way. They stated that in an article in Beer West Magazine a few months back. Hands down though, best IPA's in the world are brewed by Alpine.

  • I had it 3 weeks ago great beer but not the impression you got subjective for sure, Butt holy shit never noticed it was 11% now i wished i had it sober LOL, damn good thing i have friends in Cali

  • @kbroberts1 haha yeah this bastard is 11% of pure smoothness! Its truly an epic feat of brewing

  • I'm in Florida .. How the hell can I get this? Please help !!

  • @FLefty18 You could always trade on Beer Advocate, thats probably your best bet

  • @BeerGeekNation I found a place in Cali that can help me out.

  • It sounded like you said "I'm yours Chris" LOL

Did you trade for this or is Alpine distributed in your area now?

First the Maharaja was the best IPA ever, now this?

  • @ChadzBeerReviews No i got this from Ryan. THis is a better beer then Maharaja. So im not aloud to find beers I like better then beers I thought previously were good?

  • @BeerGeekNation You're allowed to find better beers and say that aloud.

  • @BeerGeekNation I was actually going to ask if this was better than Maharaja. I think that makes this your official favorite beer, am I correct?

  • @capitalistraven Yep it is a better beer.

  • @BeerGeekNation Great review chris! Wow!! So is this the best ipa, then Maharaja then hopslam! In that order?

  • what's the hold up for Black Magick?!?! I am thinking of doing it side by side with KBS just to see how it compares and I have no doubt BM can edge it out!

  • @nhindian haha i only have 1 bottle of it. But i have yet to have a beer from Voodoo I have not liked

  • I drove 200 miles round trip on the week of release and I was only able to get 1 bottle. It was worth the drive. Definitely a very drinkable triple IPA and right up there with PTY. By the way Alpine is in So Cal not northern.

  • @steweey652 yeah its an amazing beer and worth that trip! yeah i corrected it in the video

  • I have a bottle of this practically on fedex truck for delivery tomorrow! You've definitely got the excitement going!

  • @silentbooger haha nice man!!! Let me know how you like it!

  • @BeerGeekNation It was very good. Hoppin' Frog Hop DAM is still the king of triple IPA's though IMO... very intense, but drinkability is through the roof. If you haven't had the Hop DAM, I would suggest that for a future episode! Cheers!

  • Fucking amazing beer!!!!!! Had this last weekend and couldn't get over how damn good it was. Awesome review, glad to see you do more limited release stuff!!!!!

    SkÅL!

  • @ARGeetar yeah its a fucking amazing beer for sure!

  • Awesome review man! This has been on the top of my wants for a while now. If you don't mind me asking, what did it take to land this?

  • @5iveStarGeneral Actually a fellow BGN'er got it for me!

  • Dern it all these great beers i may never get me paws on, Pliny's, This one, Westy 12, boo hoo hoo :((single tear)

  • @HighlandBerserkr I feel ya dude

  • WOW, are you serious!? I want to get this next time I'm down there!

And was I correct in reading that you think i'ts a better crafted beer and easier to drink than the Maharaja? WOW again.

I had another Triple IPA that I thought was better than Pliny the Younger, which was by Speakeasy Brewing called "the Don."

  • @BeerichiTuba Yeah this beer is absolutely off the charts amazing. Such and easy to drink beer for 11% and it just tastes amazing

  • @BeerichiTuba The Don is a barley wine

  • @SouthernOregonOrgani Not really. Look it up on RateBeer if you want to make sure. It's their Triple IPA.

  • @BeerichiTuba Then why does it say "barley wine" on the pack?

  • @BeerichiTuba I live in SF, you know San Francisco, where Speakeasy is from...I may be wrong but i am damn sure the don is a barley wine

  • @SouthernOregonOrgani Oh really? Well, "the Don" is suppose to be an unreleased, keg-only release by Speakeasy. So there shouldn't be any "pack." "Old Grandfather" is their barleywine, which is an amazing barleywine.

  • @BeerichiTuba Sorry, it was a 22 oz bomber. not a pack, Val 16 market on 16th and valencia has it.

  • @SouthernOregonOrgani Wait, Val 16 Market has "the Don" in a 22oz bomber? Or the Old Grandfather?

  • @BeerichiTuba I dont mean to come off as sum elitist prick saying i live in SF and what not. But i swear iv seen the Don in bottle form. Im pretty sure it was Val 16 market. it was a hazy day and im going off what my friend who was with me said. But i distinctly remember it being The Don. Tho if it was old grandfather im going to look like a real ass. ill check tomorrow if i get around that area

  • @SouthernOregonOrgani No man, you're not coming off as a prick at all. This is a mystery that us beer geeks must solve! haha

In the meantime just google "Speakeasy The Don" and you'll see that it's a IIIPA. I'm gonna check Val 16 Market today and see if they have either beers. If either or neither, I'll probably buy a beer there anyways, lol.

  • This review was Super Super Super Super haha cheers man.

  • @allthatalesyou THanks man haha cheers

  • how does this chalk up to Maharaja?

  • @zodiak3000 I think its actually a better crafted beer. Much easier to drink and even more hoppy the Maha!

  • Northern California? Blooper!

You can pretty much only get this one in San Diego and parts of Orange County. Worth the drive to get some bottles and a growler fill.

  • @StumpyJoeJr Yeah I realized that after I posted it! I was confusing it for when you went to the mountains

  • wow, better than Pliny the Younger? I'll have to try this soon. Thanks for the review.

  • Had this fresh from a growler. I may be the only one to say this but i was not impressed at all. Yea at 11% there was no Alcohol detected . But to me was way too sweet and fruity . Reminded me somewhat of Maharaja which i also did not enjoy. (i know blasphemy ). To me Younger was a lot better. I don't think Northern Cali can even get this. It is only available to southern California i believe . Either way nice review cheers.

  • @truthisrare777 For me this was just a lot smoother less boozy version of Younger. Hop profile wise I though it was about that same. Cheers!

  • @BeerGeekNation really? Younger to me was a huge pliny the elder . Pretty much any flaws elder has were perfected when brewing younger. Younger to me i could not detect any alch . Either way cool you got to try it.

  • I've been trying to get my hands on this beer but it's so damn elusive!

  • @mikul93 Yeah it is truly an amazing beer that if you can get its a must try!
