I do agree that the voting machines leave room for manipulation. As long as they are being used, we will never be able to vote someone out of office that is for the NWO agenda and not for the people!

Even the Israeli government, and people, refuse to use electronic voting machines in their elections, and insist on paper ballots. So what if it takes a week to count them? Big deal! I want an HONEST ELECTION, with REAL patriots in office.

Wow a Diebolt machines got hacked again, how am I not surprised! Didn't they count Bushes votes both times? And didnt someone made a movie about how they are so easy to hack by there own software that comes with it? Optical scanning is simple, efficient, accurate and verifiable. A card is read by a machine. The card is retained as a back up copy.

It works. How do I know? During a recount of an election, all the cards were hand counted and fed back through the machine. After the recount the hand counts and the machine counts matched the totals from the election. A perfect score.

The moral of this story is that we need a paper trail. All digital voting invites fraud because it can be hacked.

I would argue that a paper ballot, dropped in a box, counted by volunteer returning officers is Simpler, Efficient, Accurate, Verifiable, Cheaper and Better for the democratic process in that it requires community involvement. Local volunteers counting the votes for their district. People from across the political spectrum gathering on election night to monitor the process. Hard to slip in a stack of bogus votes when every move is being scrutinized by your neighbors. PEOPLE not Deibold.

Why keep the ballot as back up? NO! Count is right on the spot in front of everyone before ballots disappear where they can be switched. Machine free, computer free elections - only way to go - this is why Evil Ruling Elites will NOT allow it. They DEMAND ballots disappear from public site BEFORE they are counted. And unless you are in New Hampshire, I'm wondering about your story. In Ohio & 48 states (NH excepted) the citizen will be arrested before they let him see the ballots on election day.

Since the 2000 US election corporate electronic vote fraud has escalated exponentially . Centralizing it this way will only make the job of the oligarchs that much easier. It doesn't matter what party wins since both the major parties are thoroughly controlled by oligarchs. The party differences are merely superficial. Large scale electronic vote fraud by oligarchs will be the greatest obstacle for change in all the future if nothing is done to stop it.

I don't mind voting machines, but for me to feel comfortable using them, there must be a paper ballot trail that brings the official vote. Machines can bring a fast count, but hand counted paper should be the official count.

Diebold machines have been shown to be hacked, and are just untrustworthy.

I think hand ballots can work well WHEN there is community involvement. I feel comfortable and confident slipping a paper ballot into the cardboard box, when the returning officers are my neighbors. If the polling places were manned by the military, police or any single power entity such as union, or a political party as has and does happen in places, then clearly any vote would be suspect.

Having private companies owning election equipment is fine. It is only fine if there is transparency with their software. And actual consumer decisions to use it or not. If it's up to the government buying it from the companies there's no real freedom there is there?

Two Novembers ago I submitted my vote. We all were forced to use the electronic voting machine, the Couny Clerk refued to give me a paper ballot. I figured it was rigged. Most people I talked to voted the incumbants out.

Voting on paper slips is transparent and increases community involvement in the election process.

Dump those expensive, blackbox, unreliable machines and get back to voting basics.

Manipulated by media etc., yes. Rigged, it seems probable that some are but I doubt that *all* elections in the west are rigged as in false votes are cast for a given candidate.

Paper ballots requiring more people to be involved in the reading and counting, increase the scrutiny by the citizenry of the electoral process. Everyone with a horse in the race will want to be there to ensure a fair count. More eyes scrutinizing = reduced chance for fraud. Not perfect but better than LieBold

It is a legitimate worry for even the most capitalistic person. The electronic machines that are being made have no paper trail to be recounted to check the votes, and can be easily made intentionally flawed by the company's executives.
