  • You are amazing! U talk alot but ur worth listening to! and ur voice accent is school too! :D

  • Awesome as always. To achieve this effect more readily from the camera, you can use your aperture settings. Most cameras have an "aperture priority" setting (Av or A) where you can set the aperture to the smallest number possible. This will blur. Also use the longest zoom possible, even if it's only 3x it'll make a difference. Just wanted to mention that after your comment at the end there...

  • very useful + cool accent

  • Very useful. I've been looking for good GIMP tutorials and this one was great. Thanks a lot.

  • very nice tutorial, it's a plus that you have a great voice as well! hope you make more basic tuts - pullleasse! especially on how to draw, add a gradient, and use some of the more complex filters. thank you. p.s. how can I give you a rating?

    thanks much!

  • Superb as usual. Thanks.

when drawing, how do i blend lines togher so picture looks smooth. say for things like shadows going progressively from light to dark??

  • love ur tutorial.....very simple and specific...hope u could post more tutorial....thank you=)

  • Brilliant! Wish I had learned how to use the quick mask months ago!

  • Thanks for making that so easy. I wanted to know how that effect was achieved and you made it very easy.

    Great tutorial

  • To make the background 'blurry' is to simple set you f number to a number like f2.8.

  • Thanks for another great tutorial - i actually have a good camera and a special lens, but with little people, it's nice to be able to crop out everything else and blur the background and focus on the one child who isn't crossing their eyes! Thanks so much for taking the time to do these tutorials! i'm learning so much!

  • The selection trick is brilliant.

  • Thanks. Great tutorial.

  • thanx :)

  • Thanks for another helpful tutorial. It's a bonus, but I appreciate the way you show how to do it, and show the shortcut keys you use. It shortens my learning curve by just that much more.

  • a simple but effective tutorial, i wish all tutorials were like this, awesome job man. keep them coming.

  • LOL " As handsome as I am, I don't really stand out from the background there" haha. Great tutorials by the way. I can't find an person who can make such good tutorials with such simple steps.

  • awesome. So far the best person who can explain how to use gimp. I'm subscribing.

  • You are so right most of the the people who explain gimp are asian. There is nothing wrong with that it is just wierd

  • Actually, Fotolinq is the best person to explain the gimp, followed very closely by Enselic (who has the advantage of being a developer)

  • Wonderful :D

  • Very very good explanation. My question is : what the difference between to apply Gaussian Blur or Selective gaussian blur using the quick mask ? Thanks again

  • What you see as unimportant or too simple might be interesting or important to someone else.

I will not change a thing.

If you can't 'do marching ants' I suggest you read the comments section to that video. If you follow the tutorial properly and you are using the most up to date version it will work.

  • this video was a lifesaver! thank you so much!

  • i wish i could grow a beard. too bad i can't because people will accuse me of being a terrorist lol

  • My, that's terrible D:

  • very good

  • thank u. it's very helpful.
