Best Friends Animal Sanctuary

Apparently MrJaffa has never been to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. I spent all day with the puppies and you will go through BAGS of treats socializing and working with them. Blankets galore all over the place!!!! Call the dogs chubby, fluffy whatever! Just say it like you love it!!! Horse restrictions on food are usually due to allergies. MrJaffa, go to Best Friends before you write an evaluation. We go there multiple times a year and know many who work there.

If you work at a place like this, things tend to get a little crazy. If you give a dog ONE extra piece of kibble, you get in trouble; If a dog get a different color blanket, you get in trouble; If you call a dog chubby, you get yelled at because they say the dog will have low self-esteem; If you feed a horse an apple, they will panick, fearing a tree will grow inside the animal's stomach. It borders on a cult. I used to work at a no-kill shelter in Batavia,Ohio, and the staff was nuts.

Just love this place, was able to go only once and i cried when i got there. I really hope to go back one day,i would even like to live near there,work there,its a dream place for animals and i am so happy a place like this exits!! I miss Dogtown USA on Nat Geo!

Do the full tour, i did the short one and it sucked cause I didn't get to go and see the aminals outside of the stupid van the full tour lets you get out and play with the dogs and cats.

Best Friends is wonderful! I am a sophomore in high school, and a youth leader for Safe Humane Chicago. Best Friends sponsors us to go to elementary schools in underprivileged neighborhoods across Chicago and talk to kids about kindness to animals, compassion, proper care of animals, and the horrors of dog-fighting an animal cruelty! Ive met 3rd graders with the most horrible tales of animal cruelty which theyve WITNESSED!

I visited Best Friends Animal Sanctuary last May 2008 and it was such a positive experience. They do a great job with the animals (truly). All animal shelters should be more like this. I highly recommend it as a visit place if you are ever in their area (which is gorgeous on it's own). They are located in Kanab, Utah near Bryce Canyon and Zion National park.

My dog got her shots there ^_^ and we got a discount cuz my two of my aunts and uncles live there.

My cousin used to but not anymore

Best Friends is awesome! Had the chance to stay a few days during the winter one year, and that night it snowed! They said it hardly ever snows there. Great work and kudos to BF!
