it means they have the mic turned up so much that it is actually overdriving the circuits in the board, which will probably compress it, but ultimately make a clipping sound if pushed enough. Basically, they had it cranked
@jrwstudios Sometimes in the sound check bands play with less intensity than during the actual performance. Higher levels are usually OK because we have equipment in the back room that readjusts the levels before the sound goes out on the air. The audio for this feed is taken from the on-air signal, and I dont think any distortion or clipping is noticeable. Needles are still moving at least :)

@mechablastoise "Volume Units" meter is flashing red, which means the audio levels appear to be above optimal levels.
