i love my zx, it has an electronic dash, four speaker sterio, 5-speed with cruize controll, t-tops, leather, power windows, shoot, the only option thats missing is the computer system check, and turbo.

I have a 79 280zx and it looks exactly like the one in the ad, except mine has louvers on the back window. in my opinion the old Z's were the best. the new ones are fast but don't look as good.

Lol, My favorite part is that driver checkup display it showed. It is nothing more than layers of thin plastic with side lighting ^.^ And gutless too, the engine info display gives a whopping 135 hp 2.8L! 79 was the best year for the 280zx though, lotsa stainless, cannot wait to finish my resto.

My neighbor has a turbo zcar identical to this one, black exterior, tan interior, stick, analog gauge, rusting on its belly in the yard (I'm guessing this is an 81). Engine is totally intact and unmolested, but inside is ragged out. He'll give it to me free; I'm wondering if I should go put some tires on it and me and my dad bring it home so I can see if I can get it to crank.  I bet it got put out to pasture just because the injectors got clogged and it started to run like shit.

Where's my velure. I'm not seeing the aircraft lighting. Pre flight check out system is nothing but a dummy light with totally useless sensors. And you have to use hands to hold the button up to raise the window. Cruise control and stereo hasn't worked in 20 years. Cockpit isn't very luxurious, its actually kind of cramped. A side impact would probably crush you like beans in a can. At any rate, luxury crap only dies over time becoming dead weight and has no business being on a sportscar

The 280zx can keep up with anything if you want. We are doing a built turbo on my friends right now. These cars are so light then with like 12-14lbs of boost ur going to smoke anything. We use ours for drifting though. Weld the dif, coil overs, camber plates, turbos, momo seats and wheels and ur set =)

I think mine was about 14 to 18 grand, depending on options. It's an '83 non-turbo with the GL package; T-tops, louvers, etc.

Did the cigarette lighter have a light bulb inside of it? I remember seeing my dad lighting a cigarette with the car's cigarette lighter. And when he put it back, there was a light inside of the socket.

I own a 280ZX. It's the "bloated" 2+2 model too. I also own a 1st gen 240Z. And so I have to ask- when people say "Nissan lost their way"- have any of you ever driven the damn thing? You act like the 280ZX is the biggest most bloated land barge to ever roam the roads. But believe me, they're damn sporty, and the ZX will keep up with the 240; If you didn't get the GL model, its curb weight was LOWER than the 240's.

I have to say I like the 240s better much more basic I also liked all the 300zx models the car Nissan lost it with was the 350z but they more than made up for it with the 370z
