  • Use the Internet for live or recorded consultations, trainings, and demonstrations. It will be very busy. Converting just one fifth still on the road of all major brands and models of vehicles needs a lot of people and some kind of standards. Parts companies will love to build stuffs to lower the costs for many of the proceedings. Thanks for showing us someone have ambitions driving this. This is encouraging.

  • lol hes irish (i think) and hes going green

  • Electric cars a super!

  • Talk to us AFTER u have done the conversion

  • It's already electric - the conversion he talks about is to make it into a 5-seater with rear windows instead of the 2-seater van it currently is.

  • good for u

  • I absolutely admire you for making this video and taking such strong green initiatives (Unlike some of our Canadian politicians that think highly of themselves just for fueling with Ethanol). I'd love to vote for you being pro-EV and anti-Hydrogen. But I live in Canada :(

  • I saw one of those EVs in Montréal a few weeks ago. First time I've seen one in action my whole life! Are they built by TM-4 in Québec?

  • much respect from Canada Mr. Gargan

  • Hey Q I get alot of hits on my hydrogen fuel cell video from Ballard. But, I really like your idea of a wind mill to charge your car, that's awsome!! I have often thought that all electric cars should have a pop up windmill and a solar cell on the roof. (charge while you park) Hey why not ya know.. even if it's just equal to 1/4 liter of gas a day...I'll take it!!

    Keep it up.

  • Is there any problems bringing a car over from Southern Ireland to London I have seen one of these for sale over there but very rare to find in London really especialy as they except from congestion charging we have and they provide free parking in westminster and free charging points but they dont make this van no more

Im just alos wondering if Citreon still provide parts or support for the vehicle .There was also a good vehicle made the electric renault kangoo which done

  • I don't about duty importing a car into the UK. There is a small registration charge on vans from the UK to Ireland (€50) but a lot more if it is a car, though the rate is reduced for hybrid and electric cars.

EVs in Ireland originated in the UK where you will find them for sale. Parts are available at present.

A Citroen dealer in London sells these. You can call Joe Burge. His phone no is 0044 870 744 3006.

    Good luck! Quentin.

  • Why didnt Quentin pop the bonnet and show us his electric engine?. Why did Quentin fail to show us the battery bank?. Answer: the van Qwentin is driving is a Citreon Berlingo 1.9d , there is no way an electric motor powered with an ac battery bank could push a Citreon Berlingo down the road so effortlessly!. LIAR. Show us the electric motor and battery bank!

  • Wow! You really are a cynic. There are a couple of thousand of these electric Berlingos kicking about, but nothing about them on Citroen website. Google "who killed the electric car" for a great movie on this subject. The engine is hidden under panels. Can email shots if interested.

  • To the cynic, all it takes is a simple google search. Type in 'citroen berlingo electrique' and prepare to eat your words. No doubt you drive an SUV. Good on you Quentin!

    Cheers

    Chris

  • Sorry about being slow to approve comments lately. Had to reformat computer here. Just catching up....

    Thanks, Quentin

  • hydrogen is not only a joke compared to electric, hydrogen is a mask that they put on when people start bitching about green cars. electric cars are really the only solution at this point. they're four times more efficient than hydrogen cars. go green, buy a tesla if you can afford it. if not, ride your bike until electric cars go into mass production.

  • shameless plug? it should be shameless!!! what shame is there in protecting the environment and reducing the dependance on fossil fuels? I would vote for this guy too! -therenewableenergyrevolution

  • Fuel cells really are a joke. When was the last time you saw a hydrogen fueling station. The best reason for switching to electric cars to me isn't the environment, it is freeing ourselves from the oil and gas industry. That's why it is important to not only switch to electric vehicles but also home solar and home based wind generators.

  • Hey Greyflcn - Yes, hydrogen is a joke. My understanding is that converting electricity to hydrogen and back again has a round-trip efficiency of about 30%. In Ireland we need a lot more public transport, but electric cars are probably the best way of getting from home to the public transport hubs.

  • Hydrogen is a joke compared to Electric. greyfalcon. net/ hydrogen.png Rather, the idea is to charge up virtually anywhere you can plug into a wall socket (And use NO water) greyfalcon. net/ plugins Newer batteries can charge up in under 10 minutes. And commercial electric cars out next year will offer some amazing performance specs. greyfalcon. net/ electriccars.png _ On a sidenote, BioFuels are also just a big distraction. greyfalcon. net/ brazil.png greyfalcon. net/ ethanol
  • It started off well, but turned out to be a shamless plug. None-the-less, you'd still get my vote.

  • Go Green!!
