For the right wingers here, we're talking about affordable access to birth control and health care. Do you really believe people only have sex when they want to procreate? Even when they are married? Wake up to reality and stop being so small minded.

I cant believe that this civilization is still is being told how sex will end up in reproduction of a life-- really If your not ready for the responsability- Stop and think- you will probably end up getting pregnant and then accountability is removed from the person who did the act with consent--- who pays for this act? another human being- it doesnt take a Genious to understand where the problem starts--

Perhaps the women she is referring to should take responsibility and make the CHOICE to NOT have sex until they are able to support a child. It is purely selfish to have sex and not be open to the possibility of forming a new life.

@billiv6 In a perfect world, but the fact is people have sex. Telling humans not to do something has never stopped them from doing it. That's why instead of saying "just don't have sex", we need to accept the reality of the situation and teach safe sex in order to help prevent the "need" for abortions. If birth control is made more affordable, easier to obtain, AND everyone is taught their importance and proper use, abortion rates will drop.

Just a point of clarification for you- Gwen Moore is not a Representative from New York. She is a Representative from the 4th District of Wisconsin. She was speaking in support of the Lowey amendment. Rep. Lowey is the Democrat from New York.
