I am 6 months pregnant now and its our first child so I'm a little scared about the whole thing. I have been watching several videos and still had mixed emotions about giving birth and if I could do it. Then I watched this video and it moved me to tears. Thank you for showing me what it's all about. @nickt916 Keep watching as many videos as you can. Talk about your fears with your wife. Have a plan of what you can do to help. (Massage, get ice, etc.) Familiarize yourself with her birth plan. If you not so good with blood talk about what you may like to see or not, (will you look at the head coming out etc.) If it helps, focus solely on her needs to the point where u don't have time to be freaked out and take lots of deep breaths. GOOD LUCK!!!!!

@Zantek007 First, waterbirths can be done at hospital, not just at home. they are perfectly safe as long as someone trained to deliver is present

2nd in the UK home births are supported by the NHS. The midwives who come out to assist home deliveries are just as qualified and have exactly the same equipment as the midwives who work in hospital labour suites.

I'm due 2nd baby later this year, am considering homebirth, and my midwife is encouraging me to do it as I delivered first so easily

She will stop when she's done, use your pinky in the corner of her mouth to break suction and switch up breasts in the middle of each feeding. Until you get a good idea of how long it takes her to get full, try pumping the breast that gets the least attention. It will help with those times when you're tired and dad or family can help. Hope this helped.

to say all homebirths are dangerous is absolutely crazy! Please tell me what is more natural than being calm, in control and in your own home.

I was forced into a hospital birth with my son and it was awful. I have never been more scared, out of control and far from the comfort of my own home!

If you live 200 miles from the nearest hospital, then that is a little unnerving!But Its the mothers right and choice to birth where she wants. Anyway, If thats how you feel why are you watching these?
