oh my! move over Michael Bay there is a new sheriff of lame in town and his name is Chris Columbus (the director of perks of being a wallflower). I predict this movie will tank badly...or much like all of his movies be a complete and total mediocre mess that gets pulled through by an attractive cast of teenagers. (and yes i am aware he was the director of the first harry potter movies...but notice how quickly that changed after it became a phenomenon)

@nikenikey7 Yep. They are gonna share a kiss there and something more near the end. Sam is actually Charlie's real love interest. I don't think Stephen will think of not putting that scene in the movie. It's one of the most significant events in the whole book.

@nikenikey7 Yeah, Charlie has another partner but Sam is really the one he loves. Getting involved with some vices, sexual and sexuality issues is more or less the main things that Charlie will be going through. Molestation and rape and some others are pretty much going to be tackled there as well. I want to give you more information, really. But I don't wanna spoil you. :)) But all in all, I'm gonna say that the book is great and eye-opening. The movie is something worth looking forward too. :D

Logan said that this project (perks) has been in the works for about a year, and they are to start shooting soon, he has heard nothing about sea of monsters except what reporters have told him and reportedly there is no script, no director, no producers, no anything. so it is doubtful that sea of monsters will be filmed anytime soon.

This was reported by the LA Times in Mar and is in the latest update on the film from Production Weekly which is a direct source and members only publication (e.g. the info is exclusive and only comes diectly from the production company)so it's still in pre-prod
