We found fine sand at the craft store, like I mentioned. Not sure of its name, but anything that is called "craft sand" or "fine sand." What is important is that the sand does not turn into mud when it gets wet, which most craft sands will not.
We got the sand at the craft store. It is a very fine sand that you can sprinkle on glue in various craft projects. The sand does stick to the plaster a little, but if you use a fine sand it is a really cool effect and it does not take away from the effect.
@bgirlgissele On mine the sand is stuck to the plaster, but I chose a slightly sparkling white sand, so it looks good. I got the sand at a craft store. It is the kind used to with glue to make designs and patterns on paper...
