my studio xps 16 will be in tomorrow. I have been tracking it day by day and i cant wait. Even took a half day tomorrow at work. Yes im a nerd.

the 5670 isnt coming to the studio xps for awhile. probably in many months. I am happy with my Studio xps 16 with the 4670, 4 gigs of RAM DDR3 and my Core i5 2.53 ghz

@JonnytheAwesomeGuy Considering that Dell Studio 17 already has Radeon Hd 5650 as an option ( slightly better than 4670 but with DX 11 support) I doubt that Studio XPS 16 won't jump to 5730 (higher clocked 5650 ) or 5750 (supports GDDR5) I think it's going to be 5730 , since 5750 costs more but time will tell.

whatever im happy with the 4670. Its a good laptop GPU and not many games will utilize dx11. there are still gonna be more DX9 games.

Ultra High is a mod for crysis that has better graphics than very high and improves fps, and the Triple C mod adds better fps and improves graphics, both put together adds better graphics and improves fps alot, also if you are still getting bad performance try lowering your resolution

Depends on what game you are looking to play on it, bot for crysis it might not be that good, just try the two different mods i have in the description and see if you get good perfromence, otherwise you will need to play crysis at low or medium settings

Great Choice, Except for the card, I would recommend a 1 GB card, games don't run as good on a 512 mb, crysis dosent run good on a 512 mb laptop card, so i recommended a 1 GB card then it would be great for gaming :)

YOU have a very power rig there. I wouldn't consider HD 4650 as bad with 512 MB DDR3 b/c it's DDR3.

Games Run Bettter With Higher Video Card Memory, with a 512 mb laptop card, alot of games run really bad, cause my previous laptop had a 512 mb card and crysis ran terrible, so if you are planning to handle any good games i would suggest getting a 1 GB card

It is Possible to run crysis at 1920x1080 on my laptop, but it just gets laggier than it normally does, on some computers playing on a higher resolution really rapes framerate, and with some there are barley any performence decreases. with my laptop there isnt much framerate drops if i higher the resolution.

the 15.4" m15x, new model is i7 and 260m GTX. saw one at the dell kiosk near my apartment, didnt have a good squiz at the windows experience index but it was a massive size laptop for 15.4, the xps 16 looked much thinner and only lacked the performance of GPU, not sure how much better 260m GTX is over the xps16 ati card. also if looking at the m15x, look at the sager laptops, i think similar price but you get 280m GTX. and agree, most machines struggle,the crysis mod must be a gem!!

This is the Ultra High mod and the tripple c mod together, the Tripple c mod adds better quality and improves fps, and my resolution is at 1024x768 so that fraps dosent rape the framerate to much, it runs fine at 1920x1080.

ive been thinking about an xps 16 with this graphics card and an I7 cpu that i can get reasonably priced. have you tried running crysis at 1280x720 or 1920x1080 with everything set to say high and see what FPS you get? do you think you could do a video like that man, would be really appreciate and then if i get my xps 16 il do some videos with identical settings to show how an I7 performs to help other potential buyers.

Since your laptop is widescreen, try a resolution like 1280x720 so at least the aspect ratio isnt nerfed down. Might be a bit more "laggy" than 1024x768, but its pretty close though.
