  • worst. movie. ever.

  • what producers fail to see is that just because something has lots of booms and flashy CGI doesn't make it exciting. Take this. Looks like something off Xbox, but take a scene from say the channel chase in Terminator 2 or Death Proof or something and it has 'weight' because they used real cars and real effects. Its sad that we are getting away from this.

  • At 0:40 I was waiting to hear the Dixie horn lol

  • 0:51 Nobody knows which way to look

  • 2:02 what is a song ?

  • 1:33 it reminds me to Final Destination 4 LOL

  • This boring......because it is so fake it looks like something a kid did on a SIMS game and then posted it........hard to believe hollywood thinks this is what happens................uh wait a minute.......not hard to believe hollywood doesn't get things right...........

  • These crashes reminds Dan Wheldon accident in Vegas... these pics are so similar... :-(

  • Most unrealistic depiction of motor racing ever. Looks more like a freaking video game. This only sped up CART's demise.

  • why were these hollywood stunt men practicing their gigs during an indy car race?

  • Alright Who Gave Max Papis Red Bull At 0:32 LOL

  • 1:49 LOL It just takes off by itself!

  • this first to 0:03 is real, that during 2000 toronto cart race!

    /watch?v=GjvTeE0bwiY at 0:32

  • Max Papis: Veteran of F1, CART, NASCAR, and Southwest Airlines.

  • Is it realistic? No. Is it hella fucking awesome as fuck? Tchyeah it is.

  • 0:51 people looking in different directions HAHAHAHAHA fail.

  • But its spectacular :D

  • unrealisitc

  • SHIT.

  • Obviously this is set on another planet sharing none of Earth’s laws of physics.

  • oh wow i had (fortunately) forgotten what a piece of crap this movie was!

  • lmfao!!!! what a load of BS

  • This movie...is what killed CART.

    Not bankruptcy. This movie.

  • only thing remotely redeeming about these clips is Paul Page being featured in them. ESPN needs to bring him back

  • WTF!

  • lol they tried to beat FnF

  • they set gravity to 0 for this

  • How to make a bad film;

    1. Create obvious digital over-the-top unrealistic blatantly fatal crashes that happen for no reason.

    2. Neglect to actually come up with a storyline.

    3. Forget that there is actually any point to the plot or script at all.

    4. Use an actor that nobody can understand what he's saying in a lead role.

    5. Call it Driven.

  • 0:47 So Fucking Ridiculous!

  • @TheCottonTop Those cars would have to be going 2,000mph, for it to look like that!

  • I don't know what was worse about Driven, the unrealistic storyline, or the totally ridiculous crashes.

I mean, I like big crashes as long as no one gets hurt, but this is so over the top, its not even funny! Seriously, why would Papis crash head on into Gidely? Any driver with common sense would have tried to evade him.

But yea, the crash starting at 1:47 was the worst by the far. What were they thinking? No Open Wheel car crashes that way! I bet Paul Page regrets being in this movie now.

  • They got the german track wrong. The Germany course is the most dangerous course in the whole movie, but in real life you would NEVER see any track like this in Germany. You wouldn't even get the chance to build a course like this here.

Anyway, good movie, but mainly because of the C.A.R.T. race cars.

  • @ADadasadasdadw that track could be the AVUS (or be a seemed track) ? That bankings are like in AVUS track

  • @Capi11 the track used in the movie isn't a real one, at least I wouldn't know which german track that should be.

I guess it could be a old, little, airport field where they builded something like a track for the movie.

  • and not one red flag was shown loool

  • hehe i would love to see this in 3D

  • 26 Cars overtake him whilst his in midair.

    *facepalm*

  • this is lyk a wanabe final destination movie

  • Driven, imma let you finish, but The Room is one of the worst movies of all time. of all time!

  • This looks epic in a bad, funny way. xD Just...no.

  • Wow seriously?

    The physics are completely wrong.

Auto racing is totally depicted wrongly here.

  • MAy it's because of this shit Champ Car lost a LOT of money!

  • oh my GODDDDDD! this is horrible!

  • ....TIRE IN THE FACE! I think Dane Cook wrote for this steaming shitpile of a movie

  • @crazybluemongoose Nah just Sylvester Stallone

  • Om my god, look at the CGI tire flying lol

  • Looks like crashes you'd find on an Xbox game. All are entirely possible, but have a realistic chance of 0.00000001%.

  • Looks like crashes you'd find on an Xbox game. All are entirely possible, but have a realistic chance of 0.00000001%.

  • First crash.Street course with black tire barrier protecting concreteCar slides with a slow speed spin. The car teleports to a high speed spin on a permanent road course with a red and white tyre barrier protecting a gravel trap, then the safety truck comes out of the street course.Sheesh.

  • the only things i like about this movie is 1) the hot guys 2) the music which is feckin' chill and 3) the racing sequences although the crashes are deathly exagerated. The crashes and all are shite!

  • Are those made of fucking plastic?

  • what i didnt like about this movie is that pretty much in every crash the car had to flip or burst into flames

  • crashes are very exxagerated

  • This film is an insult to motorsport.

  • 0.30-0.33 Is so Fucking Ugly. Terrible effects.

  • 0:53 - OMG, Woman at the front looking the wrong way to everyone! Haha.

And yes, the slower in the air thing is possible in Nascar. But,. count it.

While in mid-air. 26 cars go past him. 26. Words fail me.

  • no this movie is good. only the race car crashes are unrealistic!

  • @ 0:38 I didnt know Champ Cars were built around a roll cage like NASCAR

    haha

  • @jaw5083 they're not

  • think craig an f1 car it is desighed to run forward with this airdynamic. if it goes backwards it will take of. its simple. and for the third crash an f1 car can fly and explode by this way. but its clear luck

  • fucking hell they are big

  • that may have been the worst thing I've ever seen....ever!

  • at 2:00 is that montreal?

  • #LOL 1:15 = physics FAIL

  • I bet Max Papis was thinking that VTEC just kicked in, yo.

  • Holy shit. I haven't seen this film since it came out in 2001. I forgot how terrible it was D:

  • i can´t stop laughing....llllllllooooooollllllllll....

  • LOL i love how at 2:00 Michael Andretti comes in and flys into the river LOL

  • @legonascar88fan That's supposed to be Roberto Moreno :P

  • max papis got owned xD

  • You could be forgiven for thinking you were watching an online race on NR2003!

  • 1:49

    WORST OF THEM HAHA

  • Does someone know what track is the German GP in the film?

  • @leo1fun its not a real track. just some made up circuit, probably where tire testing takes place. privately owned I bet.

  • @PatrickBarrett03 Yeah, I supposed it was a fake track. I thought of Nurburgring, because the film has a scene thar Bly is scrolling the Notebook through the season's circuits, and there was a Nurburgring map there. But seeing the circuit, it definitely isn't Nurburgring.

  • C'mon, it's not bad, but the crashes are so surreal haha

  • Because when your Airbourne, you can speed and slow down time :D

  • this is the worst fucking movie ever!!!!

  • If a driver would really crash like that he would be dead 3 times already.

  • Driven is the worst movie ever created in history.............

  • @grimes1992 College Road Trip is worst, since it's a tweeny bopper film from Disney.

  • @BigEOT3 Worst racing movie ever. ;D

  • This is so stupid and awesome.

  • What are the songs playing at 35 and 50?

  • Third crash...a car would not fly and explode like that. I doubt the idiots who made this movie ever saw a race car crash.

In the fourth crash...omfg did that car just take off going backwards? This looks like one seriously shitty movie!

  • Nascars can take off like that at tracks like Talladega and Daytona. Never happens in cart. Look for "NASCAR Blowover" and you'll see whats happens.

  • @GarrysModPr0ductions I stand corrected! :)

  • Third crash they make it blantantly obvious thats CG

Fourth crash it looked liked the car did a effin blowover at 30 mph and like one car ended up in the river.

  • @craigsimons1993

    well this is hollywood...

imagine if they would have done this with F1 cars because that was the original plan:P

  • @craigsimons1993 -- Yes, that car did take off going backwards. While it is possible for that to happen, a car would need to be going twice as fast as the car in that crash...probably around 170...to take off.

    Example: watch?v=0gmdqfjiD_s

  • @craigsimons1993 its a fucking movie lol... its supposed to be ENTERTAINING

  • @craigsimons1993 The realism isnt the best. However the movie is very good

  • @craigsimons1993 It was. I was a huge CART fan at the time and before I saw the film I knew that there were going to be some creative licensing and that certain parts were going to be unrealistic. But I was really appalled at the crash scenes. There's taking it over the edge and then there's just plain silliness.

  • @craigsimons1993 it's just a movie, ofcourse it looks fake :D

  • @craigsimons1993 you're forgetting that when they were designing the crashes, they were working with 3 and 4 year olds who were playing with hotwheels... they must not have had very good light to see what the kids were doing......

  • @craigsimons1993 The thrid crash was horrible, but the 4th one is possible. The car gets air under it lifting it off the ground. True fact.

  • the first crash would never happen. A car would not explode and flip like that at that speed. Secondly, in the overhead shot theres an armo barrier, then switch back to the trackside view and its gone! WTF!

In the second crash, he seems to use the other car as a ramp and goes flying into the air. Not only would that never happen since the front of the car isn't wide enough to act as a ramp, but the car he hit wouldn't stay dead still either.

  • Filmed at a different location for the first one

Second one it may or may not be possible, but we can all agree that it wouldnt go that fucking high

  • @Altamonteric well said. After all, he is driving a race car not flying a plane!

  • Biggest pile of shite I ever saw!

  • @lendrew1 not a miracle. finnish director, lol

  • 1:49 i laughed so hard. Honestly, did the makers ever watch a cart race. Did they ever saw a real cart crash ?

  • Crashes like that are called blowovers, which are quite common in NASCAR, but they don't go 1000 feet into the air, xD

  • this one looks really ridiculous :D but even funnier is that every third car decides to jump over the wall into the water.

  • Go fast turn left... SHIT, ITS NOT WORKING XD

  • @GarrysModPr0ductions RAOFLMAO!

  • this is a very good movie

  • disapointing movie they could and should have done it better

  • Such a bad movie...

  • this movie is about CART series right? and they used ethanol (or methanol, whatever) as their fuel, which burns with invisible flames. keeping that in mind, how the car caught visible fire in 1.18 :P

  • You'd think the directing body of the sport would rework the safety considerations after the first SEVERAL crashes involving cars completely off the track, possible fan fatalities, and the like, but it is a movie....

It is unfortunate the best crash of the movie isn't here!! This needs the crash where Jimmy Bly plants the car right into the wall almost Senna-style...

  • which is the name of the last track in this video

  • I think it's Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal.

  • I saw this film today, a spanish TV channel broadcasted it, and I enjoyed it very much althought I like categories like Formula 1 and other european specialities, nice crashes, some of them very faked but anyway so spectaculars

  • Looks like real

  • What a crap...

  • lol

  • Whaaam!

  • The crashes in this film are awesome! Maybe pretty fake looking with most of them, but still really epic, especially the last one with cars flying everywhere, and even into the water! hahaha!!

  • these crashes reminds me of nelsinho piquet!!

  • Oh god. This can't be serious...

  • i bet who ever directed that piece of shit never saw any kind of auto racing in his whole life

  • 0:40 - Has Max Papis broken an altitude record for race cars?

1:19 - Give me a break. CART cars couldn't blow up like that. Neither can IRL cars.

1:49 - Amazing! Alex Barron has defied the laws of physics! Twice!

1:59 - And someone just jumps in the St. Lawrence. Looks so much like someone just jumping into a pool.

If they marketed this movie to be a parody of motor racing, it might have done better - and would have been a better parody than "Talladega Nights" was.

  • the last crashes in sooooosooooososoooo 3d...fucked up

  • Yeah, I never recalled an IndyCar getting airborne and some 22 cars passing under them at full speed. They would have slow down seeing the car going airborne and in their path.

  • yeah cuz those cars fly but there spolers keep em grounded ..fuckit fun movie

  • They fucked up so many 3D cars!!!

  • michael bay meets final destination

  • I love the first crash.

#1 - Team Penske car gets sideways

#2 - That car is gone, but the Visteon car is now spinning.

#3 - It is going to hit a BLACK tyre wall, followed by concrete, and then a grass verge.

#4 - It actually hits some Red and Black tyres, and ends up in some gravel.

#5 - Safety Truck is on the move, WHILST he is still crashing.

    LMAO!

  • Car crashes in Slo-Mo with all the others underneath going... Full Speed?

    He's crashed into another Dimension!

  • haha this film is really bad. Anyway, I like it. :P

  • soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo fake

  • This has to be the worst film of all time. The crashes look completely unrealistic. The first one is laughable. Where did the flames come from? - Mr Director, the cars have safety fuel tanks! - Also when was the last time an indycar landed in a lake?

  • Why the hell is that woman looking the other way at the 51 second mark.

  • The only good part about Driven is that Paul Paige is calling all the races in the movie.

  • 1:31 the wheel would be going to fast the crowd wouldn't be able to move AHA. Shit movie.

  • 2:00 was so funny waaa farkkk

  • I still love the film... might be a poor effort, might be poor reality, but was still a good film to me.

  • I think your comment is false and calling people retards is immature.

The special effects though amusing cannot by any account be described as anything more than mediocre.

To say that sort of effects started in 2001 is incorrect. CGI chases/action of superior visual and technical quality had become common place several years earlier. This is demonstrated in titles such as Star Wars Phantom Menace (90%of the film footage was CGI) in 1999. In 2001 there were Pearl Harbor, Shrek, AI, Etc

  • Also, the film The Matrix which was released several years earlier (1999) featured effects that featured slowed down rotating action (Flow-mo, Bullet time). And indeed won an oscar for its special effects.

I think you should think about making authoritative sounding comments in future when you lack sufficient knowledge of the subject matter.

  • I remember wtching this movie at the cinema, but now I know that this movie is pure bullshit haha, not only because it's bad, the accidents are just so out of this world...

  • Do you think I donnot watch F-1??? I also used to watch CART and believe me, these accidents are just not possible

  • Now they all are in NASCAR

  • at 0:31 i give him a 10 on air time and an 8 on the landing

  • lmao 0:31

  • What got me, was when the car slammed into something, or the car landed, it made the sound of a 40 ton tank.

  • One of the worst movies ever made. It's a slap in the face of every Indycar/CART fan and driver as well.

  • That car randomly flying through the background at 2:00 is hilarious.

  • It's funny how all the accidents fly straight! at! the camera! :)

  • LMAO, I expect better crash physics from a dated computer game. at 0:50 the crowd stands up to see the crash better... but they look in different directions :D

  • you miss the wall crash :O why? Jimmie's crash was great too

  • Demolition derby rulex x)

  • Now exactly what Track did they use for the "Frankfurt GP" I Googled it and couldn't find anything.

  • the track for the "german 500" race in germany was the "Contidrom" near hannover! this is a normal test track for cars!! check goooogle for "Contidrom" hannover!

  • half fo those cars would be nothing but the control pods after those crashes

  • Surely the worst and most ridiculous movie I've ever watched...regret I actually did.

  • How was this movie approved by CART? At 1:30 when the tire flies into the stands, there actually was an incident in 2001 at Michigan where some fans were killed from flying debris, and also, in the first crash, how can the driver hit a sand trap when in the areal shot you can clearly see him spinning toward a wall

  • How was this movie approved by CART?

  • Remember when Will Smith flew the alien spacecraft to the alien mothership, yep that was realistic.

  • This was the WORST Racing movie ever, and I bet you CART, now IndyCar, was mad about this stupid, plotless movie. Wrecks are totally fake

  • FICTICIUS CRASHES!!!

    BAAADDD!!!

  • that movie made CART look retarded... when really it was the best series on the planet! This was a hideous movie that all in all sucked! almost as bad as a movie that would be made by FTG!!

  • The opening to Final Destination 4 will be similar to this, except the accident will fly into the audience. However, a group of people are ejected from the crowd before the accident.

  • IRL or any racing series doesnt flip that god damn much.

plus 1:49 = worst blowover rendition ever. jusus fucking crist, the cars have those huge ass wings, they'd have to be breaking 300 - 400 mph for the car to lift that easily.

  • 1:48 He randomly decides to spin out.

  • days of thunder was so much better

  • DoT is one of the best racing movies. Its up there with Grand Prix and Le Mans. We need an indycar movie set in the early '90s

  • What kind of damn shit is that. Thats propably the most unrealistic thing i've seen in my whole life. To the guy who produced that it's crab!!!!
