I found naomi's facebook through simon metin (the boy in "im a boy anorexic) and you'll probably find a few more people in these 2 series through his account, i just wanted to see how they look like now (:
@iCrlyfreek Search for Rhodes farm. I think the first one that shows up will be called "Anorexia clinic Rhodes Farm part 1 of 5" and a picture of a girl dancing. It was filmed before this documentary, and I(personally) like that better than this one :)
Whoever is interested about the real cause of anorexia should really check out psychoanalyst Lacan’s theory about it. Anorexia isn’t about wanting to be thin and pretty, it’s not about fear of growing up or the media effects at all, it’s about putting a limit to mothers or whoever plays the mother role. Anorexic’s mothers are so peculiar in different ways.
if you listen closely at 2:30 when natasha and naomi are hugging natasha says something like "now you'll have no one to do your sit ups with." I really hope natasha was better and she wasn't just putting on a front so she could go home
Ive read someof these commentsim not judgemental at all everyone has there own opinion on everything but it doesnt mean they are right im not right either but im just being honest .....i hope naomi gets better i see how she struggles it makes me want to cry .... ( sigh) i wish i can just hug her and tell her she is beautiful and she can make it :)
@iSingLaLaLove my 7 year old neighbour, whom I'm very close to, has cancer. You'd think that if anorexia was a choice, i would watch her die and say " i want to live a normal, healthy life, I want to live life to the fullest, I want to do it for her." And I do want to do this. Yet I have anorexia. A disease is a disease. There's no choice in the matter.
it is a disease, sorry but only if you've been through it yourswelf only then youll really know. ive been through it and its just soemthing that wont let you. if you do you hate yourself, so so much. i even ripped out my hair after eating a slice of bread once....it really was so awful. you dont control it, it controls you. im recovered now tho, and im proud to say that :) x
I still think it's unfair to call anorexia a disease. CANCER is a disease. Little children who get leukemia have absolutely no choice to get the disease and no matter how much they love their family or fight, it's ultimately not up to them whether they live or die. People with anorexia have the choice to look into their family member's eyes and see how much it's hurting them and they get the chance to eat. Granted, it is very hard for them to do so, but still...
@iSingLaLaLove people dont choose to be anorexic, its something they fall into by chance and wont readily admit that they have been engulfed by it. its not a nice thing thing to live with, nor is it easy for reletives and friends to cope with, but they cant help it. they cant turn it on and off like a tap.
@RevolTrousers I'm sorry, but you are telling me that people can't choose to not eat? It just happens? I'm sure it's not an easy thing to live with, but at the same time, so much time and energy is being spent trying to treat something that wouldn't have to be there in the first place. You are telling me that having anorexia is just like having cancer? Sorry, try again because anyone who believes that is FOOLISH.
@iSingLaLaLove Dude, it is a disease, only that it's not so much physical, but rather psychological. Only people who really suffer from anorexia will understand how hard it is to fight it. I'm on RevolTrousers's side on this debate, because YES, sometimes, it just happens
@iSingLaLaLove why u even watchimh this program if you think so low of these people? Or was it so you can comment cause you have issues of your own you need to release on someone or have nothing better to do? You're seriously pathetic, these people are ill!!
@iSingLaLaLove OMG u r a serious dumb ass! from reading your comments I can tell you don't know much about anorexia, at all! People with this, espec in the severe actually lose/are losing their ability to think rationally and you're talking like they can just pick up a folk and eat, like nothing! There brains actually shrink! Yes in a way it is like a cancer, because like cancer it's eating them from within! you really shudnt shout about things you clearly kno very little of!
@TellsHowItIs You are extremely rude and disrespectful. I'm glad that I read your comment though because I learned a lot from it, however, there definitely could have been a more civilized way to say it. :)
@iSingLaLaLove I am disrespectful???? ME???? You seriously need to analize your self! wow!! YOU were the one in the first place opening saying (on a ED programme at that!) the anorexics basically bring it upon themselves and that they are not ill but just seeking attention and wasting peoples time and money! You actually said this about people who are serverly self-consious and low about themselves as it is and you have the cheek to say I am rude? Do you hear you're self! You're mad!
@iSingLaLaLove it's not as easy as "looking into their family member's eyes and seeing how much it's hurting them" and then eating like normal again. Their entire way of thinking rationally when it comes to food/weight/body image/control becomes messed up. Yeah, they do see how they hurt their families, but they can't stop, it's not like that. Anorexia IS a disease and if you actually bothered to look it up you will see that it's the deadliest of all mental illnesses.
@smellyfish555 you know what? I have bothered to look it up and I also have looked at my best friend's 6 year old brother dying from leukemia. THAT is a disease. Anorexia is avoidable. Bottom line, end of discussion. Anorexia is simply for attention cravers and superficial brats who have no problems and decide to create one. Alright? Alright.
@iSingLaLaLove LOL well obviously you know NOTHING about anorexia (or probably anything, for that matter), either that or you are retarded. I sense bitterness in all your comments, maybe you are a fatass that is jealous of these sick yet thin girls? Moron.
@smellyfish555 hahaha i wish i could gain weight, that would be a wonderful accomplishment. The only bitterness in my comments is for the reason that the money spent trying to help these girls with a fake illness could be spent curing things that actually matter. God bless you :)
@iSingLaLaLove A disease is a disease, it prevents people from living with EASE hence the term DIS-EASE. So just sit down there in your computer chair and sulk because you are alone with your ignorant head-up-the-ass view, everyone else knows that each person deserves a healthy life, including people with mental illnesses.
@iSingLaLaLove And also, your use of the phrase "God bless you" leads me to think that you are possibly a Christian, so let me just turn something back on you: money spent for churches & other religious BS could be spent on things that actually matter (like eating disorders).
@smellyfish555 You are calling me pathetic? I am not the one who took the time to reply to you first. :) Anyway, you probably understand a lot about this disease because you suffer from it, so my best regards go out to you and I hope that you can recover!!
@iSingLaLaLove hahaha is that supposed to hurt my feelings? Poor little child you are. Honey, you don't have to have a disease to know a thing about it. It's called having a brain and common sense, things you lack unfortunately.
@smellyfish555 haha no, I was actually trying to be nice. You don't have to try and read into every single detail of a comment and think of negative things to say back. It's called having a brain and common sense, things you lack unfortunately. :)
@iSingLaLaLove Fuck you. I hope you get an eating disorder so you can see how torturous it is and how hard it is to stop. People like you make me so angry!
@iSingLaLaLove Anorexia actually works on the brain in the same wy amphetamine abuse does..its an addiction, controlled by the brain..The reasons for getting there in the first place are obviously different for each individual..But Kate Beckinsales "Its a good girls crack" comment, isn't so far from the truth..
1. A lot of the people I know with Ana have A LOT of problems with their life. Depression is a biggie. Some are abused, some lost a love one to suicide, some have been told countless times they're fat, worthless, and stupid. So these people to have problems.
2. Ana isn't always avoidable. It maybe me curable but not avoidable.
3. You're not the only person in the world that is or HAS watched someone die of cancer.
@iSingLaLaLove it's people like you that contribute to the reason so many girls like me choose to hide their illness and not get help. i spent almost 5 months as an inpatient at children's hospital getting intensive treatment for anorexia.
@iSingLaLaLove i also suffer from other painful diseases, so believe me when i say that i know what a disease is, and anorexia is a very real disease. anorexia is not always preventable, trust me when i say if i could have stopped it, i would have...so please, stop being so ignorant and posting these comments; especially on a video like this one.
@soccerjunkie139 I honestly don't even remember posting that earlier comment and I want to apologize for doing so! I definitely no longer think like this at all and I wish you the best!!
I think people have to remember, people with eating disorders can act very sly and devious, anorexia is a devious disease, and all of you bad mouthing Dee have to remember someone HAS to be the bad guy in this, otherwise they'll never get better! Anorexic girls at home are used to have control, hence the reason they get away with it. If someone isn't the bad guy, who's going to put a stop to it?
To be honest being all nice and airy fairy doesn't get you very far in terms of helping a young person to gain weight and start challenging anorexic cognitions. Support is obviously paramount, but often that support does need to be quite boundaried which is never fun for the patient or you as the nurse. Think what you like about the Dee woman, but the fact is these girls could not manage in their home environments despite all the love and support their families gave them. Go figure.
I would like to punch that so called expert on eating disorders in the face. She is absolutly no expert on anorexia, but is an expert on being a nasty bully who bullys ill, emotionally fragile, sad young CHILDREN. Natasha seems like a very bright girl and is probably a lot smarter than Dee!
but she used to be really nice, i watched a documentary with her from the 90s or something, and she was so nice and really close to all of the patients.
i think having to deal with people with anorexia everyday would change you. You'd get lied to and betrayed alot and in the end you have to be tough to help save their lives
And you know her personally? This documentary is more about the children and the illness. The other documentary was a lot more about Dee and her intensions. All you guys just see a few minutes of their lifes.
Would you rather see them bullied, or would you rather see them dead? Their parents and friends need to give them love and compassion - but SOMEBODY has to take the difficult role of being hard on them - forcing them to completely change the way they think, and fast. All these kids are in a really serious, dangerous stage of starvation when they come in. If noone is tough with them, they WILL die. You think she gets a kick out of it? She does what she has to to save their lives.
THEM THAT i'm NOT natasha, WHAT HAVE i DONE TO U?!
NOW GO PLAY WITH YOUR BARBIES AND LEAVE EVERYONE ALONE!!!
WHAT i SAID IS TRUE AND WHY WOULD U SAY IT ISN'T???
ARGH!!!
EVERYONE WHO IS READING...i AM natasha and i don't know why that girl said any of that...sorry for all of the capital letters but she reeaallly pissed me off!!!
i am natasha from the documentary,i've joined youtube and seen all of your comments which are very sweet and it's nice to see so many people care...i never 'recovered' when i left rhodes farm and spent the following 2 years constantly in and out of units, nearly got sectioned and lost all the weight...at the moment i have been out of the last unit for 8 months now and am not really eating but they've said it's my choice now, i'm doing my gcse's though and enjoying school
Ran out of room before... So what gcse's are you taking? How old are you now? By any chance do you Know Megan Jeffery? Do you have a myspace and/or facebook? Well, hope all is well, or the best it could be, I guess :)
You don't know me, but I've seen the "I'm a Child Anorexic Documentary" a few times and may have a sense of who you are. Oh my, sorry to hear you've been in and out of units since your departure from Rhodes =/ Is Rhodes still involved in your life? I'm glad to hear that your enjoying school. You seem to be a very bright, amicable, and talented young lady!
no she isnt natasha, shes a stupid liar who is pretending to be natasha and seeking attention. I went to that clinic and I know Natasha personally, I know her last name and birthday, and yourpsychiatrist didnt answer me when i asked, so shes making it up. dont believe this liar she isnt natasha.
chill out man it is me lol i have messeged u and why should i believe u know me anyway??? coz anyone who know's me would agree with what i've put!and when you've read it can u plz confirm here that it is me?!
OK I AM SO ANGRY COZ i JST LOOKED AT YOUR PROFILE...AND FIRSTLY U ARE 13YRS OLD,YOUR CALLED EBY AND U LOVE BARBIES AND DISNEY?!OH AND U LIVE IN CANADA!!! HOW CAN U KNOW ME PERSONALLY IF i WAS THE YOUNGEST AT THE CLINIC AND NOW i'm 15yrs OLD???
PLUS THERE WAS NO ONE THERE FROM CANADA!!! U ARE SICK IN THE HEAD,WHY WOULD U SAY i AM AN ATTENTION SEEKER IF U ARE THE ATTENTION SEEKER?!
U DON'T KNOW ME AT ALL AND i'm SO BLOODY ANGRY RITE NOW!!!WHY WOULD U WANT TO TELL PEOPLE WHO SAY i HAVE INSPIRED
i understand myself a lot more now and about ED's and would be happy to support anyone who would like any...
in a way i suppose u could say it's my choice now,it's been 3 and a half years and i've got used to it,however sad that may sound, this is who i am...
p.s:i am still in touch with Bryony and we don't live far from eachother and so i see her sometimes and she is great and doing fine, one special girlie xxx
that was a great documentary. now i know that anorexia is not just some crazy people/kids who want to starve themselves for looks. <3 i feel for them.
natasha is sooo smart for her age . shes gonna be okay ^.^ i think with time they will all find a bit of stability in thier mind, i really hope they do cause they all deserve happiness

i am natasha from the documentary,i've joined youtube and seen all of your comments which are very sweet and it's nice to see so many people care...i never 'recovered' when i left rhodes farm and spent the following 2 years constantly in and out of units, nearly got sectioned and lost all the weight...at the moment i have been out of the last unit for 8 months now and am not really eating but they've said it's my choice now, i'm doing my gcse's though and enjoying school

Hello Natasha,
You don't know me, but I've seen the "I'm a Child Anorexic Documentary" a few times and may have a sense of who you are.

I think the part that sucks the most is that they ahve to be monitored, and even sent back if they lose just one kg!
