I was watching this in class today, and lot of the kids were laughing at the song... they didn't

read the subtitles. Except for one girl, who came up to the screen and started singing along

with the subtitles. Nobody in my class likes anime so this made me feel great. Then over the

Then in regret message (3rd song to series) its about sending a wish in a bottle Len taught Rin, in which Rin was holding a bottle with a note in it at 3:55 and at 4:01 Len says "If I could be reborn again" in which the last song of the series, Re_birthday, it's about him being reborn. Odds are that their parents are dead and the governing officials who were meant to protect and teach Len how to rule, instead stripped him of his rights to the throne and instead set sister more innocent sister as the official heir to the throne becuase she would be easier to control. They probably only had her as a figurehead while they ruled the country.
