One great tool that is not mentioned is:

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

It is free just like Ad-Adware and there is a paid version which includes real-time scanning just like Ad-Aware. Malwarebytes, in my opinion and others I've spoken with do agree, does a better job than Ad-Aware and Spybot S&D in cleaning out malicious software and their registry keys. I still recommend Ad-Adware and Spybot S&D as another level of protection and cleaning.
