My 15month old son goes about naked waist down when at home and has started to ask to go to the potty by pointing at it and saying that. he has words for pee and poop. waiting till a child is 4 yrs old is stupid yes they will do it easier but parenting isnt about whats easier for the parent its about what is right for the child, peeing and pooping all over themselfs for 4 yrs is shocking!! In the uk potty training is done at 18months in most cases, unless child is ready before.
this is wrong, ITS called waiting for potty training your kid, at a age like 4 your kid will have no problem with potty training and its FUCKING easy to do, your kid is smart and can do all this by them selfs when THEY want to!
@traxxas1234567890 I think it's tough to find the perfect moment to potty train. I'm not sure that letting a kid sit in their own waste for an extra 3 years is necessarily the right answer. Maybe it works easier for some to wait, but one of the potential problems is some kids by 4 years old have learned only to poop in a diaper and will wait to go until a diaper is put back on.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! We're currently potty training our 15 month old son, and after a horrendous start yesterday, we were seriously considering calling the whole thing. I tried googling "potty training 15 month old" and was left with the impression that I was insane for doing so. Not so anymore. We shall soldier on! :oD
@chocko6913 I'm commend your early start though I think every kid is different as far as when it is easiest to potty train. Though I think if you look historically and cross-culturally our current average of 3 years old is late. I wrote a blog post on the topic if you want to read more, google "Who decides when to potty train: you, baby or Big Diapers?" Good luck!
@chocko6913 My daughter potty trained my son when he was about this age. He was fully trained at 18 months. He'd been going around sans-pants for a while (late teething = butt rash = needing to air out), and suddenly he realized what was going on. His four year old sister really took the bull by the horns- "Here, buddy, this is how you use the potty..." I just bought a potty chair and got out of their way. :)
Thank you for posting!

@cashncarryma My son doesn't have an older sibling to look up to, but he's been potty trained for 6 months now. (A few accidents here and there)
Hopefully he'll help his sister when she gets older. :o)
18 months is awesome to be potty trained!
