@Arxidianomeas True but for someone taking up stargazing with a limited funds the Dob is the best bang for your buck and prob one of the most simple scopes to use.
Hi to everyone.......I want to buy a telescope but I don't know which one I should go for it's either going to be an Orion atlas 10 or an Orion skyquest xt12....which one should I go for......I want one that will allow me to some deep-sky viewing(galaxies, nebulas etc) I know both of the are able to see the mentioned above but which one is the best one....what's your reccomendation.....which one would you guys choose
what is the difference betwen the short tube or long tube telescopes. im a beginner and want to buy a telescope to see the moon and other planets like venus, mars, jupiter and saturn. Will a short tube like the one from the ''Orion ShortTube 80-A Refractor Telescope'' be good for me?
They don't. And it doesn't require a laser collimater and skill. Just common sense. The term Dobsonian refers to the mount, not the optics. Newtonian reflectors are sometimes mounted on a Dobsonian mount. This means that the tube assembly and optics within remain static.
Don't be envious. You can afford a decent telescope to use at home which will show you some beautiful objects. Start with the basics and work your way up. You'll get there.
Wow. That 25" looks like it belongs on a mountain top observatory.

Most big dobs need to be collimated
many times per night.
That requires a laser collimater & skill.
