  • Really great video! I just got this as my first smart phone and was extremely disappointed at the low battery life after the first charge. I realize now that my expectations were a bit high, and i was using it like crazy the first 6/7 hours. I made several changes based on your suggestions, and changed my perception a bit about the battery life of smart phones in general. The phone seems to be holding a much longer life now. Thanks again for the video, one of the most informative ive seen!

  • Ok...I like the vid so props. I'm a moderate user. I facebook, maybe watch a vid or 2. But mostly use it as a mp3 device ie working out or driving to or from work...do I really need to get the razr maxx?

  • @hummer661 Depends on what app you use. Built in music app - you're fine with the regular RAZR. Google Music - battery will take a hit. Amazon MP3 playing local music - battery will take a hit.

  • Good videos. I found them helpful. Thanks!

  • I have decided not to get a MOto Droid Razor because, I expect a phone to last 4 years and if the battery is only going to last 2 then I will get one with a replaceable.

  • How many years will this battery last? 2 years, 5 years? batteries don't last forever? I want a phone to last 4 years.

  • @gringojohn2 Most Lithium Ion batteries can be expected to last at least 2 years - assuming regular charging. Then their life will degrade.

  • thankfully, motorola listen to their costumers.. they have the new droid razr maxx... mistermarcusgmail can u review the razr maxx batery life? :) please...

  • @jomac21 As much as I'd like to, I can't feasibly see justifying the purchase. If I manage to sell some products then I'll consider it.

  • i really like this phone, but all of the limitations of its battery kinda bothers me.. the reviewer said that dont play with it that much... just use it to send email, open facebook or any kind that it will not drain its battery much faster.. no offence to the reviewer, his reviews are great... but, if that is the case, why motorola bothered to put a dual core processor and a gigabyte of ram anyway if we could just use it as a phone? im just saying..

  • great video, wish more people would think and understand the things you point out. And like u said it is a phone not a tablet or laptop, etc.

  • i got the phone 2 days ago, i have it set to lowest brightness, no gps, no background data sync, wifi and no 3g and no 4g, and my phone can only last 5-6 hours. does anyone know why thats the case?

  • @probowl2 Need to know what's running under Battery Usage.

  • @mistermarcusgmail .... display - 31%, voice calls 16%, android system 11%, android OS 10%, cell standyby, phone idle, com.motorla.home, swype, wifi 3%, text messaging, facebook.

right now is 12 hours on battery, 3 hours 5 mins time on for display and its down to 30%.

i do have a job, i dont watch youtube, netflix, i only use a little fb, text msgs, email, read webpages. thanks for your help

  • As a side note for comparison, I've been off of charger since 6:30AM. It's now almost 4pm, and my Display is just under an hour total. Yours being 3 hours tells me you're using it quite a bit - and I don't know your brightness or anything, but that is a lot of use. Not enough to destroy 70%, but you might really assess that amount of usage. I mean I've been using my phone on breaks and lunch checking email and news and I have nowhere near 3 hours of display.

  • @mistermarcusgmail in your opinion, would i be better off getting a HTC rezound and buy an additional battery pack versus, using this razr, or i am still in that trial phase with verizon, and i can upgrade to a droid razr maxx?

  • @probowl2 Maxx may or may not have better battery life. 12 hours/70% battery is actually not bad at all. It looks like you're not in Wi-Fi the majority of the time; the 4G radio may be killing the battery. It's not the display, that I can assure you.

Keep in mind that any phone you get will be harmed by 4G usage. It's just the nature of the technology today. Wi-Fi as much as you can.

  • @mistermarcusgmail .. i didnt use 4G at all today. lol. and i turned on 3g only sporadically throughout the day.

  • @probowl2 I got the HTC rezound and it has some issues with static noise. rezound suppose to have amazing sound, but there are a lot issues with static noise. the standard battery sucks, i got also the extneded it works well but you end up carrying a brick. today I'm going to verizon to return it. my wife's iphone works way better than the rezound. be aware of all those issues.

  • @adicto001 ,,,, i got the droid razr maxx. its expensive at 300 with a 2 year agreement, but the battery life is really impressive. i am not too heavy of a user but i do go online, text, fb, etc and i charge it once every 2 days, or once every 1.5 days.

  • my battery broke got to get new one

  • very helpful review

  • I feel like I'm 16 again and being looked up and down by my father hearing you talk about 'If you are doing your job, paying attention in school, not texting your bff, ect" lol

Good review. This helps me make my purchase decision!

  • I know its unrelated but, one day my droid incredible reached 1 day, 7 hours, and 47 mins. I want the droid razr now!

  • great set of review!!! very helpful! i have already ordered mine, here in India :)

  • Also, having a darker background will save battery since its Super Amoled.

  • Outstanding in depth review.

  • Very excellent and beneficial to me tremendously....... I'm in a 4g area but I could turn my LTE radio off when out and about. Thought of this before but never in full. Thanks.

  • Your coverege of this phone is more than impressive . Good job !
