  • I Love Him!!

  • 78 and still going

  • He is the best..one and only..there'll never be another one like him...never...ever...He'll always be number one in music, in life, in being fun.....

  • Little Richard doesn't need to get high, he's naturally wacky.

  • he was and is just naturally eccentric

  • How come his nose is white?

  • don't know why, but this reminds me of when mean gene used to interview the wrestlers in the 'locker room' or something

  • i'm rick JAAMES, bitch!

  • LITTLE RICHARD FOR PRESIDENT!!!!

    "BE ENCOURAGED"!!!

  • I named my 1st puppy Little Richard & he was as WHITE as SNOW....1st time I saw him on TV ,my family could NOT move me!! I saw Hillbilly cats jive`n around, but Richard! Way ahead of this World, pushed it IN YO FACE...LOVE This CAT...GOD BLESS L.R.P. He started most of us on the road & I well NOT play W/ some one who not in 2 Him...Ca$h Calloway THAN-Q

  • goofballs technically are depressants so if he was high, which he's never been known for, it wasn't on them.

  • Richard is just jiving...he is still the GREATEST. Hope he is around for another 200 years. The world needs more of LITTLE RICHARD.

  • Go Little Richard!

  • yeah Austin delivers quite a music scene, right on Richard!

  • He's definitely high.

  • OMG he must be the best looking/ active 70 year old ive ever seen in my life. he looks 50.

  • That's just his personality. There was a time when people were actually unique, when artists were "crazy" and it was OK...

  • He's not crazy, just old. He can still sing though.

  • He may be in his own universe at times, but Little Richard is one of the best singers, EVER!!!!

  • lol "yes, just seventeh" he's 75 here.

  • am i out of my f***ing mind or is he white in this clip?!

  • Its the pankcake 31 . make up is his thing

  • ANyone else get their first glimpse of LR in Mother Goose Rock n' Rhyme? I had to just now IMDB it for the name, I haven't seen it in probably 18 years, but LR plays a king in it

  • LUV Little Richard - the originator of Rock n Roll.

  • methamphetamine and pentobarbitol, what a combination...goofballs!

  • He clearly doesn't remember his first time in Austin. Little Richard is the best. "GET.... ENCOURAGED". So simple. I watch this video whenever I feel low and it always makes me feel good!

  • He looks and sounds so young, Its ridiculous how he doesn't age

  • @Laughingman120 Pancake No 5. Baby! LOL

  • why did i get a thumbs down u guys 4got what era Richard was performing in or not!! I mean this was a time when black people was getting killed just 4 sitting in a white restaurant! FOLK would not want a black man 2 over succeed in the music biz!!! I hate how people try 2 be naive of the fact that this was a major issue!!!!!

  • Man, when was it filmed? He has a lot of energy and his voice sounds great. What a character! Amazing person. True legend.

  • I believe the white folks back in the day saw Richard as a serious threat and didn't want him 2 be on top! so they did what they do best which was steal richard's music i'm being outspoken and sayin u can try and be the originator but u can't be him this 2 all the pat boone and Buddy holly fans out there!

  • Pat Boone shouldnt even be mentioned in the same sentence as Buddy Holly. Pat Boone purposely covered Little Richard songs in order to clean up the threat of rock and Roll. Hes a joke.Buddy Holly on the other hand was a talented young songwriter and guitarists who idolized Richard, and went on to wrote some of Rock and Rolls classic songs. Big difference

  • I was in an angry rage at the time after watching Little Richard movie! My bad LOL But my point is majority of these artist claimed they wrote Richard songs! I mean come on not to sound racist or nothing but you can hear how Richard talks and you would know he's the originator of tutti frutti N his other songs! LOL a saying goes "a black person writes how he talks!"

  • The white cover artists never tried to claim the songs as their own, they were trying to clean up the original versions because the lyrics were hidden meanings for sex. They just did a clean version of it to get a hit on the pop charts. The teenagers knew who sang the real version of Tutti Frutti- and some time has passed, and Pat Boone is forgotten about-and Little Richard is one of the Kings of Rock and Roll.

  • I was just about writting something like you did. Thank you!

  • Man, we both think Richard is one of the greatests rockers, but I think too much like rbound827. Let Buddy Holly outside the comment, he has a great guy and musician.

  • this man is off the chain!

  • He's high on life, IMO. Listen to his words: he's lived through a lot and he's still around to tell us his stories, bless him. Happy birthday and long live Little Richard!

  • is he gay im being serious i dont know but i wanna know so can som1 help me out?

  • Oh yeah, he's gay alright.Though you got to give him props for having the BALLS to wear listick in the '50s. yep he gay tho

  • It's just my opinion, but I think LR to be the beginning of Rock and Roll. He started the style and really brought around the music of the time. Elvis was also a great artist but what he did was bring the rock and roll style to the white audience.

  • I agree that Little Richard pre dates Elvis (LR started putting out records in '51), but he wasn't the "beginning". Rock and Roll is a fusion of jazz, bles, jump blues, gospel, r&b and juke joint music. There are records going back to the 30s with the R&R feel (wailing sax, blaring guitars) but true Rock and Roll had to have the distinctive back beat. In my opinion, the first rock and roll record was Gee by The Crows.

  • the 1 and only little RICHARD HES SOOOOOOOO CUTE

  • my two faves, texas austin and little r...yay!

  • I wuvs you widdle wichard

  • ok its you max.

  • he rhymes alot doesnt he

what a legend hes got the best voice ever !!!

  • I hope my hair looks that good at 70 years old.

  • Uh, I don't quite know how to break this to you, but he purchased that hair down at the store.

  • @BooBots LOL !

  • Little Richard looking like the star he is, living legend, love him!

  • he's better in the Geico commercials

  • SHUT UP!! LOL

  • Why does this video says he is "hopped up on goofballs" he's just Little Richard. He is not on drugs.

  • I think this is a reference to a certain cult show perhaps?

  • Seeing this video has totally encouraged me to get encouraged.

  • The King of R & R still walking amongst his loyal subjects, the old and new fans who now have a chance, thru the Web, to review his *whole* influential career, not just the era of "Golden Oldies". It's nice that arrived and thrived in Austin! Oh my Soul!!

  • Little Richard turned 75 this year. He is one of the last living trailblazers of Rock and Roll. Surely there must have been some kind of tribute.

  • long live the king of rock n roll

  • Elvis died in 1977. Sad how some people have tried to dethrone him. Love Little Richard, but Elvis is the King.

  • Elvis was just a pretty white boy singing little Richards songs......Respect Little the true king of R'n'R ;-)

  • "A lot of people have accused Elvis of stealing the Black man's music, when in fact, almost every Black solo entertainer copied from Elvis." Jackie Wilson

Just trying to help inform you. You're missing the boat if you don't know Elvis for who he was.

  • An alleged quote from Jackie Wilson means what? Jackie isnt the music Messiah! Elvis wasnt innovative, he took black music's formula...and made it work for himself, and thats fine

but give credit where it's rightfully due

  • "Jackie isnt the music Messiah!" And YOU are?

Elvis was as much influences by country music as black music. But more than anything was his a raw untrained style as a performer and singer. He was no copy of anybody, and everybody copied him.

  • No, I'm not the Messiah, and I didnt quote myself like you quoted Jackie either, his opinion is just that, HIS opinion, and it doesnt negate everyone else's opinion

Btw, I accidentally hit thumbs down, my apologies

  • You didn't quote yourself? I'm confused. And furthermore, was it somehow wrong for me to quote someone?

  • No, I quoted you, I just hit the thumbs down icon accidentally

No! It isnt wrong, it's just not fact...that's all

  • elvis copied dumb motherfucker, get that thre wyou pale negro brain

  • Crack legal in Canada?

  • well said

  • The beatles blow goats .

  • Elvis only sang two or three songs that little richard had also sang, but I don't think he recorded any after 1957. Little Richard is a great entertainer. I respect LR, but have some respect for Elvis.

  • Your discussion has no sense! How can Elvis be the king in Little Richard's world? He is one of the inventors....Elvis was, like Chuck Berry just a great rock n' roller! I don't dig Little Richard, i think he is too arrogant and he acts like he's a god or something! Plus he hated Jimi hendrix, one of my heroes hehe!!!!!

  • He didn't hate Jimi Hendrix, Jimi was, at one time, his guitar player, but he was fired by Richard for showing off too much, which is understandable, because Richard was the star! Richard, Elvis, and Chuck, all defined the sound of real Rock 'n' Roll before 1957, so I would say that they were all co-creators of Rock 'n' Roll!

  • Well yeah....he hated him for showing off! I agree that they all define the sound of rock and roll in the 50's, but rock and roll borrowed rhytms and musical arrangements from black music, like boogie woogie! As far as I am concerned, Elvis should be praised along with other white men like Roy ORbison and JL Lewis for breaking this barrier! I didn't mean that Little RIchard is the inventor of rock and roll, but like other black men (Ike Turner, Jackie Brenston) has his share! !

  • Your exactly right. Little Richard even thought of Jimi as a star. He explains it in a video. He's liked Jimi. Also, there are no co creators. Little Richard created Rock & Roll in the year of 1951. Elvis did not start his career until about three years later.

  • sshh ish licksh rishard

  • That's right "homeboy". People who don't understand true "SOUL" and "Rock and Roll" music don't realize what a blessing you are. I love you Richard.

    Mary from Macon

  • Same old Richard.
