Then ignition material you're using is quite moist! Dry it in an oven at 200 degrees F, then store it in sealed containers, such as tins or plastic bags.
I dont get why so many people use modern things for this?! Another guy said he BUYS the wood, kiln dried, for this at home depot cause and someone else said they put Petro jelly on it?! The whole point is you have NOTHING modern!
I've had a lot of success with two little tricks. One is adding a few grains of sand to the fireboard in the drill hole. And the second is actually creating a reverse wrap twisted string, out of shoe lace or 550 cord. The twists create a better grip on the spindle. Thanks for the vid!
It was a joke bud lol. Seriously, the string just loops around it - or you could even twist it around the drill before you completed the drill I suppose.
hehe im sure this is very late.. but you dont use a coal, a coal is what it formed from the heat :) im sorry i havnt seen until now, i wish somebody else had helped you when it was important
Yeah I had a tiny bit of cotton just on top as a coal extender because the yucca fibers are too coarse to hold an ember because it just falls through the bundle and I didn't have any other materials to hand!
@guitarkid2442 kid did a great job i like to put cotton and some petro jelly man mankes that shit last alot longer u can do it with used dryer lint to
