@coollyaid now thats not true. mac makes the operating system allong with the hardware so it doesn't lag and stuff. there are many little things about mac that comes standart such as led screen, glass, magnetic safe adapter, multitouch trackpad etc, that no other company has or if they do they are much more expensive. it has a better interface for sound video and image proscessing(and that comes from a sound egineer. the only thing that mac doesn't have and windows does is viruses

The thing I think the thing alexosh1234 was pointing out is that that feature comes standard on every macbook sold now. I don't have one, mine is being shipped to me now. I've used it on my friend's macbook and it really comes in handy when typing in the dark. Someone else said that using that feature in the dark can really strain your eyes...but it's a very soft light.

How do you find the screen? i heard that the black levels and colour accuracy are just as bad as the last generation, do you find an improvement? i want to get one of these, but not if it has a terrible screen.
They don't come in black. it starts at $1299. his was at least $1599. the $1299 one doesn't have a back lit keyboard and a lot of other differences in the hardware
Get it on eBay. People buy wholesale (like from China or wherever the computers are made) and they can sell them for cheap. Just look for sellers with lots of feedback and of at least 99%+. I got mine for $1389 with free shipping and no tax. AND if you get the PayPal credit card then you have three months to spread out the cost.
if you want it right away, then go down to the Apple Store. If you can wait, then order it online because you can customize it and get it delivered to your doorstep for free.
No see People are still thinking about how the old macbooks was no where near the Macbook pro so people back then always went with the pro. But now Apple had took the macbook and upgrade it to keep up with the macbook pros. so pretty much they the same and just as fast but you dont see the differents. they both come with 2gb of ram both able to upgrade to 4gbs. only thing different is pros got two graphics cards one for 3d gaming and one for to save battery the macbook just as good as sa pro
not always unless u have a super beefy computer for windows cause vista is just a sucky OS.. OS X runs a lottttt faster which same specs as windows. I can never go back to windows i have so many problems with it considering crashes, freezes, and errors.

maybe its just your computer that causes it to crash cause i have a 2.0 GHz iMac Aluminum and i always have like 8+ tabs open and several windows and it runs smooth

to adjust the brightness you dont need to go to some special settings. u do it the same way as on your macbook..btw im mac user too. i cant listen to waht you are saying..or i dont know what windows machine you were using i dont think it takes longer to load programs or to install them. safari ? dude try FF, way better. ur review is useless sorry mate

you do realize with boot camp you can run XP, Vista, and the upcoming Windows 7 flawlessly right? You can even run Vista better on a Mac FFS.... and this is coming from someone who doesn't even own a mac.
well if its to expensive for you then dont complain about it and buy a PC.... Its not too expensive for everyone and u can play some games on it or just get windows and put it on to game. I have COD4 for my iMac and it runs amazing
the new mac and a pc are really close in price try to find a pc with 2.4ghz 2gbs of ddr3 ram and an nvidia 9400m the pc will be slightly cheaper but not much.
for me, i did... constantly programs crashed. The OS is unstable and the mac is more stable, thats y i bought it. Also, the Windows is o.k. for some things(certain programs) but I like the Mac os better. Its overall sleeker and cooler looking, easier to use!

I've never had a problem with a windows machine.
I hate the really really biased people.
Macs are nice, but cost way too much money for what you're getting.
Windows machines are great, Vista isn't the hell that people make it out to be. Again, I've never had a problem.
Also, you don't have to go into settings to mess with screen brightness, I can press the dedicated keys on my $300 Compaq notebook to adjust brightness.
I've used Windows since I've started using computers and I actively made a choice to switch to the Mac. Maybe you are the one who is ignorant since you don't appear to have tried using OS X extensively.
I've been wanting 2 go 2 the Apple store 2 buy a 13" but i just don't have the time and i don't know how apple makes 13" screens ( I've always been a PC )so if anyone can tell me or make some kind of comparison with another object so i can get an idea of how big it is it'd be great .
Why won't you ever get one? I only recently fell in love with Macbooks and the MBP - I'd prefer a PC for a desktop. But my acer is only just over a year old (didn't know much about computers then).

you can buy a black case for it from someone like "speck" and that looks cool.
as far as cost, if you're a student or a teacher, you can get a discount through the apple store.
(i got my 2.4GHz for $1499 instead of 1599)
there's not really much difference except for the +.4 processing power, a backlit keyboard in addition to a bigger standard HD.

Mac pro has a bigger screen, but the new macbook has the new graphics. ah, this is a hard one for me, lol. i am wanting a mac and i have had this problem for a little while. I think that you would get a little more with the mac pro. especially that when the macbook pro's were the latest ones, thy were like over 1800$, and you wuold get it for 1349$. I would go for the Mac pro

thanks for the reply. i was having a big dilemma over it too lol. yesterday my mom went out and bought me the macbook its in her trunk right now outside my house have to wait till like nine to open it im excited. :] macbook pro is awesome too so really hard choice. thankss

I would just like to point out, the macbook has just as much power as the old generation Macbook Pro, so they are just as powerful.

Aha, don't worry about Safari crashing on you, I have a 8-core Mac Pro and Safari crashes whenever I load about 5+ tabs at once or when I restore my previous session. :)

maybe its just your computer that causes it to crash cause i have a 2.0 GHz iMac Aluminum and i always have like 8+ tabs open and several windows and it runs smooth

brian, it will always happen but it will most likely happen randomly because mine has crashed to and im running macbook pro 10.5.6 2.5 ghz dual core processor with 4 g of ram

to adjust the brightness you dont need to go to some special settings. u do it the same way as on your macbook..btw im mac user too. i cant listen to waht you are saying..or i dont know what windows machine you were using i dont think it takes longer to load programs or to install them. safari ? dude try FF, way better. ur review is useless sorry mate

i mean yeah it talks about the mac but u should also tell the bad things about it...not just what u liked....that way we can see if it really is a good laptop or not

you do realize with boot camp you can run XP, Vista, and the upcoming Windows 7 flawlessly right? You can even run Vista better on a Mac FFS.... and this is coming from someone who doesn't even own a mac.

well if its to expensive for you then dont complain about it and buy a PC.... Its not too expensive for everyone and u can play some games on it or just get windows and put it on to game. I have COD4 for my iMac and it runs amazing

the new mac and a pc are really close in price try to find a pc with 2.4ghz 2gbs of ddr3 ram and an nvidia 9400m the pc will be slightly cheaper but not much.

I think your comments on the new mac are valid but you're exaggerating your criticism of windows, most people don't have the issues you describe.

for me, i did... constantly programs crashed. The OS is unstable and the mac is more stable, thats y i bought it. Also, the Windows is o.k. for some things(certain programs) but I like the Mac os better. Its overall sleeker and cooler looking, easier to use!

I've never had a problem with a windows machine.
I hate the really really biased people.
Macs are nice, but cost way too much money for what you're getting.
Windows machines are great, Vista isn't the hell that people make it out to be. Again, I've never had a problem.
Also, you don't have to go into settings to mess with screen brightness, I can press the dedicated keys on my $300 Compaq notebook to adjust brightness.

I've used Windows since I've started using computers and I actively made a choice to switch to the Mac. Maybe you are the one who is ignorant since you don't appear to have tried using OS X extensively.

I've been wanting 2 go 2 the Apple store 2 buy a 13" but i just don't have the time and i don't know how apple makes 13" screens ( I've always been a PC )so if anyone can tell me or make some kind of comparison with another object so i can get an idea of how big it is it'd be great .

Why won't you ever get one? I only recently fell in love with Macbooks and the MBP - I'd prefer a PC for a desktop. But my acer is only just over a year old (didn't know much about computers then).
