to xaylin cont.....It was the family of the prophet that hated him the most. He left&spent YEARS calling them to Islam. Imagine, if we threw away every sinner. Nobody would be left. I know its hard. But if "WE" are diligent in our DEEN. Somebody will recognize(not the reason we do it. But it is a natural consequence) Islam wasn't spread by the sword like some say. There were way more Swords against Islam than for it. The swords submitted to Islam. Thank YOU for your question. It helped me.

I am a muslim from Turkey. In one of the verses it says that you always have to obbey your parents. Well my mother is a great sinner, and has no beliefs of god at all, and she asked for divorcement from my dad. She has done horrible sins against us. And I wonder, do I still treat her respectfully? Even if she is a big sinner?

Yes brother, you have to give respect to your mother even though she is a disbeleiver. Pray Allah and ask dua for hidayath for your mother. Insha Allah I am doing dua for the same.

treat her respectfully, and respectfully disobey her. maybe being kind to her will make her realize her mistakes. Jannah lies at the feet of the mother.

Such is the honour given to mothers that no matter what she does, she has the right to be respected and cared by you. But, you should always remind her of the consequences of sin and that is your obligation as a Muslim. May Allah make it easy for you in this blessed month of Ramadan.

@xxaylin I know you got your answer. It's been a year. But its a very, very, good question. And it happens way more than you think. Of course you respect her. You make Du3a for her. The devil has her. She strayed. "YOU".......live a righteous life. And maybe she can come back. Repent..........Allah forgives us all. We have until the last second of life to repent. SAWT. Thats the problem w/us Muslims today-we want to save the world. ANd neglect our family. In the end it is ALLAH that judges us.

in ayat 47, God is speaking to the children of Isreal and continues on...i think God is saying that He guided them when they went astray in hopes that they would be grateful...this is what i got out of the verse and insha'allah it will help you
