@hitpoint3 This is of Torq, but lately I've been using Serato itch and Serato scratch live. I'm thinking about doing a quick vid showing the differences between the two....
@98menace98 I know that it doesn't only use itunes. When I was using it I never did... but yeah, there's supposed to be an update, so hopefully the software's more stable now
Good stuff man. Planning on getting a DVS, might just buy the tt200's. I dont see the need to shell out lots of money to spin timecode. Those TTs seem pretty wicked. You rock em nice brotha...
@RosaAndAlberto Thanks! Yeah, they work really well, the stanton str8-150's are good I hear, too... There's lots of options for timecode out there nowadays, that's for sure!
Yo man your performance is well wicked though work on your scratching technique and learn more, expansive skills such as crabbing and all of the other more complex styles which will enable you to get more expressive, but that's some original stuff you got going on there man.
hows the torque on these tt's is it just as strong as tech 1200's? I plan on gettin these w/ dj trim 4&6 & vinyl tht come with it + vdj pro. Great mix btw
@warfang222 In this video I'm using a DVS called Torq, which allows me to use my turntables just as they would be with vinyl, but I use special control vinyl that is coded to play mp3's on my computer. Google Torq, Serato, or Traktor, and you'll see what I mean.
How do you have your sampler hooked up to your set up..thru midi or a seperate channel? What computer program are you using serato?..i have tt200s also and i also have a sampler(korg esx) just wondering how i can include it in my set up not including the simple way by putting it on it seperate channel, im about to get serato also
try scratching with a real record and not a computer. anyone can do that? then try scratching with 2 real records and only a mixer lol future noobs. and for the turntable questions get some technics ive had mine for 9 years now and never had a problem once. all other turntables are garbage.
@Ehxon Hey man, no need to hate. I started on real vinyl, and it's really not too different to have a DVS. It just makes gigging out lighter and allows you to carry more with you each night. I now have both tt200's and technics, and they are both good decks. There are a lot of options out there, and you need to find what works good for you. If you'd like to post some of your skills, I'd love to see you throw down!
@Ehxon LOL what a noob for what you're saying "all other turntables" technics aren't the king they once were buddy, and I own two MK5's, get real, and if you knew anything about DVS systems you would know it's exactly like using two real records.
Hella sick scratching man. I'm lookin to step up to virtual vinyl. Right now I gig with a Vestax VCI 100 that runs Traktor at a couple bars in town. How would you compare Torq to the Traktor Scratch software? I was looking into getting the TT200's with a Vestax PMC 5 Pro III and the Traktor Kontrol X1 so that I would't have to be messing with my laptop all the time. Anyone have input on that setup? Anything would be appreciated, I'm all about learning :) Thanks
I am thinking about purchasing theese I would like to know if you ever had to get theese repaired? Or buy new stuff for? And sick ass routine you got there.
I know people ask you a lot of question but can i ask you how long you have had the tt200's? I'm curious on the durability of these tables because I'm interested in picking up a pair. and by the way, loving this mix
can u use m audio torq software to dj parties? ima mobile dj... im preparing to buy numark tt200s and a software (was thinking serato) but can i have some feedback on this software? thank you!
yo groove style how the Torque on the tt-200's im looking to buy them i just want to make sure they have the right amount of torque. BTW Good shit on this set.
Its the vinyl that comes with m audio torq software, basicaly its not a track ro anything on it, its just so the turntables and needles can relate to the digital tracks on the software
@GGAlice1 It's timecoded vinyl called Torq, controlling a dj program on the computer. You just use the computer program and load a song on the deck, and you can mix with the vinyl. Really cool stuff, check out Serato and Torq to see more.
thats the best set up that you can buy on a budget the rest is tallent, the only diff with mine is i have a korg padkontrol, but its all on the person using it, once youve used technics youve used them all
Well I honestly get my records locally at the record/music store... but lately it's been harder and harder to find battle records. If I were you I'd just google around for a records store online. There's a lot but it depends on what you want for what site you want to go to
well I had been loooking around but i dont know what to look for, I would really love to get the qlimax records but idk where to get them and the fact that they are from the netherlands...i cant read shit on the website. Other than that...you think i could hook it up to a comp and use something like deckadance?
hook what up? Yeah you can hook up your turntables as long as you have the soundcard/box thing that the specific program requires. From there, all you need is timecoded vinyl. If you like dance music try dancerecords. com or beatport
well i should be getting some cheapy tables soon, the gemini scratchmaster 5.0 for 150 dollars, thanks to my friends mom. I was thinking i could find a way to hook it up to deckadance but its sounding more complicated than i thought. But i will check out those sites, thanks.
thanks for being online and helping me. I really appreciate it. You should check out the gemini scratchmaster 5.0 I think its an alright set especially with the deal i should be getting. Idk what happened with it. She hasnt called...damn i better get em.
hey i have the same numark tt200 with stanton headshell and shure m44g. i was wondering how did you set up the tonearm?? the needle always skips on me.. cant even do a decent backspin. when i pull the weight all the way to the back, the tone arm still points down.. is that normal? i cant make the tonearm float freely with the cartridge on... any help will be greatly appreciated.
honestly, it's up to your own personal opinion and what you plan to use it for. If I were you, just research the two things to death and then decide what you want and what works for you.
not really, you may want to call up the help line for m-audio or torq.. Also check out their website for video instructions for your setup. Also, check your ground wires and connections first to make sure they are correct. Other than that I'm not sure, it could be a number of things. Be sure to check the website anyways, it's got a lot of good tips for the program!
It's called a trigger finger (made by M-Audio). It's a midi controller that you can use for a number of different things, including torq. I really like it a lot and find myself using it more and more in my mixes.
thanks for the info but, i have 1.07 now and it doesn't seem to work. i contacted m-audio b4 downlaoding 1.07 and asked them about the mixer. they said i could hide it but, i guess they lied. i'm about to swith back to serato. i mean as much as torq has been screwing up latley and then their little lies and there new 1.5 upgrade that they are going to charge you for, i'm done. serato has charged for 1 upgrade and it was the video one, thats it. plus every v. worked. torq still has to many flaws.
You should do some gigs and get some top of the line crap cause you will werk for numark someday. If you want to you should Get the TT500s they are really good man.
haha this is debated all over the internet! I chose Torq because of its built in effects, looping, and cheaper price. Many people have Serato as well. It's more expensive, but more tested, proven, and arguably more reliable. I think torq is good & it will get better with more updates. I use it on my mobile gigs. Ultimately it is your choice. Research a lot and decide. I chose Torq, I like it. Try both if possible and decide yourself. Hope that helps! check out djforums. com it's very helpful
