If I had been born in " Australia " then I would be De-sensitized to spiders like that but I wasn't I was born and raised in Seattle I have a horrible fear of large spiders and I could not sleep one wink ever after finding that thing in my residence . We do have rather large spiders here also but they are rare to see and only are around the house for a few months out of every year.

They are lightning fast and hard to keep in one area, try to move one and it might shoot up your arm and into your clothes in a instant.

Dont let them put you off though, theyre so big at least you always know where they are. Plus they dont really get in your clothes or anything, just sit on the wall.

Huntsmans are harmless, although their bite hurts like hell.

Ive seen some as big as your hand. Most the time they stay on the wall, but it is quite offputting when they loose their grip and fall on you!

They can be really agressive, There used to be one in a stump outside and she would jump after me as i walked by, turned out she had little babies so i found it was cute. Hehe

I lived in Hawaii and had to deal with them. Which consisted of my running screaming out the door, down the street, to find a neighbor to come remove AND kill the beast. No matter, it is part of life there and you WILL see them again. I never got used to it and I am still not over it!
