  • Space Station V should be @ L3 unless someone already has that parking spot...for docking and maneuvering procedures!

  • What we need is, Space Station V sitting out at one of the Lagrange points.

  • Now many degrees does the Orbiter rolls during the initial roll maneuver?

  • @ilgetz how many:)

  • @wesselmarjan Ik ben het helemaal met je mee eens!

  • Nasa the best for EVER!

  • What I don't understand is, why don't they just make a space craft that can take off and fly like a regular airplane?

Building these rockets that take off straight up, using a huge amount of fuel in the process seems so inefficient.

  • @greekanadian Let me rephrase, because I understand that the physics enabling standard aircraft to fly would no longer work in space, where there is essentially no atmosphere.

I guess I mean why don't they make some sort of hybrid....an aircraft that can take off and fly normally, and high enough out of the atmosphere. Then when the physics fail, they activate whatever jets the craft also has to regain control once the standard wings/engines fail?

  • best part starts around 6.30- rockets falling through the atmosphere and hit the water.

  • what's the music?

  • if nasa would get as much money as the army, we would already have a colony on mars^^

  • @legionario501

    racist retard

  • @R3DV1RUS

If private organizations dedicated to aerospace got even a fraction of what NASA does, we could be flying faster than light speed by now.

  • @Sarstan

i didn't know that money could break the laws of physics.

  • @andy75753 Busy doing something innovative, instead of fighting a war that did nothing but cause regression.

  • @andy75753 shut the fuck up you whiney bitch

  • so beautiful... favorite video on the internet.

  • lol sad music for the external tank!!!!!

  • agree, this is one of the coolest videos ever

  • This is the coolest video I've ever seen.

  • Is this available as a HD download anywhere?

  • The symmetry of rocket separation is so precise at 6:37. These camera angles + sound are fantastic

    thanks!

  • Spectacular and greatly enjoyed the music that accompanies the video :-)

Space is indeed the new frontier but it we're very far from actually living up there, or at least for a few of us to explore more of space--frustrating !

    Rosanella :-)

  • Have they tested sex in space yet? What happens to the sperm? Can they still make their destination, or do they start floating all over the cabin?

  • interesting

  • There hasn't been any recorded instance that I know of in the case of humans, I think they mated amphibians or fish or something though.

  • Truly awesome. And dare I say... uplifting.

    Thanks for posting.

  • Sometimes I like to close my eyes and pretend I didn't flunk my way through high school, and that I went on to become a NASA astronaut like I dreamed about when I was a kid. Sometimes...

  • A relic that goes back to an America that did amazing things.

  • absolutely awsome

  • so much fuel wasted. like there is no other way of lifting objects up ..

  • i think, there is no other way... the space elevator is nearly impossible to build.

but they could really use the Ariane V, it wouldn't waste as much fuel as the space shuttle

  • maybe the shuttle attached to a pressure resistant zeppelin would do the trick..

  • interesting idea... but the zeppelin would also need fuel and zeppelins are not safe enough.

  • Why don't you name some?

  • why am I being downvoted?? i named one.

  • He said some, not only one :p

but i don't really know, why they downvoated you... It was not a bad post.

  • that was really graceful!

  • absolutely fantastic.

  • This is awesome video. I can't wait for the Shuttle to be retired to the history books. This was a lot of diagnostic footage looking for damage.

  • complimenti dall'italia... VIDEO BELLISSIMO!!!

  • hey where can i get it on 1080p...it would be friggin amazing.

  • Ask the NASA about that, they made the Video... I think, it had a better Resolution when it was uploaded by someone from the NASA.

  • Vielen Dank für den upload! Tolle Bilder! Jetzt lad' ich mir die 12 Minuten Version von ExposureRoom.

  • Beautiful...

  • Espectacular!

  • maravilloso

  • WOW!

  • this is just so stunning
