I am a charlton fan and i was there and was just too amazing to put into words. Never have I had so much emotion in a football match. This vid give me so many good memories- thank you for posting it. Leaving Wembley there was silence, it took 30 mins to walk to the car and no one could speak- pure shock and adrenaline. There will never be a game like this ever again and I am so happy I was there to witness it.

'Twas a defining moment.
However, the Huddersfield game back in the '50's was easily the greatest. I would know because my grandfather was a player in that game for Charlton.
The shame of it all, is that the Valley is a Premiereship stadium. Look at it. It's beautiful. May we have better luck in the upcoming seasons.

Sad to see the situation the Addicks are in, was always a good game Charlton/Bolton, particularly back in the First Division. I know it's no consolation but this is absolutely the greatest game ever seen.
So many playoff finals have been snores since, this had everything. Many goals, penalties, and could anyone tell who was gonna win at any point throughout the game before Michael Gray stepped up?

Amazing 11 years later and Charlton are falling apart close to drop into the 3rd tier of the leagues!!

Not really Andy. "Its better to have loved and lost than to have never loved before". Id rather support a club like Charlton than Palace who have never achieved anything of not or have managed to spend more than a handful of seasons in the limelight. At the end of the day, and which ever league were in, we'll always have this and I wouldnt swap that for being a no-mark club like CPFC.

Perhaps the greatest game ever seen at Wembley. Pity there had to be a loser really.

I am a charlton fan and i was there and was just too amazing to put into words. Never have I had so much emotion in a football match. This vid give me so many good memories- thank you for posting it. Leaving Wembley there was silence, it took 30 mins to walk to the car and no one could speak- pure shock and adrenaline. There will never be a game like this ever again and I am so happy I was there to witness it.
