Indeed and he could even kill Alucard, because he absorbs the blood of a vampire and can regenerate permanently caused by the nanotecs.

@TenebraeNoctis79 It just occurred to me... Abel is the ultimate scifi vampire--using, to quote from a certain video game: "the infinite powers of nano augmentation"--, while Alucard is the ultimate fantasy vampire (using captured "souls" to continuously cheat death).
